The Long Lost Crunchy
LemonHunter replied to LemonHunter's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
That's understandable. In my opinion the dude was a legend. I have never seen such a drivers arm tan. Reminded me of a farmers leg, where below the gumboot it's white as snow, and above it, caramel brown. -
Need some help with a Volvo V40 1999 2.0T
LemonHunter replied to LemonHunter's topic in Other European Cars
Did some further gooogling, turns out I was looking at the barometric sensor, same PN as the MAP, the actual MAP sensor is under the inlet manifold, parts inbound from FCP. -
Does anyone have contact details for Steve Murch? He's made himself understandably hard to find, and the cell number I have from 15ish years ago doesn't seem to work anymore. @No name user

Ah.. I see that you're new here. *grabs popcorn* -
Anyone here know, or know someone familiar with these cars? Looks like someone has disconnected the Map sensor, no obvious way to plumb it bacn in.

Attn VW illuminati: Opinions on Mk2 Jetta
LemonHunter replied to LemonHunter's topic in Other European Cars
Thanks for that, very helpful. Just miss having a retro car, pissed off at E30 tax, and nostalgic for that turbo sound and feel like the old days. Probably not many people know this but @BreakMyWindowand I were fairly deep in the mitsubisbi/drag/Street shenannigans thing back in the day. He had a ZR4 and it was glorious. -
I've been looking at this Jetta, seems like a fairly well thought out mk3/4 conversion. I know nothing about VW though, can anyone translate it to bmw terms? Is this like an E21 body, E30 driveline and E36 engine? Looking for thoughts on future value, present fun. https://www.trademe.co.nz/2499431474 I'm fairly sure one of the Cams (palmy way) on this forum is VW wise.

Ah, in both of my cases they gave zero fricks. Good to know they do chase it up.

Some vendors do remove bids of people with crappy trading histories, with them or others.
-
Trademe really needs to do more about that. I've proven to them on 2 different auctions, shill bidding had taken place. On one of them my autobid was maxed and the the bidder that beat me had their bid removed about 3 minutes before closing (despite having 100% positive feedback so clearly not one to f**k people around), the person hadn't asked for their bid to removed. The other I contacted the person who outbid me (they had their own car for sale) and they were the flatmate of the vendor. They should roll back any autobids when a top bid is removed.

Well... many odd things, what say people? I'm interested i it, but it's an odd one, right? It's a re-registered, manual converted E34 525i with a V8 Bonnet and Grill. Oh, and 14 owners since 1999, meaning on average, it's changed hands every 6286km Also extremely cheap. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2499896862.htm?rsqid=29107acc64a544478cbd02b8806c69e4-003 https://www.carjam.co.nz/report/?ref=5947B5A1
