Cheers for the feedback. I'm not too worried about the car insurance as she only has a cheap car that she hardly ever uses which is worth less than 5k. My truck is insured through work. I'm more interested in the home and contents side of it. I had a quote from bnz who we have our mortgage with but it seemed pretty steep after I had spoken to a few people, I don't mind paying more for a better service. Re:youi, I spent almost an hour on the phone with some knob there and just hung up after getting absolutely no where with him. It's interesting seeing such a range in the feedback for AA, everyone has either had a great run with them or an absolutely terrible run with them. Brys parents have been with aa forever but to be fair haven't had to do any decent claims so their feedback is pretty void. Cheers

http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/54911-e30-m52b30-race-car/ Not as unique as you probably want but it's fn cheap

Yeah do what John said. Use the e30 rear half and whatever you can find to fit onto the front then get the driveshaft place to cut/add to make up the correct length. It pays to get friendly with one of the wreckers, I mucked around at Ray's for a while, and with the help of Sam, we finally managed to mongrel two bits together. Think it was around $500 to add a little bit to the length and balance it at adl

Hello team Who are y'all using for home and contents insurance? We have been using aa for my partners car for a while and they seem OK. Their quote was pretty average, and to be honest we haven't had to do a claim with them so can't comment on much other than their premium was pretty average. Any experience, good or bad would be awesome. Cheers

I have some spare harnesses I can donate if you want them, think they are expired but I think for track car they're ok

Was just thinking about this also. It's surprising how fast people think they will get on the track. I remember when that little weasel Jack reckoned his e30 car would get to 240 at the old puke. Remember, it's a budget build on a 20 year old car using a standard engine. I'm not trying to burst your bubble at all, I did the exact same thing as you when I first started my build and it spiralled out of control haha. If you set yourself a realistic target, you won't be disappointed further down the track, no pun intended. 200 kph is fn fast man!

I just wired a push switch to one of the inputs and set it as launch control. Just hold the button down and it sets the limit at around 4000, I can't remember what it was exactly but it took a while to find the sweet spot. Just take finger off the button when it's got traction and the limiter goes away. Ideally you would wire a switch to clutch and set it up properly but I don't have that sort of ability ha. It was useless trying to use the launch control in first also.

It's a 3l with 240hp at the wheels. Never use first apart from loading it on to the trailer. Take off in second with the rev cut on link. If it's just a fun car it should be fine if you're not fighting for tenths of a second. I think you'll soon get extremely bored of spinning inside wheels.

Should try find a way shorter diff. I run a 3.73 and a zf and have 1000 odd Rpm left in fifth at the front straight at Hampton downs. Think it hits around 200 on a very good day. Also like Troy said, get an LSD.

^word. All those water born enamels have a sh*t load of self levelling in them and if you use a good brush the finish will be sweet. Stop fkng around.
-
^what he said, have done the same with good results. 160 odd hp at the wheels
