  1. I fill with either Gull 95 or BP 98, and on a full tank I can get from Tauranga to Auckland and back with about 50km in city driving too (so around 500km total) and by the time I'm back my gas light is on well and truly. The 318iS is probably more economical around town than something like a 328i.. But not at all on the open road, Have to be sitting on about 4000rpm to get up most hills without slowing down, foot to the floor going up the Kaimai's and you'll sit at 100k and take about 2 minutes to get to 120k sitting at about 5000rpm.. So yeh, dead slow. 140hp 318iS vs 130hp Opel Vectra, you'd be a fair bit lighter than me and probably not have the moonshot gear ratio's.. So It'd be an easy win on your behalf, I get smoked by diesel wagons, people movers, paraplegics in wheelchairs..
  2. e36 318i auto Haven't driven one, But I'm guessing it's probably not a whole lot better than a 318iS.. especially in auto. e36 318is auto ~$90 to fill, 550-600km per tank, absolutely dead slow and dull to drive.. alright on corners though. e36 325i manual Would pick this over the 318iS ANY DAY.. even if it used twice as much gas, But I'm going to guess that the fuel economy on a manual M50B25 325 would be VERY similar to an Auto M44/M42B18 318iS
  3. Good luck with this, One of my friends who used to live in Tokoroa had a special edition VR-4 Evolution RS that was stolen and recovered (Guessing its one of the other 4, He'd said He knew of another 2 in NZ) Nice cars.
  4. Dinan or Active Autowerk in the states are probably who I'd use, Easily take the E46 330 to power levels exceeding an M3. It'll be a 5 figure job though =]
  5. Can't wait to see one! Heck. E39 M5 engine?
  6. Are they making a 335 touring?
  7. One of those limited edition 3.3 turbo 745's, rebuilt with bulletproof internals and a turbo the size of a dinner plate... and around 700hp of laggy goodness.
  8. It's currently in a RHD car.
  9. You sure can, I'm pretty sure a member of this site has them.
  10. Cheer's guys. It's dynoed at 204hp atw (around 235ish at the flywheel) so its not far from the stock output. Brakes wise I'm going to go with some decent pads for now and if that doesn't make certification then I'll look at something from there. Tracking down some M52 mounts.. From what I've seen this isn't too massive a project but I know something will go wrong. Engine comes with everything required to run including most of the exhaust system. In total I hope to have the car off the road for less than two weeks for a full engine swap & gearbox swap. But I'm sure something will mess that up.
  11. 3500 with the M3 gearbox, Apparently including everything to get the engine running and convert to manual..
  12. Weaves and black kidneys.. and then if it was a person I'd marry it.
  13. This may put my secret project on hold for a while/over altogether.. So there might be some parts/a car for sale soon. We'll wait and see.
  14. That E90 dressed up as a taxi is hilarious. The sight and sound of it at 1:47ish as it takes off again after spinning out is drool-worthy indeed.
  15. Thats friggen gorgeous. If that thing had another pedal, 2 more cylinders and another 900cc.. I'd hit that.
  16. Looks like I'm now the proud owner of an M50B30 & M3 5-speed. Being a forum slut on overseas forums browsing for conversion info.
  17. I have the money and the means to get my (soon to be grubby) little hands on an M50B30 E36 M3 (american) engine. ECU, intake manifold, exhaust manifold & fuel system would be included.. What else is required for the swap? (I'm assuming the standard gearbox would in no way be up to the task, have a 328 manual box lined up..) Mainly just thinking about engine mounts and such.. anyone know the differences between the M50B30 and the S50 3.0 from the Euro spec M3 as far as mounting goes? As far as I'm aware the M50B30 has a lot more in common with the M52 2.8 than the S-Series engines, so I'm guessing that 2.8 mounts or S50 3.0 mounts would be the go. Edit: Scratch the 328 box. Have a M3 5-speed offered!
  18. Well if you get one Spargo, I'll straight swap you for a f/l 318i auto 2-door.

I'm a different person than the one making the first post 3pedals.The only aircon problems I've had have been the aircon panel being inconsistant with turning on.
  20. Can't wait for some decent pics. Beats my 1993 2.4 Nissan Bluebird for first cars =[
  21. Seen the 345iTurbo E30 coupe? Running 600hp+ 3.3l factory turbo (modified obviously) from the limited edition 745 Also, 1048hp E30 running twin-turbo M5 engine (E34? or possibly the E39 V8.. but I think it's the E34's 6) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN1t5Hddb-A...ted&search=

Thanks for that. Will probably be getting Him to sort mine out then. What sorta time is turn-around on repair? as if it's more than a couple of days I'd rather try and get an exchange than a repair..

So you send Him your aircon panel and if He can fix it you pay Him $100? Or do you send Him your aircon panel and $100 in exchange for another aircon panel that's been repaired

Cheers. Didn't see any burnt out solder or anything so I'm guessing that It's buggered.
