  1. damn thats sexy!!! You better be bringing it down to Welly sometime in the future. wouldn't mind seeing it in the flesh! sounds like you scored a pretty good deal, will be a nice investment i'd say!! Keep us updated with pics when you get it in the country. Lauerence.
  2. You sure that would work?? Not trying to kill ther party but as far as I was aware (and I work in insurance) the vehicle had to be insured by the 'legal owner' of the vehicle. If you are a joint owner then thats ok.. but it's something i'd check out b4 doing mate! Sure they might do a discount if your parents have insurances but I'm pretty sure the car would have to go into YOUR name. If yo do call them to check, let me know how you get on (just don't want you to have a cliam and be declined any cover for non-disclosure of ownership of the vehicle etc etc). Laurence.
  3. V. Lucky.. Wasn't even wearing a helmet! Maybe next time he will leave the burnout's to the driver to do Laurence.
  4. I'd buy this if i could, but somehow i don't think $100k would be enough http://www.marcopolomotorsports.com/rally/index.htm My picks: 10K - Merc 190e Cosworth/ 88' Ford RS2000 20k - Ducatti 999 100k - Porche 911 00' Laurence.
  5. Hey Si, I'll update the "Myster Drive" thread later on today and note you as a possible.. I think there are a few members in Hawkes bay that i'll Pm and see if they are keen also. It's going to be a great day!! I'm sure that if you can make it to the "Mystery Drive" we have on the 28th then a few of us would most definately oblige and come along to your drive if it's postponed to a different weekend Hope to see you there!!! Laurence.
  6. Hi All, http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....t=0#entry139122 We've had a good response to the thread already. I know there are some people who may need a car/passenger to make it to the drive.. If you want to come on the "Mystery Drive" but need a ride/passenger to make it then post up details in the thread as there are other members who may be able to help out/share the driving for the day. Keep checking the thread, it's looking really good so far Laurence.

    We lost...

The French scored 10pts while the AB's had 14 players on the field.. If only the ref hadn't have made that sin bin call and if he had picked up the forward pass then I think it would have been a completly different outcome! Oh Well.. 4 more years to wait now. Laurence.

