Yup I use Oilchangers for a straight oil and filter. Full synthetic for $140 from memory

Hillcrest Auto Service according to Google. A couple of guys from work take their BMW's there and have good things to say. I think the guy is ex-BMW
-
I've used SD European out past Te Rapa with no issues. Also heard good things about the mechanic on Riverlea Road

It it helps I bought my 2000 MSport, done 90k a year ago for $11k. I thought it was a bargain

Lucky enough to go last year. A happy happy place!

I just put new rears on in that size. I was looking at mid range and the main options (in that size) were Nankang and GT Radial. I went with the GT Radial HPY which had better reviews than the Nankangs and have been fine to date. A bit of a step down from RE001's that were on, but can't complain about the value

$400 will go a fair way for a 3bdrm. Nawton, Melville Enderly and Frankton would be on my avoid list. In saying that I live in Fairfield which has it's share of problems in parts Nice newer suburbs out North, but if you're working in town, the traffic from out there builds up in rush hour

I paid $420 for a second hand V1.8 not long ago. Cords and packaging included

I'm also a big fan of "flooding" the paint. Makes it so much quicker and easier to dry. Example here although I suspect that guys has far too much spare time on his hands which is spent waxing his car

Yup, that's roughly what I get with mine

Loud bang today which sounded like it came from the right rear. Still seems to drive ok (gently) but seems to sit slightly lower on one side. Apparently rear coil failure is reasonably common on E46's so I'm guessing that will be the problem once I jack it up. Assuming it is, does anyone know a ballpark cost for replacements and installation? I'm guess aftermarket coils are going to be cheaper an easier than genuine motorsport ones. No doubt it makes sense to do both rear ones at the same time? I'd also be interested in any recommendations in Hamilton. Have used SD European in the past but a hassle to get out there. I'm wondering whether a suspension specialist is a better option than a BMW specialist Thanks in advance

Does sounds like torque converter. My Passat is currently in pieces having it rebuilt. Not a cheap job if you have to pay someone for it

Started and finished my own thread... Red and yellow wire is always on. Purple wire is switched. Hope it assists someone!

Hi all After much searching and looking at numerious DIY's I'm strugging to find a power source to hardwire my radar into my 2000 Jap Spec e46. Most of the overseas explanations have a green and blue power feed above the interior light but for whatever reason I don't. Unfortunately I don't have a multimeter/tester handy. Does anyone know which wire to tap into? I'm assuming it's one of the fatter ones but would rather not get it wrong Many thanks!

If he could afford the Merc he could have afforded a decent lawyer to challenge the decision. Suspect there is a fair bit more to the story than just falling aslepp.

Around $4.5k

I did the autobahns last year in a rusty diesel VW van. Disappointing when you top out at 130. The BMW facility in Munich (BMW Welt) is well worth a look. I unfortunately didn't make it to a tour but brilliant place. In terms of going for a thrash you can hire a BMW by the hour from there http://www.bmw-welt.com/web_rb/bmw-welt/en...d/overview.html just had a look and you can have a new M3 for 40 euro and hour plus some mileage if you do over 150km. Odd system as a day amounts to 4 hours and overnight is 2 hours Hope it helps

E46 front Suspension rear control bushes
330iMSport replied to stargirl.suter's topic in Maintenance
Had the same issue at my last warrant and at about the same k's. Was around $400 from memory for the control arm and putting it in. That also included a set of front pads though. -
Sold the wife's mint 318is coupe a couple of years ago. It had done 170k and gave us zero problems. Very uninspiring performance but comfortable to run around it. Got around $4k from memory

I paid $11k for 2000 import 4door Motorsport wtih 96k, but after a heap of hunting
-
I had the same issues. Not a simple fix unfortunately. Have a read through http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=37978 which sets out your options pretty much

Here's one I'd tracked down online which might help 330i_manual.pdf

Thanks Kerry Ended up swinging by Carspot on Friday and both banks were running lean. After a rummage over the weekend I noticed the dipstick wasn't fully in so my uneducated guess is that was the culprit. Can anyone clarify? My theory was air into the system after the MAF ends up with not enough fuel so running lean. It was then dumping extra fuel in to compensate which would explain my worsening fuel economy? Clearly I'm no mechanic but is that plausible? I'm still stuck with a check engine light on so would there be an easy way to check, other than resetting the light again and seeing what happens? Also, would I need a reset before the fuel economy came right or would it figure it out for itself if the dipstick was the problem? Any insights appreciated!
