Sorry, I should have put the comment into context. If you'r budge was around $600 - $800 for the whole system then Sony speakers would serve the purpose. If you wanted a system $1000 - $1500 then Infinity, JBL, Alipina would be ok. $2000 + system then DLS speakers, Apms, proper speaker wire etc. etc. eg. wire alone on my system was running excess of $300, 2 subs running 1000wrms each etc.. 3 amps, cap, blah blah. but it's all relative to what you want to do, what end goal you have in mind. If you want nice sound, minimal distortion then 2-way, 3-way components, decent head unit, maybe 1 amp to bridge your speakers etc. Blast you ears off system... another story all together :D Let us know what speakers you decide on!! Laurence.

If you don't want to pay an arm & a leg then maybe JBL, Infinity? I'd recomend to stay away from Sony if you can (if you want good quality) If you want excelent quality?? DLS speakers all the way!! They will cost you a bit, no.. a lot more than you're average set of speakers but will pretty much out perform anything else on the market (SQ + SPL). A good set would set you back around $600 - $700+ I'd recomend running an amp of around 150rms. (It would be a waste of time to run a nice set of front components off your head unit) I was running some DLS competition 3way speakers. Pushing 140dB with sub's set-up and only had them maxed up to 3/4 volume EVER, absolutely NO distortion.. Can't wait to install then into the e30 M3 soon. they also have a really small magnet design so allow for shallow mounting. Let us know how you get on. Laurence.

Definately check all the fuses!!! If your life depends on it that take to a car sounds shop and get them to check everything over. may be as simple as a disconnected ground wire or shorted out power wire etc. Also, re-install the battery . Laurence. -
Thanks for the bids so far guys!! . wheels are now at $1000 already. Laurence.
-
Thanks Yuen . I'm hoping to sell the wheels to someone from Bimmersport. At least I know they'd go to a good home . Happy Bidding!!! Laurence.

Hey guys, $1 Reserve. Genuine Alpina mag wheels. Interested?? read on!!!! Well the mags didn't sell last week on Trademe and unfortunately, I now, no longer have any room to store the wheels as the spare room is being used as a bed room. These are going to sell this auction. Only have a $1 reserve price. Crazy I know but i'm forced to do this so here ya go. Im looking for $1500 and have the buy-now at $1599 purely to help cover the cost of sellers fee on trademe. Hope that these wheels go to a good home. SO get in and place ya bids ppl!!!! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...0372066.htm?p=9 Thanks, Laurence.

** BUMP** Reserve price has almost been met.. Get any bids in now guys before these wicked mags sell. IM also selling my opersonalised plate, viewable on 'other items for sale'. That too is almost at reserve. Thanks, Laurence.

Thanks, I hope i've set a fair price on them . Would love to keep the ALPINA'S but guess they're going to a new home. Just hope they sell on Trademe with no hastles. Laurence.

Hey guys, I've finally had to bite the bullet and put the 17" Alpina rims up for sale on Trademe.. Couldn't bring myself to load a $1 reserve auction so I decided to run an auction with a low reserve (just over $1000) for the whole set. Would love to keep them but can't fit on the e30 M3 without spacers. Check the auction out..!!! I'd really like to sell these a.s.a.p so am open to offers from BimmerSport members. Just send me a PM. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...061&ed=true Thanks, Laurence.

Whos owned or seen a ex Japanese E30 M3?
Old_Skool_Bmw replied to Golfboy666GTI's topic in General Discussion
Given that the part states this was for an E30 M3 with a Catalist converter in the exhaust that tells me this was a USA spec E30 M3. Onluy The USA version was cat converted (on some models) to comply with emissions. Have you also checked out the RHD E30 M3 on Trademe?? It gives S**T all details about the conversion (in my opinion something that should be VERY WELL documented).. but you could pick up a RHD M3 for maybe $30k. (Prefer the LHD original thou) Hopes this helps. Laurence. -
Not the best picturs when you're trying to sell a classic e30 m3.. Would be important to know what steering rack + header work was done. Be keen to kno if he has bent primary 2 & 3 to fit around the steering knuckle or had new headers custom made. Also if a z3/e36 m3 rack was used or a standard e30 3 series rack. The add seems to lack the important info I think. (and decent pics) That Red is hot!! Laurence.

he never replied to my emails when he offered me $1500... wchich I would be happy to accept as an offer. Will bump this thread when I've put them on Trademe tomorrow night. Laurence.