  10. Hey, If you want to give me a PM with your contact details i'll get a mate of mine, who works in THL, to give you a call.. I might even be able to do something for you for House, Contents, Vehicle. Laurence.
  11. Count me in!! Just replied to the thread.. IMO next Sunday 7th October would work perfect. How many cars would you want to organise to go on the run?? Laurence.
  12. Sweet as bro! Alawya a good idea to note down when you called them etc.. They will have the calls on file so IF you ever need to get the pulled (listened to). Im picking if you did the declaration etc verbally then they have to stand by whatever they told you when you signed up. I had heaps of trouble with the e30M3. Trying to tell me it was a M325i etc etc.. Laurence.
  13. Is that from PioneerInsurance?? Not trying to question you but I work in insurance and had a look at their policy wordings. Looks like a market value insurance.. IJust celled them to check and they do Market value insurance. BTW they wouldn't insure me due to mods on the e30M3.. See link below for their policy wordings: http://www.pioneerinsurance.co.nz/Download...icy_M060707.pdf Page 4: "“Market Value†Means the retail value of the Vehicle immediately before the loss or damage." Page 6: "If Your Vehicle is economic to repair We will repair it as set out below. If it is uneconomic to repair, We will settle Your claim as a total loss as set out below. We will decide which one applies. We may elect to first If We decide to pay You its market value: Ø We will advise You of our best estimation of the market value of Your Vehicle at the date of the loss or damage. Ø You may provide alternative valuations which We may agree to accept." Looks like a Market Value insurance to me. Laurence.
  14. Called them for a quote on my e30 M3 (for when it's road legal) and checked their policy wordings while i was on the phone to them. Looks like they only do a market value cover so you may not get the price you specify when you take out the cover.. Basically they pay you either the market value you give them when you start the insurance OR the market value at time of loss, whichever is the lesser value. they have to get back to me via email due to the mods on the car, lol. Laurence.
  15. just picked me up a 92' nissan pathfinder. beach cruiser here we come!! Going to be installing the following this weekend 2 x 2000w pioneer (750w rms) subs w/custom sub box.. 2 x 1000wrms 'D' class amps few metres of 4g power wire, big arse fuse etc haha, it's definately nothing flash.. im not even worried about speakers. Will have a dig around to see if i can find some 2way 5's or sumthing. As i couldn't sell the subs earlier this year im planning to just run them in the 4x4 and sell with the truck later in the year. Only bought the truck so i can tow my e30m3 up from CHCH in October. i'll get some pics up this week guys. haha should be a fun little project. not too worried about speakers at this stage. probably going to stick in some old 300w pioneer 6x9's. not putting anything flash in like my DLS speakers. don't suit the car. just curious, has anyone else done any 4x4 installs?? im expecting a s**t load more bass then i had in my 190e due to no wall in the way. (it's just like having 1 bigarse cabbin of sound in a 4x4) Laurence.
  16. sounds to me like you need to get youself a manual!!!! + they are a heap more fun (i just find auto's too boring after buying the e30 M3). Laurence
  17. haha yeah i was downshifting heaps driving it pretty hard!! Um i could tell it was overheating with it started to smoke from under the car haha.. but i guess the car had also done over 300,000kms.. Laurence.
  18. i drove my old 325i auto like a manual for a day.. until the auto fluid started to overheat and i almost blew up on me . better to get a manual conversion i say auto's are too boring for me. Laurence.
  19. yeah thats Ollie's car. I talked to him today on that Ford Rs forum.. Im actually after an RS Turbo not a Cosworth cos i can't afford to buy a cosworth, the RS Turbo is more my price range. haha i'd buy a cosworth if i could afford thou.. I used to have a Merc 190e cosworth (a bit different i know) Anyone know of any RS Turbo's for sale??? Laurence.
  20. Hey guys, im trying to get hold on a Ford RS Turbo.. anyone know of any for sale atm?? Just keen on one as a daily driver while I get the e30M3 sorted Thanks, Laurence.
  21. I think that it comes down to the younger generation of drivers thinking they are bullet proof!! To me it comes down to young drivers being taught to respect the road and respect the Privelage of being able to drive a car. It's also common sense. We need to have harsher penalities on ppl that Drink & drive also. take away their licence for longer, have harsher financial penalties etc. I personally would NEVER Drink & Drive because: (A) Of the way i was brought up around cars by my parents since the day i satrted to drive. It's probably been one of the main things my parents drilled into me from the day i got my licence when i turned 15 and so it's something i'd never consider doing. ( I've had the experience of having a friend (18yrs old) who was killed by a drunk driver Just my 2c. Laurence.
  22. Agreed... I'd only ever put that sort of money into an e3 m3 if i was going to spend that sorta money on ANY e30. Laurence.
  23. Cheers bro, Some good links you've posted up.. If I was able to get hold of some nice SR2's and the fabric to re-trim then i'd consider getting it done here in Welly. Will keep you updated as will be looking into this a bit more probably sometime in October. Laurence.
  24. yeah, 20K on an e30 is a bit OTT lol.. Like was mentioned by Rogan, if you get some big speakers you're probably looking at some custom work to fit 2 or 3-way speakers & get nice sound. The stock speaker positions wer'nt my fav thing about the e30. From personal preference, i'd recomend DLS speakers !! They have wicked sound quality. My set of speakers set me back over $1000 but were 3-way, 2-way won't cost as much and they do some really nice sets for far less money. Check out: DLS Classis series (model - B5A) or (model - C5A) - 2-way 5.25" 50wrms/80w max 60 - 18,000hz http://dls.alfredo.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_41 Next step up: DLS Reference series (model - MS5A) or (model - R5A) - 2-way 5.25" 80wrms/120w max http://dls.alfredo.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_59 Or: DLS Ultimate UP5 - 2-way 5.25" 120wrms/180w max 60 - 20,000hz 55 - 20,000 hz http://dls.alfredo.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_64 Don't be fooled by the low watt values, they do go really hard!!. Im down in CHCH next weekend at XPS III (paintball tournament). PM me your cell and i'll give you a txt if you wana talk sounds etc. I'll also put you onto a good mate of mine in car audio business Laurence.
  25. I was running standard 2way front's & some rear speakers w/sub in my old e30 BUT first things first.. What budget are you working with here?? Also do you need headunit + speakers or do you have some gear already? Are you wanting a big bass system or something with better sound quality?? Post up some info and we'll be more than happy to help you out Laurence.
