  1. One of those limited edition 3.3 turbo 745's, rebuilt with bulletproof internals and a turbo the size of a dinner plate... and around 700hp of laggy goodness.

  4. Cheer's guys. It's dynoed at 204hp atw (around 235ish at the flywheel) so its not far from the stock output. Brakes wise I'm going to go with some decent pads for now and if that doesn't make certification then I'll look at something from there. Tracking down some M52 mounts.. From what I've seen this isn't too massive a project but I know something will go wrong. Engine comes with everything required to run including most of the exhaust system. In total I hope to have the car off the road for less than two weeks for a full engine swap & gearbox swap. But I'm sure something will mess that up.

  7. This may put my secret project on hold for a while/over altogether.. So there might be some parts/a car for sale soon. We'll wait and see.
  8. That E90 dressed up as a taxi is hilarious. The sight and sound of it at 1:47ish as it takes off again after spinning out is drool-worthy indeed.

  10. Looks like I'm now the proud owner of an M50B30 & M3 5-speed. Being a forum slut on overseas forums browsing for conversion info.
  11. I have the money and the means to get my (soon to be grubby) little hands on an M50B30 E36 M3 (american) engine. ECU, intake manifold, exhaust manifold & fuel system would be included.. What else is required for the swap? (I'm assuming the standard gearbox would in no way be up to the task, have a 328 manual box lined up..) Mainly just thinking about engine mounts and such.. anyone know the differences between the M50B30 and the S50 3.0 from the Euro spec M3 as far as mounting goes? As far as I'm aware the M50B30 has a lot more in common with the M52 2.8 than the S-Series engines, so I'm guessing that 2.8 mounts or S50 3.0 mounts would be the go. Edit: Scratch the 328 box. Have a M3 5-speed offered!

    I'm a different person than the one making the first post 3pedals.The only aircon problems I've had have been the aircon panel being inconsistant with turning on.

    Thanks for that. Will probably be getting Him to sort mine out then. What sorta time is turn-around on repair? as if it's more than a couple of days I'd rather try and get an exchange than a repair..

    So you send Him your aircon panel and if He can fix it you pay Him $100? Or do you send Him your aircon panel and $100 in exchange for another aircon panel that's been repaired

    I'm thinking it's just the control unit at fault as the system has gas pressure and works fine when the control panel is working.. It just turns itself on and off and most of the time doesn't turn on at all (the screen doesn't light up and pressing the buttons has no effect..) So should I try running another power supply to the aircon panel? switched from ignition or constant? and to which wire?

    Have the aircon panel sitting on my lap at present. It must be getting power somehow as the little cooling fan on it is running. Guessing it's probably some loose wiring inside the unit itself? All the connectors are fine.. There's a large blue plug with a dozen or so wires coming out of it.. a smaller black plug with two black wires and a white wire in one sheath coming from it.. and a small yellow plug with a green wire and a brown wire leading to the small cooling fan. There's a blue socket for a plug with nothing attached and no loose plugs floating around in the dash.. I'm guessing it's loose wiring in the unit as it sometimes works sometimes doesn't and its obviously getting power no problem due to the fan running.

    When it turns on it runs fine, It just doesn't usually turn on (the buttons have backlights that are on at the same time as all the other interior lights.. but they don't function and the panel doesn't turn on most of the time) so I'll have a poke around this afternoon and see if there's anything loose or damaged.

    These are both in the underbonnet fuse-box? Mine has a habit of sometimes turning on, sometimes not, sometimes turning on then turning itself off around particular corners.. thinking it's a loose wire somewhere..
