    CALLING F1 FANS

I just added s series of videos - those who follow the James Allen blog would have seen this already, but otherwise a good watch: http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=32643
  2. For those of you F1 fans that follow James Allen's blog you'll no doubt have seen these videos. But for those that haven't and have a slight interest in motorsport - well worth the watch! It's part of the promotion done for the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi (the one event I'd love to attend in person one day!!) - the final round of the F1 Calendar this year. Part 1: Part 2: Part 3: Inside an F1 Simulator: Part 4: Final Part - 2 seater F1 experience:
  3. Ever wonder how different race versions of "road racers" are? Great series of videos from Road & Track: GT3 vs GT3RSR M3 vs M3GT2 F430 vs F430GTC Corvette ZR1 vs C6R Jaguar XKR vs XKRGT And the respective laptime differences: Road car: Best Lap | Average Lap Speed (mph) Race car: Best Lap | Average Lap Speed (mph) (road car's lap relative to race car, rounded) Corvette: ZR1: 2:03.86 | 88.59 C6R: 1:48.28 | 101.34 (-15.5s) Porsche: GT3: 2:06.12 | 87.00 GT3RSR: 1:47.92 | 101.68 (-19s) Jaguar: XKR: 2:15.57 | 80.94 XKRGT: 1:53.20 | 96.93 (-22s) Ferarri: F430: 2:12.28 | 82.96 F430 GTC: 1:47.68 | 101.90 (-25s) BMW: M3: 2:14.25 | 81.73 M3 GT2: 1:47.97 | 101.63 (-27s)
  4. Anyone interested in these? These are not the Variant 1, 2, 3 or the clubsport version, but part of KW Competition range (as per the suspension on the famed LOADED CSL and those used in 24 hour Nurburgring - except on Loaded it's 3 way, these are individual 2 way). Setup for use with slicks and full rear coilover conversion capable (currently standard separate spring and damper setup) NB - used for less than 1/3 season racing - still very new and checked over by Moton Suspension to be in excellent working condition - Photos available to genuine buyers. DON'T EXPECT THESE TO BE CHEAP. Retails for over 2300 British Pounds + VAT on the standard setup. These particular sets have been part of the CSL Cup spares in the UK. Strictly for racing or dedicated track work. PM if interested and I'll provide more details.
  5. "no one" refers to the landlord or the landlord's representatives.
  6. Not strictly correct. "Quiet Enjoyment" relates to the Landlord leaving the Tenants in peace. The law here is actually to do with derogation of grant (but this would only apply with common landlords) - where the landlord's action or inaction causes the grant of lease to be lessened - in this case her quiet enjoyment of the lease affected by a third party. Couple of things first: Does she have a common landlord with the neighbour? If not, then it becomes a whole new issue (becomes an issue in nuisance, which is a tort) So I am presuming she is on a 'fixed term' tenancy? Get her reading this first: http://www.dbh.govt.nz/tenancy-agreement#aid7 And call Tenancy Services to seek advice. She can of course always talk to the landlord first and try and come to a compromise. If she isn't on a fixed term (tell her to read her agreement - it might actually be a periodic and not a fixed term even when the parties think it is) - then all she needs is 21 days notice to terminate.

