  1. I haven't had any that have been repaired fail again (apart from mine obviously to quite likely). Yes you are correct as to cable connects - the ones you have seen on TM must be earlier units. I have seen 3 & 5 cars with the same units.
  2. Yes they are Dan. I have had several fixed by Max via work. Once fixed they seem to be fine. Ironically mine was also playing up - I recently pulled it apart to have a looksee. Apart from cleaning the laser, I did nothing (that I know of) but since then it has not faulted -probably only a matter of time though:- Otherwise, get techo & get one of those unit's Jochen was promoting.
  3. Shite Dave - do you ever sleep Going to be an interesting one
  4. Yep, 3 & 5 cars have the same changers. They are an Alpine unit. Alternatively they can be repaired - Max Electronics in Auckland specialise in Alpine & are good with these
  5. Are you absolutely sure it is bled properly? Sounds as if it may still have an airlock. Doesn't sound like thermostat to me - this would be a constant "hot"
  6. ^^^^^^^ so true! And what a wa&^ker for treating a car like that. Pointless!
  7. Bloody nice car & pics Atta - as usual. Can guess how it will turn out once you add you input

    Sky Virtual

Now just have to have a skite http://virtualrugby.jimungo.com/Leaderboards/Default.aspx Last 4 weeks I have been: 6th, 5, 7, 6 First week thought wow but it won't last - getting a bit complacent now Still surely it can't though Think the highest I have ever been before has been around 10k ish
  9. Wise words! Just to correct on battery size (from original post) it will be a Din 88/92 (depending on brand) & not a 66. Also bear in mind when checking current draw - these cars take around 20 min's to go to sleep
  10. Done! As Dave said - PC crap. Speedway has been there longer than the muppets complaining about it have
  11. Quite like but for the "as mentioned" swollen grille
  12. Bit unusual - a Jap E39 with TV but no nav - usually have both. yes you can upgrade the tuner to work correctly, PM me for details. Marcus is however correct if Jap nav is fitted - you then require a specific tuner.
  13. To my knowledge - around $350-400 ish but you can get a non remote version as a cheaper option too I think

    Moving on up.

Nice car, love the colour, well done!
  15. Andy, You don't need to go original but make sure you get a comparable quality - Calcium type Don't know for sure what battery is in your car but would imagine it being a Din88/92 - number varies depending on Battery supplier -eg Exide Din88, same battery in HCB Endurent is 92 Any auto sparky or Glenn if you are in Auckland (haven't checked your profile)
  16. Reacon? I hate the front with a passion
  17. Are the holes showing - eg covers removed? Very small allen key to undo in each hole
  18. Droooooooooollllllllll x 2. Dan you lucky prick!

    Home Theater

Yep agree - don't go on package all in one deals. Above receivers options inc Yamaha. Speakers - as above but although I have a soft spot for Wharfedale - I have not seen quality in build (or heard for that matter) in their later speakers - particually lower end variants. We have B&W units for home theatre, upright shelf style with the two fronts mounted on their stands & centre sitting flat, + active sub via Pioneer amp. These units produce very tight crisp sound & will absolutely blitz any " out of box" package deal

    New 20's on E53

Can see where you are coming from with description but to be honest - with respect - I prefer the originals - albeit maybe bigger rim version & shallower tyre
  22. Can do, but make sure you get a 16:9 version TV module - can be from E38/39/46 etc cars as well as X5 obviously
  23. There are two types of in tank pump in E30's. One is purely a lift pump (low pressure) that feeds the main pump under floor in front of L/R wheel. The other is a main high pressure pump, in this case - no second external pump is fitted. The fuel pressure is around 34 PSI in both systems. If you have low pressure in place of high pressure then obviously car will be no go.
  24. Not my experience & I haven't tried K & N panel version but the test I am referring to - he was referring to flow rates. How accurate the test was though - I'm not sure
