  1. This has appeared recently about a block from my house... Very nice. Was it on TM recently?

Agreed, it's lack of competition in a smaller market the drives prices up. Seems (and probably is) unfair but it's not the only thing we pay through the nose for (mobile phones, broadband internet, etc). I think it's a pity that certain commodities are not priced commensurate to earnings in this country but I understand it. At the end of the day, some people will buy these commodities from overseas vendors and import them themselves to save money - and good on them - those that can afford it will probably still buy locally for convenience.
  3. What kind of palm and how big? I'm not an arborist but might be interested in sharing the cost if it can be relocated.

They wouldn't bother having sales people on the lots if there was no room to manoeuvre on price. You'd just buy it online and get it delivered to your door in your favourite colour combo!
  5. Does it matter what they built to meet market pressure as long as they keep building top notch high performance luxury road cars at the other end of the scale?
  6. Not just you... No pics.
  7. Thanks... Better than new even. Got the idea of the black bolts from a set of similar wheels that Brent HARTGE535i had. Really happy with the results and much prefer the black bolts to the original standard ones.
  8. Went on holiday for a few days so dropped my car off at Manukau Auto & Tyre Centre on the way to the airport to get the wheels done. They removed the stainless steel band and polished the lip, repainted the centres and caps in hyper silver and dipped (I think) the bolts to black. Very happy with the results. Cost $300 per wheel (compared to $450 quoted at Arrow for the same job). My car will be easy to spot, it's the one parked about 1m out from the curb!!
  9. I hear you, but to tell you the truth, my E39 restoration is never going to be a good investment!! haha Personally, not a huge fan of the OEM M5 wheels and definitely prefer my existing. I do like the 740s Westy referred to and I quite like LMs but a full set new is going to cost an arm and a leg and if I get a set that need restoring it's probably going to be much of a muchness with my existing wheels. Have decided to go with the cheaper option as I just can't justify the $450/wheel costs. The cheaper one does commit to redoing any job the customer's not happy with, so I guess I can't ask for more than that!
  10. Have you got some kicking around??! haha

    Box o' birds, mate.
  12. Great location for some photos but tough to find a time when there aren't bumper to bumper cars parked outside.
  13. What can I say? I'm a nuclear dad. Spend my weekends mowing the lawn, clipping the hedge and cleaning the car. haha
  14. Just looked... Can't see it. Not quite the right angle! hahaThe jam factory's one of my favourite buildings in Ponsonby, do you work in there? A mate of mine shares a studio on the top floor - awesome space.
  15. I'm sure I've seen a couple of white E30s on Brown St. I'll look out for one on BBS - I drive down there every morning when I drop my little lad at day care.
  16. I reckon the 2002 silver FL E39 was the best deal... But so did someone else and it sold for $12K. Pretty good for a mint looking E39 with less than 100,000 kms on the clock. Motorsport bumpers look better though.
  17. Bump... Gotta decided by tomorrow!
  18. Thanks... Bloody hard work keeping it clean on Richmond Road with no garage! What colour's your E30? There are quite a few around here, I'll look out for it.
  19. I take back what I said earlier. Looks good in these daytime pics... Wasn't sold on the colour combination in your first pic at night but these look great.
  20. Might be the night time shot but I'm not in love with the colour next to the wheels. That said, it looks like you've done a great job with the vinyl. Was it difficult? I dig the red wheels though!
  21. Spend the extra... I think it's $255 a wheel for Hyper Silver. Light or dark would like good on your car.
  22. Was just at Arrow. My impression is they would do a bloody good job. Personally, on those wheels I'd opt for slightly more expensive paint and go for the Bright Shine or one of the hyper silvers. If these aren't genuine they'd certainly look it after that!
  23. Saw it in Ponsonby at the weekend. I'm ashamed to say I know the driver. Let's just say he's exactly the sort of person that would drive this and not realise how offensive the wheels look. And speaking of offensive, I just saw a slammed white E38 with two thick black racing stripes over the whole thing in New Lynn. Hope it doesn't belong to a member. Wasn't my cuppa.
