  1. M3_Power - If I order thru Recaro.com and get them brought in by the company in Auck's they are made up at Recaro with leather/swede, so no re-trimming needed. They come ready to bolt on. I've also looked into buying 2nd hand seats to re-trim, Cost of material + laobur it actually works out to a similar price. Old seats re-trimmed/new seats = same price (seams more logical to go brande new gear). If i do a few other things i'll be able to score a good deal on materials to re-trim the rear seats, headlining & carpet. Laurence.
  2. it's a PITA as I don't "NEED" the recaro seats but in my opinion they look the best in the e30 m3 + were original in the e30M3 sport evo.. I guess given that they are leather/swede and for $1600 when you're quote was $1500 for cloth, that doesn't sound toooo bad. It just means that if i soend that much on seats the rest of the interior would need to follow the same $$ guide. Laurence.
  3. Check my first post. the company i called in Auckland specialise in Recaro made child seats etc. Laurence.
  4. Just had an email and from 'Retro Vehicle' in Auckland to get Leather/swede im looking at $1600inc each!! I know that reclinable bucket seats are generally a bit more expensive then fixed seats.. just not too sure about $1600ea. I guess it's because it will be leather/swede. Any thoughts guys?? Laurence.
  5. I also checked out the sets of HR coilovers on turnermotorsports.com. they have had pretty good feedback on some overseas sites like s14.net. Im looking at getting some coilovers in, maybe at the end of the year. let me know what you find out Laurence.
  6. yeah.. hoping to do a full resto on my e30 M3. just finished the engine, now on to the interior. Haha, i have a feeling it's not going to be cheep :S:S Laurence.
  7. Dont know if you remember a guy called Merlin? was ages ago.. maybe even Form 3? or even before that.. Laurence
  8. Yeah i've checked Trademe. Im really after brand new seats as I will be going for show quality interior, any second hand seats would probably require some bolster work + re padding. Im also going to be getting the seats in Black leather + swede (grey or tan) so cost of fitting materials to existing seats wouldn't end up being that cost effective. Really after any dealers who bring in Recaro products. Laurence.
  9. So what happens when you have an at fault accident, cause damage to vehicle/property and get done for Liability, fixing company car & any other bills like road clearing costs, salvage etc??? Are you not covered at all..... "cringe" Maybe it's me?? because I work in insurance and see vehicle claims of $1,000's every day. You shoud have some sort of cover bro! better to pay a little for insurance than pay a lot for an accident. Laurence.
  10. Lol, all good Emm.. haha i figured it looked a bit cocky right after i'd posted. All good thou. Laurence.
  11. Hey guys, I've checked Recaro's web site and see that there is ony 1 listed dealer in NZ for Racaro Reclinable seats. I'm wanting to upgrade my stock e30M3 seats with Recaro SR's (similar to the e30 M3 Sport Evo).. I've only found: RETRO Vehicle Enhancement Ltd. 27 MacKelvie Street NZ- Ponsonby, Auckland Im waiting for a quote from these guys, just wondering if anyone knows of any other NZ dealers (prefer in Wellington). Thanks, Laurence.
  12. yeah i used to go to school with this guys son.. remember David gave me a ride home in his old Porsche one day after school, maybe 6-7yrs ago lol. That thing was insanely fast!! Haha and he likes to drive... really really Fast. He's definately got a few nice cars Don't see any M3's thou Laurence.
  13. Thats one thing i love bout euros, the battery is in the boot . Argh, stay away from the cig lighter, its not too big a job to run a wire from the battery + you will need to run an RCA cable anyways so you'll have to run that down the car anyways. Let us know how you get on. Laurence.
  14. Sucks when you have to sell a nice car .. Hope you get a good price on TradeMe. Are you still living out in Kelburn? I'd be keen to go for a ride in it before you sell. Laurence.
  15. hey bro, so you picked up the car in the end huh.. hows it running?? I'll have to come ova and go for a drive in it sometime. Laurence.
  16. Speakers - $950 (RRP $1300 about 3 months ago) Head Unit - $950 (RRP $1600 when purchased 3 months ago) If you want both together $1800 (RRP $2900) ** The speakers come with an extra set of grills for the 6.5", 3" & Tweeter has an extra mounting dish IIRC. ** Thanks, Laurence.
