  1. I bought mine as soon as it popped up for sale...right place right time, nz new manual clubsport
  2. Haha to do what?! To start all over again!!!, although after I sold the 530 we couldn't find an X5 we liked so bought an 02 540i motorsport...soooo much faster
  3. yep thats what i put on, its a fake, you can get a ticket for that, just plead ignorance you bought it like that, but the guy you bought it off should have given you the originals too, must be hiding in the boot somewhere this size, not sure why i wiped the plate, maybe when i had it listed somewhere else for sale,
  4. Yeah thats the original plate number but I changed it to the euro from german plates which is on the car, always lft the standard size plates in the boot just in case I got pulled up on it
  5. Haha no worries, did he give you the original plates too? I put the euro ones on, infact germanplates.com still have a pic of the car in the website in the gallery.
  6. We bought it when it was just on under 5 years old and still worth a few $$$, great car and the best colour by far.It was my wifes daily work car and man was she pissed off when i sold it!!! Another friend of ours has one in the same colour only a 528i (i reakon Shelly BMW sold all the Imola Red BMWs in NZ) with repainted darker factory wheels and she gets pissed off every time she sees it! I think we sold it in 2010 for $18500 at around 135000km , it got transported down on a truck, never me the guy who bought it till a couple of years later when i was racing at manfeild and he loved it! It was a great car, used a bit of oil but i think those motors do, and best way to keep the red paint looking good is to use the red colour wax.....best by far for keeping the red deep and shiny. I had to wax it every few weeks because our cars live out side.
  7. Thats Allen, Car club guy with two genuine alpina 850's plus about 5 others not to mention the M8 race car
  8. Ahhh fun times I can run faster scared than they can angry...
  9. Maybe two hookers Glenn, just in case one has fault too
  10. Watch out for those locals!

    Tasty

Oh i know the original owner of that
  12. I have always used wheelfixit, best thing is they are mobile, but I would get new rubber first then wheelfixit to do the repair otherwise tire shop will damage the work done
  13. I used to run the race car on Mobil 8000 because from memory it had a minimum rating of 98, BP ultimate had a minimum less than Mobil, my wife ran the both e39's (3.0 & 4.4) Gull Force XX (whatever its called) because it was handy and to be honest it only cost maybe $5 or $10 more than 95 to fill....that's a big mac combo. Now we use Caltex only because its handy for her on the way to her new office also when we had the X5 it was Caltex only because it had a stupid ass big fuel tank
  14. Both getting a free wash again, only this time both have the sunroofs closed so no puddles inside this time
  15. Yep, always heading up the road....(for a drink) everyone says the same touring vs sedan on the looks side of things 2c well spent
  16. The rear window blind motor went on mine years and years ago when I owned one and from memory it was the gears grinding so I wedged some tin to tighten it up and it worked, cheap fix, not easy to getin or out tho
  17. I have seen a 7 with bullet proof glass in Europe its around 40mm thick from memory, its pretty obvious when its bullet proof

  19. yeah sounds right, it was an option the e46 too, my e46 was spec'd with it but it had a replacement a some stage of its life with a standard screen, getting a new comfort screen in late Jan , luckily my nav is through the idrive or else that would be a waste of time plonking a nav man on the front window! the cell reception is fine probably having the panoramic sunroof helps, if it wasn't i would have to resort to the old school car kit with a nokia 5110 and external antenna for shits and giggles.....green screen and dot matrix
  20. So my E61 has comfort glazing all round (double laminate on the doors and the purple front windscreen) Question is has anyone else used a radar in the usual place with comfort glazing?....from what i have read it reduces cell phone reception and also the radar detectors range. Most of the time I have crap reception anyway. Yes it would be easier to not go 5kph over the speed limit but in reality ..... Comfort glazing was an option so not everyone will know the answer, and yes it has a little non comforted section of the front window by the rear view mirror for radars and toll readers but sh*t you need a micro radar for it to fit in, and who wants to spend $1500+ on the concealed units....not me Edit, some how it did multiple post, someone delete the others for me please
