I buy lotto tickets and cross my fingers. Sometimes I get a company car if I can't drive, ACC sends a taxi around to take me to the hostiple so I can get stabbed by surgeons or drugs injected into me to see how much my legs go wonky, sometimes they make me go crazy *twitch* and drive silly. My bacon suppliers also give me parking privileges you know those yellow carparks, but i'd feel too much like a ham parking in them so I don't generally. Unless I see a perfectly able bodied person parking in one without a card and then I try to park in it I give them a toot and wave a bit of orange handicapped magic out the window and threaten to call a tow truck, but then I have to drive to another shop so they wont key my car. I'm like a vigilante parking warden. If only I had a Segway I could rule the world. And yes my eyes were seeing red on the Anzac day cruise with a certian BS member parking in MY PRIVELEGED SPOT out at Maraetai. I was this close >.< to calling a towtruck so I could park in it.

Depending on how much you can do yourself, Its pretty easy more a time factor, you can pick all the bits up pretty cheap, but best to try the gearbox in the donor car first if possible, layshaft bearings are the main weakness in the manual boxes so best to check theyre ok and the synchros, before you hand over your penny's otherwise youll have a noisy time ticking box. But worth doing the conversion if you enjoy driving. Things you'll need when you do it, Pedalbox with master cylinder, manual driveshaft, gearbox, diff, flywheel, clutch, manual interior console (not too sure on the setup on the e30's interior wise). Thats all I can think of off the top of my head others may add to the list

Not my cup of tea, but each to their own. The only time I've ever considered getting one but I couldnt figure out how to make it readable, but i've always wanted Supadork for one of my Fiat Bambina's BUT IT WONT FIT. I spose I could do UPADOR and put a vinyl S and K distinguishably on the outside of the plate. But it will have to wait till I buy one that has been re registered and no longer has the original Black license plates. Otherwise it just wouldn't be right. If I ever see a Bmw with Supadork or an equivalent I will chase you down in my 500cc 2 cylinder 21.5 horse powered four wheeled Nipple and then.. and then.. errrr and then I'll beep my horn very angrily at you whilst flashing my headlights.

I have just been through a 10month legal battle with the Police over an incident along the motorway where I was exceeding the speed limit, but exceeding it by 47km/h I think not. There was a major discrepancy along the lines somewhere, either my speedo was out by over 30km/h or the officer had a jerky arm or the locked on speed wasn't true. He refused to show me the locked on speed (and had every right to do so apparently, but it is recommended they do show if requested), Instant suspension of my license for 28 days. Asked for assistance off the motorway as I had no means to contact any help, "No f***** way mate" was his reply, jumped in his car and drove away leaving me on the side of the motorway at 2:30am in Papatoetoe/Otara. after sitting for 20mins I had no option, because of a medical condition and god damn it was OTARA and youre not allowed to walk down the motorway theres another ticket waiting, So I had to drive to the immediate next offramp to a service station. But the Officer was sitting at the offramp waiting for me. Pulled me over on the offramp and Impounded my car and charged me for driving whilst suspended. Then said I suppose you want a ride home now, "Yes I had asked for a ride off the motorway when you first pulled me over". Then threw me in the back of the police car and drove me all the way home. Laid a complaint against him for Leaving me stranded on the side of the motorway, calling me a f***** s***head and continuing to swear at me after I asked him to deal with the matter in a professional manner, and the way he dealt with the situation as a whole. My complaint has been upheld, after speaking with the Senior Sergeants conducting the investigation it sounds extremely likely that he has lost his job. Anyhow back on topic went through a 10 month legal battle through the courts over it, the Prosecutor would not withdraw the charges and tried to make it clear to the Judge that I was a young Male 24yrs of age driving a Black High Powered "B(dramatic pause) M(dramatic pause) W" travelling at 157km/h on that particular night. We will be proceeding with prosecution. I had to hold the laughter inside, the way she emphasized Bmw was hilarious and what makes it better, I was in one of my 2.5l M20 e34's, HIGH POWERED MUAHAHHAHAHHA. And she got the speed wrong it was alleged 147km/h on the notice. Anyhow dragged it out to a Defended hearing, my case was called I stood in the dock, gave my not guilty plea and then the Prosecutor handed my barrister a note and withdrew the charges as their Police witness was no longer available. So yes if you are under lets say.. 35 driving a Bmw, weither it be an old e30 - e34 - e36 with the smallest engine in the range you are still driving a "High Powered" Bmw and you should be punished to the full extent of the law. (btw I have never had a speeding ticket/ speed camera fine in my life and still to this day dont, and I am still constantly being harassed by the Police everytime I drive a vehicle which is registered to me (17 times in 2 month), my vehicles are still tarnished with an outstanding court issue, but not when I drive mums or my brothers Bmw's.) Hrmmmm Punitive damages and compensation is my next battle no doubt it will drag on for a while. And before I get scolded I admit I was breaking the law that night, I glanced at my speedo as I rounded the bend which my speed was recorded on, and I was a tad over 110, by a tad I mean closer to the 110 mark than the 120 mark, BEFORE I stood on the brake not after. But how he got 147km/h astounds me, the fact that the notices say I was in 4 different locations and my name was spelt incorrectly and he refused to correct them after I told him they were incorrect, it seems he's not one to follow correct procedure, it kind of puts his credibility in doubt.