    CALLING F1 FANS

Fanatic right here!! I never miss a race (or practice 1, 2 and 3 for that matter - even if it isn't broadcasted on sky). Have never attended a race live - it's on my bucket list : ) [i'd love to be able to take a year off and follow the circus around the world - maybe if I win lotto] I think 2011 will be a make or break year for Schumie (great performance by him in Suzuka though - about the best he's been all year). There are talks that the tyre test post Championship might dictate whether he returns for 2011 - i.e. would the tyres be to his liking. What a great year of racing though and never before in the history of F1 have there been so many world class drivers in the field (bar a few second tier teams there to make up the numbers). Senna is a disappointment however - I personally don't think he's got the goods to be in F1 even if you put him in a red bull. If Schumie was in a redbull he'd be challenging for the title I am sure. The Mercedes car is rubbish. Hamilton is the current best driver in the field in my opinion. Vettle is full of talent but needs time to mature before he'll be great - he is on par with Hamilton in terms of skills. Button's just a pretty boy : P but a smooth driver. If Petrov wasn't Russian, he wouldn't be in F1. Webber wouldn't be anywhere near the top if it wasn't for Red Bull - he's been pretty average throughout his time in F1, I still think he's pretty average. McLaren needs to head hunt Adrian Newey. And here's my favourite action from the year so far ... "Red Bull gives you wings!!" End of Rant !!
  8. Loads cheaper than you'll get from the dealers Retail $469+GST I can get these for $250 each http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=321411066
  9. I've not checked up on E39 airbag systems, but I do believe that 2 stage inflation was introduced sometime during that era or shortly afterwards. I do also suspect that the E39 never received the now common and very sophisticated airbag systems that actually inflate at different rate of speed depending on occupancy weight (basically all the current generation BMW, hence why you can't actually just buy a sensor mat now if they crap themselves). Having said that I am a believer that if you want to get it fixed, you should get it fixed properly. There's a guy on trademe selling BMW seat occupancy sensors (they are for the E46 generation however) - perhaps ask him if he can get the E39 version - he has them for about $290. The occupancy sensors are quite easy to put in, once done it's just a matter of finding someone with a scan tool that can clear the code (or if you ever come up to Auckland I'd be more than happy to clear it for you on my GT1). Good luck.

Nice ride Dylan. Wheels are Bayern wheels. Although I'd recommend you check out the real nice WORK wheel on trademe right now with michelin cups! Absolute bargain!
  11. Thanks AJ Yes I never did sell mine - it was a moment of madness to think I would prefer a porker over the CSL None that I know of coming up for sale - There is always the potential of the Police Impound one coming up for sale anytime though - who knows. I am certainly keeping an eye out for that one!! If one does come up for sale, you can be sure that I'd post info about it up here to let everyone know. Correct - the last one sold was a finance company Repo - it's down in the South Island now. Thanks for the recommendation Dan Not sure if it's a deserving title though. And I am happy to report also that as far as I know, no CSLs were harmed during the recent Christchurch quake (one lived in the epi-centre of the quake too, so very lucky to get away without any damage whatsoever)
  12. Your car so you decide where it gets towed - a lot of tow companies will try this one out, if they won't tow it to your place call another tow company. You are not obliged legally to have it towed to their yard (unless it's a parking infringement in which case the council dictates where it gets towed to or if the police requests it be towed to a police crash investigation impound). I've never come across an insurance company that won't assess a car at home - in fact I've had a car assessed at home by the insurance company after it was towed back there after an accident. Grey area this one - if the police requested the vehicle to be towed to that particular yard pending investigation, then you won't be able to have it moved. If the police have no concern for it then you can have it removed any time from the yard. Best to have stuff like this in writing at the scene of the accident. I have only once had a car towed to a yard or a panel beater - all the rest of the times I've had to deal with accidents (either my own or for friends) I've had the vehicles towed to my destination of choice, be it a trusting panel beater or owner's home. If it's already there and they are charging you storage, have it removed ASAP (even if it's by another tow company - make sure you don't end up calling a sister company, a lot of tow companies are inter-related in one way or another) Towage is charged by each event - so in this case if you have it towed elsewhere you will be charged again (or if you are covered by insurance, they'll sort it out with the tow company directly or reimburse you afterwards.)

  16. Having seen and dealt with the after effects of drunken teens I say raise the f**ken age to 30 before you can legally buy alcohol ... And those that disagree can bite me .... you'll feel the same way if you had to sweep up 100+ smashed bottles and deal with the damage trail every single f**ken week. NZ teens just don't know when to stop drinking ...
  17. Think of it as taking all the best parts available from different manufacturers George haha .. Also if you need BMW diagnostics, let me know.
  18. Hey ... go back to NZhondas George
  19. Here's a little DIY I wrote for bimmerforums.com on the GT1 T30 Native install. Thought I would provide the link rather than replicate the post on here again. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showt...d.php?t=1513162
