  1. Excellent for cleaning previous owners' scum off your leather but won't restore worn or damaged leather. The pellecare kit is the business. Have enough to do my seats in the E39 just haven't got round to it yet as it's a full weekend job and needs 3-4 days drying time... With no garage, I've been fruitlessly waiting for a dry spell. To the OP, check out Paul's (Central3) thread - http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/43406-leather-refurb/?hl=leather - he had great results with the Pellecare stuff.
  2. Tape will only work if the spoiler is an absolutely perfect fit. I used Sikaflex and urethane bond and not it's rock solid.

    Rush

Yep, it's good.... Good balance of cars - for those of us that are interested - and drama - for those that aren't. I remember the actual races (or at least replays of them as a kid) and thought that the recreations were very believable. The guy playing Niki Lauda was spot on as well!
  4. Looks in pretty decent nick and sounds like the owner has kept well on top of maintenance including preventative. I'd say it'd cost a lot less than the Avus Blue one that was for sale recently (which I looked at). I'm interested in this but in Australia this week, so would imagine it will be gone by the time I get back at that price. Not a fan of the colour... Would want to put a few grand away to paint it!! haha

    E39 540i

Is it not a proper motorsport? Looks it... Seems to have m-sport bodykit, tech II suspension, motorsport wheels and trim. Some of the FL E39s came with painted trim... Can't say I care for it on a white car looks better on darker colours - white needs the contrast - but it is genuine. $14.5K's definitely too much but I reckon $12-13K's pretty good for a 2001 Motorsport 540i with only 115,000kms - as long as it's been well looked after.
  6. Good work. It's a PITA to get them perfect again... Mine are only surface good. Really need to crack the cases and do the inside of the lenses too. Might get the opportunity now I've discovered the adjusters are broken in one of my lights.

    E39 540i

Looks pretty tidy... It's been on there a while as it was overpriced. Still at the high end even for just 115kms which is probably why it's still on the market. Nothing out of the ordinary IMO, they're very solid cars just look for all the usuals: Service History Cooling system Suspension If possible try it when cold... Much easier to tell if it has problems like vac leaks, vanos seals, etc. A lot of the rubber and plastic components are likely to be on their way out by 115kms. I reckon $12-13K would be a fair price for this car if it's as good as it looks.
  8. Yep! Good to see it's gone to a good home. Great pics too.
  9. Bugger. Discovered today that the headlight adjusters in the passenger side headlights have broken which will have to be sorted before the next warrant. Anyone attempted to replace them themselves? It looks a bit of a PITA http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/19732-headlight-adjusters/?hl=%2Bheadlight+%2Badjusters+%2Be39 - don't mind giving it a go but if anyone knows anyone that can do it cheaply, I'm all ears!
  10. Yeah, nice. It was the Alpina leather trim that inspired mine. Pity this set's missing a piece otherwise I'd consider it... Although for $200 + shipping from the UK I reckon I could a decent job of leather trimming my own... Next DIY maybe?!

    E39 bits

no worries. Think you'd need to recolour the beige trim though... Don't think it would look right in your car otherwise.
  12. Having seen (and heard) Michael's car I can honestly say... It's EPIC!
  13. I'll keep an eye out for you and your very nice car! The owner of that M5 works on Surrey Crescent. Wa thinking of buying it and took it for a spin the other day. There's a building next to the Laundromat that has storage for classic cars.

    E39 bits

$75... But to you, Arma... $95. Nah, kidding. $75 would be great. I paid just over $100 to get them here and had intended to redye the trim when I was doing the 528i interior but flicked off the 528i before I got around to it. The new one's got charcoal not black flooring so these don't work, otherwise I'd keep them.
  15. haha! Thanks... Pretty much anything looks awesome when you've got Tom's M3 CSL in the shot though!
  16. I'll check with the guy I got mine from, in the meantime you could look at these: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/wheels-tyres/alloy-wheels/auction-642355136.htm Or ask this guy if he's got any wheels: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/interior/auction-643517458.htm
  17. Thanks, happy to take some pics of yours... Would be great to get some pics of it lined up with mine and Martin's M5 (BreakMyWindow) at the dyno day in a couple of weeks. Will bring the camera. It's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3.
  18. Thanks mate. A lot of them don't start out mint though! If yours is the poor cousin now give it a few months and a lot loving and it'll soon be the rich uncle! Also get Photoshop and a nice camera! hahah
  19. From TradeMe... Think it was a one off but I'l check with the guy I bought them from. What are you looking for?
  20. Certainly do... Showroom - http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/45031-2000-e39-540i-motorsport/ Project - http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/44606-e39-v8-restoration/
  21. And it will stay that way, buddy!
  22. I'll bear it in mind, thanks, but I think Glenn was suggesting Pablo would take better care of my wife, not my car!! Cheers, very happy with the exterior now still got some work to do under the hood on the interior... Will do the interior myself so I don't have to lie about the cost! haha
  23. Jesus Christ, lads... I'm not dead yet!
  24. Actually, I personally am too... My mechanic (who is a friend of my wife's) sent me that pic. I thought it was pretty funny.

    E34 ACS 540i

My E39 540i doesn't do any better than that around town (and sometimes a lot worse if it's short trips from cold) but manages around 10-12 on longer trips... If I don't have too much fun. EDIT: Great looking car by the way, hopefully I'll see it at the dyno day!