The bottom cover plate is the same on the auto, the mounts are different but I stand to be corrected. The bellhousing bolts for the auto are longer. I have always used the ones that came off the manual box and thrown the auto bolts away with the box.

In my hotel days quite a few celebs came through, most were really good to talk to, usually very friendly but did get the odd over dramatic superstars screaming and throwing what ever they could get hold of down the hall at you, a certain Village People member comes to mind *ahem*, others that came through and I spoke with personally were, John Cleese (Very funny man), Shania Twain (loves her mashed potatos), The Red Hot Chilli Pepper guys, Lenny Kravitz, Cher, Hi5 (they were "interesting" to say none the least), Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster, Nana Mascouri, Prince William on his brief stopover Wasn't able to engage in conversation with him though just a brief welcome and greeting. Neil Diamond almost had more security than Prince William. And some Royal family from some middle eastern country. Springboks were resident in the hotel for a couple of weeks, The english rugby team, They were some of the international celebs, NZ ones in droves and most were forgettable, Gary McCormack in his Salmon *cough* Pink taylored suit. The list wanks on.

YES!! the police are going to come knocking on your door soon. BARRICADE YOURSELF IN, PUSH YOUR BED UP AGAINST THE DOOR SO THEY CANT GET IN, ATTACK YOUR COMPUTER WITH A SLEDGE HAMMER TO DESTROY IT. HURRY...... HURRY GOD DANG IT. RUN NOW BEFORE THEY GET TO YOUR HOUSE. heh no, the 2 squares near the top are just a rating system on how many times you post on the forums. The warning ones show how many times you have been naughty. when you have none left, then the police are called and they confiscate your computer and wheel clamp your car. Thats how I think it works, well from what I've read.

No, the ones in my back windows work fine. Those grommets are about $6 if I remember correctly had to get one for one of my old e34's.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=65&fg=30 Is it the same as number 9 in the pic?? If so the dealer still has them. Only a couple of dollars. They are rubber though. It sound like yours might be metal or part metal?

When was the filter last changed? If you have a clogged filter the oil wont be able to pass through as easily as it should, when the oil heats up the viscosity thins and is able to pass through the clogged filter more easily. An oil and filter change might do wonders?? Its worked on a few I've done.

I have a set of bottle caps, the tyres are bald and will need replacing though. Heading up to Opononi this weekend I can throw them on the trailer if you wanna come across and grab them.

Hi anybody out there have a left hand side e39 headlight assembly for sale?

It took mine AAAAGES to settle down, a good couple of months. It was so heinous I parked the car up and drove another one. I don't like the big fat aunty in the front seat island Bongo Van look. Decided to take them out a couple of months later, had a game of musical cars in the workshop and had a look at it on the flat and they had finally dropped. All in good time Butterfly. Good things come to those who wait. How long have you had them in for? You could try filling the boot up with bricks or putting your big fat aunty in the boot to bring the back down??

I hit the 300,000km mark a few months ago and there the odometer has stayed. The digital odometers on pre 89 e34's have an electrical glitch where they stop at 300,000km. I've known the cars history since 1992 and nothing major has been done. Good ole m20b25's. I think I'll replace the layshaft bearings in the next couple of weeks, theyre a bit noisy now. One of the others is at 289,000km still a way to go but still going strong on original engine as far as I know. OH I had to change the spark plugs and put this black stuff into the top of the motor and change this thing that screws onto the side of the motor and this black rubber band thing with teeth something to do with the things that go round and round on the front of the engine. And I heard that its bad to not put that stuff that explodes into the hole by the boot when the thing in front of the steering wheel goes below that line. Apparently a light comes on if you don't and the car will explode and you will die.

