  1. That's looking pretty funky!
  2. Was just thinking. Isn't this m5 the same colour as the one Ray used as a donor for 8M3 ?
  3. Couldn't agree more. Normally I dislike woodgrain (got it on my 520), but with that interior it actually looks pretty awesome.
  4. ^this You're one looks much nicer DaveO. Regardless, I wouldn't complain about having a piece of this one
  5. I'm guessing with something like this it wouldn't be unlikely to have to put in a few grand of maintenance to bring it up to decent condition
  6. I think could be a pre-prod car. Apparently: "These codes are most commonly found before the actual production starts. However they may also be used when there are significant changes made to an existing model. For instance you will find both codes on facelift M%s that are built before 9/2000. Even with some smaller changes they may still carry the code 991. Such as Audio systems, specific colours etc. The factory always do a pre-series run (at least 1 car) There are Le-Mans blue m5s built already in 1999 for example."

Cheers. And whoops, had Adobe Lightroom automatically applying one of my old presets. Here's the raw photo from the camera (well.. a resized one, since the camera .RAW image file is like 20mb)

Put on the new euro plates today. Guess I will see how long they last for before I'm pulled over

    E39 540i

Was having a look at that car as well not too long ago, but didn't go to see it in person. Based on their listing I was wondering why the steering wheel is the old/pre facelift steering wheel (the one commonly found in <2000 e39s) despite being a 2001 model? Haven't had a 540i but based on my experience with e39s I suppose one thing would be to have a look at the cooling system and what state it's in / whether any preventive maintenance was done. e.g. any coolant leaks, thermostat working etc.
  12. Glad to see it remains within the community. Looks fantastic!

    E39 bits

I'll have a look at my current mats and see if I like them... for some reason forgot what they look like. If I don't like em, I'll let you know and grab your ones

How much for the mats if you still have them?

  17. Hell yea it is. It's more that I would have no free time to drive it back anyime soon.
  18. Sucks that you have to sell it. Such a beautiful machine. If only you were in Auckland i'd be pretty tempted.

    That is gorgeous.
  20. Thanks guys. Yeah your solutions/methods seems to do the trick for now. Haven't gotten a single thud/vibration since I've put car on park in that sequence.
  21. I've always used Prima Panelbeaters on Harris Rd, Botany

    Benz E63 AMG

Congrats! Good to see that got brought into the community. Yea, what's the condition like? Keen for some photos
  23. I take it you got it . Congrats! *must hide jealousy*
  24. So occasionally i hear a large thud when changing from park to reverse gear. Anyone know what that might be or is that just normal? It's quite loud. The lever requires slightly more force to get to reverse as well (not much but definitely a bit more than whev it doesn't make a thud sound)