  17. Nice, You can have the subs and the box for $450 or the box on it's own for $350, which includes a spare set of ports. Would like to sell the subs + box together if i can. Also means you'll have a spare set of subs incase you blow the first lot Laurence.
  18. What happened to the good ol' days of the e30 M3 when it was a TRUE racing car :) and way different compared to the e30 of the time.. ( and i know it was a requirement for the DTM racing thats how it came aboout) but I just thing they should make the next M3 a real drivers car + heeps different to the standard 3 series etc and maybe go back toe roots of what the M3 series was all about when it began in the 1980's, might just give it some added incentive as being a "special M3" or something like that. Laurence.
  19. Quick someone, sponsor her a horse!! so we can save the Mtech :D Nice looking ride there Em, GL with the sale (if it sells). Hope it all works out for you. These things are getting harder and harder to find in good condt. Edit: hope you bumped up the buy now price on trademe if you still have the bimmersport.co.nz sticker in the rear windscreen, lol. Adds to the overall value you know. Laurence.
  20. Hey guys, If you're looking for some really nice gear for your car audio install, or are keen to upgrade some gear then read on!!! I recently sold my old car and due to ongoing projects i'm seriously considering selling some of my sounds. Can either part out the gear or would work out a deal for multiple things. More things you want the cheeper it is(you get the idea). Things I'm selling: JVC 6.5" full colour Head unit - DVD/CD/MP3 player (KW-AVX700) DLS Ultimate 3-way speakers (UP36) (these things sound AWESOME!!!) EAudio 1000D (D class) amp x 2 EAudio 480AB amp ** I also have 2 Pioneer 2000w 800wrms subs in a $400 sub box, twin ported, can provide pics, specs. From memory it's tuned to around 50-55hrtz. This was built for a 190e so may fit e30 boot, will fit a 190e like a glove!! not too sure on other cars but i'll send dimensions if interested. Subs are for sale too. May consider selling my Tsunami 20farred cap but this thing is MINT. Used it for about 10mins and only ever installed for 1 day. ** All of this gear has only had between 2-8hrs play all up, apart from the subs which are a bit older. They still go really nice as hardly ever had a chance to use them. I had the Head-Unit + speakers installed for 2 weeks. Subs were in the sub box for maybe 2 weeks before that. I only ever used the car a few times while the gear was in as no alarm. Had it at one car show (speakers were un-plugged as was a dB run - 138dB). The most I have had the Amps at (1000d's) is 1/2 gain and this was pushing my subs to the limit (Pioneer's 800wrmw). All the gear is in mint condition and hardly used. Un-installed the gear soon after the car show as I had an offer on the car & sold it soon after that. I'd love to keep the head unit but can't fit it into the single-din slot in my project e30. Am also wanting to change speakers to 2-way as not wanting to cut holes for the extra tweeter. Amps are not required as will be fitting a pretty mint exhaust so I see no need for D-Class amps :D:D. Open to offers guys, feel free to post in here or PM me. Any comments welcome. Thanks, Laurence.
  21. Hey Emm, I has the same problem with my 325. Ended up having to replace the barrels, expensive $$$. But you could always get the Driver side & passenger side switched like posted earlier. Would save you the $$$ of buying new parts or getting a new barrel cut to match your keys. Laurence.
  22. I've had both 190e cosworth, e30 325. If you're in the market for a general low cost euro then i'd go e30 unless you can get a manual 190e. If yuo're willing to spend a little more money then try pick up a 190e cosworth. Mine was heaps of fun, drove really nicely & was pretty quick for what it was. They go for arounf $8500+, good condt. will be $9K+ I never had any problems with the 190e, and only owned it for several months, whereas I had the e30 for around 4yrs. I'd be asking myself: What do I want the car to for, (weekend cruiser/hack car/daily driver) How much will I budget for the car, Cost or parts to replace motor, body panels etc. If you know these figures then GL and hope you find a car you like. Let us know how you get on. Laurence.
  23. Any luck getting something sorted for your ride yet?? Also a good point.. what is your budget for the sounds?? then we might be able to narrow down your options a little Laurence.
  24. ONLY 2 HOURS TO GO!!! GET YOUR BIDS IN BECAUSE THESE MAGS WILL SELL TODAY!! BIDS SITTING AT 1K RIGHT NOW! Laurence