Ah the highjacking stories... I was smacked in the face and he tried ripping the door open. But I wasn't in any of my Bmw's, I was in my Bedford van crazily enough. Retaliated with an elbow to his nose, hard enough to make my funny bone tingle. Merrily idled away watching him sprint behind, slowed enough for him to gain on us, banging on the back of my old girl so I sped up a little and then my brakes suddenly jammed... He made a big full speed BANG into the back. He didn't get up off the ground as we drove away (is that a hit and run??? he ran into the back of me??) Shrieks of laughter from all onboard, and then another "Wu Tang Clan member" (I know Wu Tang Clan??? WTF???) threw a rock adding another dent, so a U turn was made and the car they were in got in my way. Quite a newish looking Stubaru (probably stolen earlier that evening). The left rear wheel assembly didnt look too healthy. REAL bullbars that weigh more than the average japanese car do wonders, none of this Aluminium Best Bars bull. I recommend channel steel to EVERYONE!! Then a 40 odd km/h pursuit began with him in another car full of people that was parked up. I couldnt shake them off my tail in my almost 3 tonne 200hp diesel powered heffalump, so a plan was devised... The Black Power HQ... if they followed us their either they were B.P themselves (but they were white so we didn't think so) or they had balls of steel. Sure enough, they hightailed in the opposite direction once we turned into "the street". Continued home collected the dogs and some "building supplies" and continued on our merry little midnight adventure to the beach, after we did a little straightening of the bullbars with a chain and a big oak tree. There are some real crazy people out there these days.. Bring back public stoning I say, or Ollies more sedate Chain gangs.. I should sell seats in my van for crazy adventures, would a seat on the bed be worth more than a seat on the couch?? I could fit 9 semi comfortably, 16 wasn't so comfortable. I had drivers seat so I was fine the rest were drunk so their complaints werent counted.

If its pre f/l Check the distributor timing.. runs off the oil pump gear.. mine didnt have any markings on it, I was used to the later m20's with the distributor on the cam, and didnt have to worry about lining the distributor up. Its a pain. I ended up taking the front off about 3-4 times rechecking the cam belt and timing trying to figure out what the prob was before I realised what the prob was. Not sure if you can just unbolt the distributor and rotate the gear round to the correct position. have to make sure your marks are lined up on the cam and crank and then position the rotor just before spark on number one. Then pat yourself on the back and bash your head into a wall a few more times.

Also full black leather interior from 4 door pre f/l e30. tidy condition will get photos up in the next few days. What are these worth?? offers welcome.

From a pre face lift 325i. Will suit both pre face lift and face lift models with the m20. either 320i or 325i. Has everything needed to convert to a manual. Gearbox, clutch, flywheel, pedal box, master and slave cylinder, all hoses, 2 piece drive shaft, gearbox mount, differential, gear shift, interior console. The gearbox is still sitting in the donor car. Drive in, drive out for $1000 price lowered need to clear some stuff out. Offers welcome.

As far as symptoms go.... I bought a 320i with a blown head gasket, was told the head had been tested and was Ok. Put it all back together and it fills the radiator back up with engine oil. So.... I have an m20b25 sitting in the workshop looking for a car and im guessing its going to be cheaper buying an ecu to put the 2.5l in the car instead of buying another head for the 2.0l. As far as certifying goes.... who cares who's going to know?? apart from you guys. heh. Alternatively I do have the entire wiring loom from the m20b25 running motronic 1.3 and all the bits and bobs needed to run it, but i think thats too much of a head ache to run the loom through, link all the warnings up and make it look purty.. If i stay with the loom thats in the car then one would be none the wiser.

Anyone have one of these lying around or know whether the 320i ecu will work???

Another good reason not to import from Asia

Anyone have an old M20b25 head and an exhaust manifold for 525i or 520i lying around.. I need the innards of the head Cam, rocker shaft, rockers, any bits considered. Can help you out with your car on the weekend with use of a full workshop and hoist to look at your girlies underbits.
