  1. Hey all, after a 5 speed transmission either from a M50B25 motor or a M20 Getrag etc if anyone has anything that will bolt up to an M50 and keen to sell please let me know. Also need everything to convert my E30 to manual (master/slave cyl, pedal box, clutch line etc) Cheers, Luke
  2. Hey guys have found a Getrag 5 speed transmission and the seller says it suits a e32/e34 bmw from a 535 or something. This will bolt up to a M50B25 correct? Cheers, Luke

  9. M50 2.5L mate. Doesnt matter now my mum is still in rotorua for the weekend so shes gonna take her bf to have a look at it for me pretty much got it as long as it all checks out. Luke
  10. Just wondering if there is anyone in the Rotorua area that could help out? I need someone to check out a motor for me before i buy it. Just need the kms to be verified on the dash and just a quick look over the motor. Not running at the moment so just a look on the outside to see the condition of it etc Cheers, Luke
  11. Yea I have been to most of those sites except the last one, had a good look through that last one seems very helpful so many different variations im trying to find the most simple/cheapest, not that the most simple will be the cheapest lol. As for mounting the engine on a slightly different angle you will have to customise your mounts, im guessing the reason the engine is on such an angle already is for clearance of your bonnet etc. in other words the motor is to tall to sit straight up and down vertically. Also you will run into the problem of your sump not being nice and level which would possibly cause oil pickup problems etc.... correct me if im wrong? Better off modifying or using the right gearbox I figure. ps. Jonty m50e30, would you mind throwing a pic up off how your gear lever sits inside your car? Cheers, Luke
  12. Roughly how much did it cost you to have the gearbox altered Andrew? Might try and find a M50 ZF 5spd i supose they are rather rare though? Otherwise I may have to opt out for the modified Getrag 260 or do what you did Jonty. HAve you got pics on your build or any info that would help me out like a parts list. Most part lists I have read are in the UK and probably harder to find some of those parts here in NZ. Should do more research before I ask really but cheers for the info guys Luke
  13. Still trying to work out what gearbox to use on the M50 for my E30 have read so many different recomendations and setups but none of them really go into deepth on whats required for each setup. I know that the Getrag 260 bolts up fine etc but has about a 10-15deg angle therefor making the gear lever an annoying anlge correct? Anyone have the best recomendation for what I want to do or is there a way to solve the angle problem with the Getrag 260? Luke
  14. You have been pm'd - Theres a bonnet there which could be prepped and painted - Have the front grills that run along the front of the car between the headlights etc also the chrome centre grill - Have front headlamp units etc - Have the diff, driveshaft and axles etc wouldnt mind keeping the diff but if someone wants it, its there Surely somebody needs these parts. Cheers, Luke
  15. I swear ive seen a write up on here about this swap... Either that or it was on a Euro forum have searched through many pages can anyone point me in the right direction or have the link? Cheers, Luke
  16. Bump... will be getting her scrapped at the end of the week otherwise
  17. And if they wanted to keep the gearbox in good nick? Dont see why it was so stupid if the motors on the way out anyway nothing wrong with a bit of fun haha always interesting to see how long a motor can last on limit
  18. Thats so dope bro looks so mint not OTT nice work love the colour them being carried on into the engine bay, as for me im all thumbs up for modified E30's like to see owners going out of the ordinary and producing rides such as this and the SR being such a well performing motor. Good effort man alot of time and effort obvious here good luck with the sale!
  19. From the inside of the bellhousing just like on a manual trans. Must be about 20 17mm bolts rough estimate, behind where the torque converter sits in the bellhousing. Na sorry man i dropped my camera last week didnt even think to take pictures..
  20. Well wat do ya know i swapped bellhousings over and the centre plate that the oil feeds attach to and she bolted straight up into my car! So you can swap bell housings over guys for future reference. Will it matter if i dont have that speedo 85km cut out sensor plugged in? Cheers, Luke
  21. Yup its central looking but i took one of the motors out cut the wiring before i owned the car. Think i still got both motors somewhere. Dont have mtech sideskirts i dont think the front bumper i think has a factory lip tho but needs alot of TLC may not even be worth anything dunno and nah its Auto box is mint in it if anyone is after a pre f/l auto 318i box S.I Batteries?
  22. Believe me in the long run you will end up spending more than 2k. I thought I could get away with doing a cheapy on my lil old Integra and ended up spending atleast 10k and that was not upto scratch. Firstly bought a cheap kit off trademe which consisted of a manifold, downpipe, t3/t04e turbo, replica 38mm wastegate, gaskets and bolts etc that was $1400 Then you add on the 3" exhaust which cost about $120 to make with the help of Dad. Interooler cost $500 and piping was about $250 all allloy 2" with free welding still not cheap. Oil feed to turbo was $90 from hydrolink. Oil drain prob cost about $40, fittings atleast $100 spent, chipped my own ecu which saved alot but wasnt very reliable (only a base map) hose clamps about $80 spent. Walbro fuel pump cost $200 second hand VR4 injectors providing 450cc were $150 second hand. Cert cost $400 and then of course it failed and had to spend money rebuilding brakes which cost about $560. The on top of that the clutch pretty much s**t itself once the car was up and running so throw away another $750 and then off course the diff s**t itself so ended up buying a LSD box for $1500. So i spent atleast $6000 but no doubt there was much more to add to that. Now that is a cheap build and i found that i had to replace some of the things i originally used and ended up spending more in the long run. Doing it cheap will in the long run cost you more trust me. I know its a honda but im sure the same applies when turboing any car. Forced Imduction takes the stresses and loadson your motor, driveline etc to a new level and nothing should be overlooked or done half ass as i have learnt. Im looking at dropping an M50 into my E30 and running a descent GT35/40 top mount with a descent power output and i do not expect it to be cheap one bit In my opinion if you are going to go towards forced induction spend the money and do it properly or dont bother at all... Luke
