  2. Good Evening, I've found a bit of info scattered through this forum, but all for newer or older models. so here is my story. The car is a 1994 E34 540iS. The problemis a window gremlin. It started in the rear left window, which stopped working when i brough it, then after a bit of fiddling it started working. THen about a week later the left front window stopped working. about 2 weeks after that, it was working again, but the driver window wasn't... DOH! Anyway, its been many months since then, the driver window still doesnt work, the left rear is fine, but every so often the front left stops working again, never for long though, about 1 minute of fiddling with the switch and its working again. I have access to an E32 735 for spare parts. Please advise where i should start looking/swapping parts to try sort the problem out, i miss having my hair blow in the wind
  3. INteresting, used by an american University Isnt the Ka Mate Haka completly Maori, not polynesian (yes i know different argument again for another time) But given its based on Te Rauparaha we could consider it totally Maori Based...
  4. Thats Fantastic Mr. Fox to you, Mortal. How many tickets can i put aside for you Dave?
  5. Tradeins considered you know Its hard to sell it, but yeah, onwards and upwards.
  6. So i was thinking, Whats the legality of going out and selling say 1500 raffle tickets at $10 ea and then raffling off my car and a full tank of gas? Im sure i could find enough mates and BMW Enthusiests to pull it off... Heck i'd buy 10 tickets Okay the last bit probably is illegal lol.
  7. Originally i thought it was white too in the photos, but mine eyes (and the purchase doc) say Grey Leather, its either Hall Grey or Hell Grey Leather, can't read quite right. The purchase doc is quite personall, i got a name number and birthdate of the guy lol... He bought it when he was 49, put a 50k deposit on it. had 5km on the clock... Anyway, the moral of the story is, its not white, its grey, so buy it
  8. Negatory, Sold to a guy named Troy, think he lives out west.
  9. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index.php?showtopic=8614 You know you want it, i realise its under the sort of money your looking at spending, so if need be i can put the price up to make you feel more comfortable
  10. Noted: I just like do do everything on my own, being independant, Had my own insurance since 15, and financed my first decent (ie 5 figures) car without needing a guarantor, but thats just me, each to his, or her as this case own i say. Take the best deal for now, and query for the future (ie. just ask can i carry my own no claims over when i leave home).
  11. The reason its so much cheaper to do it under your parents is they probably have their no claims bonus intact, this gives them a 50 or a 60% discount. You as a new driver who has held no previous insurance dont get this discount initially (you earn it) The issue with the insurance Policy being under your parents name is that when the time comes for you to break out on your own you will need to get your own insurance, and won't have earnt your own no claims bonus. My suggestion is get it in your name, start earning your no claims bonus, so when you do eventualy break out on your own its cheap for you. Mum n dad can always help out with $$ while you live with them. You may do what i did with my first car(s) at 15. Consider starting with only 3rd fire and theft since its not exactly a massive $$ car anyway, if you have faith in your own driving (you wont cause the accident) 3rd will still cover you for somone elses mistake, be WAY cheaper, and when you eventually want full cover the time spent with 3rd cover will still qualify you for no claims with full cover.
  12. Do you think this guy realises he's being stalked?
  13. With reference to This Good Point I shall tell you what it would take for me to part with my beautiful baby. I'm really looking for $14,000 Yes it's high milage, but it runs sweet and has been well looked after, with new clutch and shocks in the last 24 months, Its NZ new and has a full service history and receipts in a folder. If you think i'm being rediculous then please let me know, if its not worth anywhere near as much as i want then i simply won't sell it. It might not be worth that much to you, it is to me, so no offence if i don't take your advice. Perhaps im being stupid by asking a question i may not want to hear the answer to? Constructive crtisism is appreciated
  14. Apologiese OT: My 540iS has just ticked over 340,000km and is still going strong, very strong. Had the 90min check done by jerry Clayton, engine came back in very good nick, relative compression is out only 1% on 3 cylinders and spot on for the remainder. No knocks, ticks, clicks or surging, smooth as. The key is servicing them properly and regularily, other wise the bimmer will bite you in the wallet!!

    TURBO E36

IMgoing to be completly unhelpful and say that after driving turbos my whole life (with power from 150 - 220 kwatw) Screw Turbos buy a V8 Rolling around in the M60B40 powered 540i is just so much more fun, 500 or 5500, first or 6th gear, it pulls like school boy. Now an M60 in a E36 shell would be a lot of fun.

    My 540i

cress has a manual with the e32 that has style 5's as a factory option, however the manual was from germany and all in german. its a prick to figure out what they are acutally saying. not to mention the original purchasing docs that have the wheels and spoiler on the invoice. from the dealership where it was oringnally brought from.

  23. What brand(s) Of Antifreeze are recommended for the Bimmers? I generally use Fuchs in my Jappas, i think they are of German Origin so should have the goods? And secondly, how much coolant is likly to be in the system? Im guessing well over 5L, massive Radiator...