Also out of interest what would you guys consider to be a far price?? Maybe $1500 for the set/ $2600 with brand new tyres Eagle F1's fitted + balanced? Im thinking or having either a $1 reserve auction or setting a reasonable reserve but having a low start bid.. I would rather sell with a reserve price just incase the $1 reserve auction didn't go to plan. Thanks, Laurence.

hey guys, Yes they are still for sale.. Offset looks like its e40 5stud. They came off my uncles e36 3 series. Wasn't a M3 but i've had them on dad's e36 M3 and they fitted fine (and looked damn hot!!!) I originally wanted them for my e30 M3 but need 25-30mm spacers and don't want to go down that road if I can help it. Really want to get some BBS RS rims so im selling these to 'part pay' for the BBS RS rims. Im open to offers. If i get a reasonable offer then i won't put them onto Trademe as would prefer to sell A.S.A.P Laurence.

Hey guys, I'll be putting some Alpina 17's (old 20 spoke classic style) up for sale on Trademe this week.. (link to auction to come) They don't have tyres with them but I have a deal for some Eagle F1's for just over $1000 for the set i can throw them on when i sell the wheels if needed. Im just keen on some feedback before I put them on Trademe. I'm just not too sure what a fair price for the rims would be as I haven't seen any Aplina rims for sale for ages. Will post some pics up in the next few days. They are all pretty good cond't. All centre caps etc supplied. Thanks, Laurence.

Did you get the PM ok 'Phil Ken Sebben'?? Laurence.

PM sent. Laurence.

Re: the exhaust on trademe. I've heard its well worth the money investing on a really good quality muffler if you have a 4cyl engine. reason is the back pulse + hi-revving 4's will rattle the S**t out of anything half-crap. I've just ordered this system for my e30 M3 from Germany. Hopefully I don't have any problems It was relatively cheep as was an extra system bought in from another e30 m3 owner. I'm hoping that I don't have too many problems trying to get a warrent with it on as from what i've been told it's pretty similar spec to the race-spec Supersprint exhaust system. X-Pipe 2 x 50mm pipes straight through DTM style muffler http://luckym3.gmxhome.de/my_m3/Auspuff/1.jpg Laurence.

Hi Guys, I have a set of really good condition Alpina mags (old 20 spoke style) and before I put my set of Alpina mags up for sale in the other forum I'd be keen to find out a few things. The mags are: 2 x 17x8J H2 e46 2 x 17x9J H2 e46 I'd love to run them on my e30 M3 but i'd be required to run 30mm hubcentric bolt-on hub adaptors to lower the offset enough to get them on. It's going to cost too much and i'd rather run some BBS RS 16's or 17's with correct offset. (Im happy to trade for BBS RS or BBS STyle 5's + cash diff if needed) I could either: - Sell them how they are now OR - Have them fully refurbushed/painted for an additional $500-$600 What sort of price can I expect to get for the set of 4 rims? I know what I paid for them and i'd like to get a good price as i'll need to buy some new wheels once these are sold. but Im keen for some imput first. Thanks, Laurence.

As long as you carry around the original plates in the car wouldn't it be ok to just switch the plates over if needed? They're always looking for ways to make extra $$ on fines. Laurence.

It has the US side indicators. Laurence. -
Hi Golfboy666.. The 'H' pattern gearbox is original for the US Spec e30M3's. to be hoest you're probably going to have more luck getting a US car than a euro car + shipping involved would put the cost up. Im waiting for the law change before I can put mine on the road here in NZ.. Have you found anyone that has any e30 m3's for sale?? Laurence.
-
Yikes.. I hope that wasn't an m3 with s50 engine. Would make more sense to spend the $$ on airbox, computer + cams and it's run o much better than this would. I don't mind rota's if they're in jap cars but an e36??? Laurence.
