It's just how the copper on 'Allo 'Allo says "bum".

I misread and thought it said 'grass' - which is of course top of Graham's list. Especially if there's a fresh dew.

I wouldn't take that as proof - If you google 'cough and high fever' you'll discover you've got AIDS.

Yep. Will try and fit them before Sat morning if I get time - or bring them along and do it there!

+1... E39 540i touring =

Sounds like you lucked in with a low kms 540i. I am extremely biased but they are awesome cars.

Opened my curtains this morning to see this... Better than a sunrise.

I bought a pintle and o-ring kit on eBay for $20 and got six injectors cleaned and refurbished for my old 528i for $25 each at Edgell on the North Shore. My regular mechanic said he can do for the same price for my V8. About the same price and I won't have to wait for them to go to and from the US.

Welcome Stu. I'm Gav's friend, Jooles. Pity you can't make it on Saturday but what a great car. I drove one at Hampton a few months back... Magic!!

Looking good Martin. Replacing the shadowline trim will be very expensive unless you find some good secondhand trim. You can sand and repaint it. The guy I recommended for your bumper would do a good job of that, I reckon, and for a lot less cash than new trim. I just replaced both the bumper undercarriage panels for mine (haven't fitted yet) for around $200 shipped from Schmiedmann.

Front or rear?

Yep, looking forward to it.

Some E46 M3 experts on here but this thread might be a good place to start: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/46213-e46-m3-values/. I expect you could pick up a high mileage E46 M3 for the kind of money you want to spend but then you'd have to expect to spend a fair bit more on maintenance. People sometimes forget that although these cars depreciate quickly the cost of parts and servicing stays the same. What about a supercharged 330ci with 89,000kms, M3 bodykit and a pretty sexy red interior? If it's as good as it looks on paper that could be a great buy!!

Not sure I want to know what exercises you want to 'show me' to improve my neck 'clench' power, Josh

Love E31s.... Beautiful machines. I will own one eventually and park it next to the E39 M5 I also intend to have in the garage!

Are you can keep the Luftwaffe livery? Looks pretty tough! haha
-
You're right but your voice does tighten when not in use... Some of those high notes might be a bit of a struggle at the moment! haha
-
It certainly is... Would be great to work on a couple of tracks with you, though I'm a bit out of practice!!

Superchips is a brand - think they're American but they have outlets all over the world. Yours probably came from the Australian outfit or wherever the car came from if it was imported. You should be able to contact them with the customer key that you have and they can trace it. Usually with company's like this they'll resend you the map for free if it somehow gets overwritten (by dealer, etc). My suggestion was to contact them, obtain the map, back up your current map, flash your ECU with the new one (Superchips can provide the software and cable you need) and, if it feels different you know it was running the stock map before reflashing. If it feels the same then it was running the Superchips map. And if you don't like it, flash it back to the original.

Either use spacers for the o2 sensor like these, which a couple of members have tried with good results or recode the ECU to South African where cats were not applicable (not sure how easy it is to do the latter):

In which case I'd recommend looking for a motorsport 320i. They are likely to be better optioned than a standard car and the engine should be pretty economical. I've not driven an E90 so can't help much but certainly with the newer models even the 325s and 330s are fairly good on gas and you generally find those cars have much better options. That said, you may not find one for that price with as low kms as the 320s.
-
Don't think you'll find it too hard to get a low kms E90 320i for $15K. If you want nice seats and gadgets look for a motorsport 320i or look at getting a car with a bigger engine (330s and 335s tend to be much higher spec so come with leather seats, reversing sensors/cameras, etc, etc). Guess it depends on what your priorities are - cheap to run, fun and/or luxury.

That could work. Surely you can't wrap the diffuser though? Wouldn't the heat just make it peel off? New suspension's not really in the budget for a set of aftermarket splitters! I'd just park like a douche miles from any curbs/barriers!

Thanks Martin, enjoyed yours too. You've got some serious drumming skillz.

I think that's part of the problem... I'm not a big fan of the carbon accents unless they serve a purpose (like the roof of your M3) and can't help thinking that it looks a bit out of place on my car. The vendor has offered to cover return shipping and swap for ABS version, so I might do that and blend into the original bumper... Eventually. Thanks. Don't worry, Michael, I definitely drive it... But you know what's it like... There's always more that can be done. I'd be spending it on performance but engine upgrades are on hold while I decide what to do with my mechanical warranty!
