  1. Putting it into my E30. I think the non vanos put out about 148kw at the motor not sure about the vanos
  2. Yea definitely a 15w50 then. If its not smoking then that should be fine if the block hasnt been rebuilt then ur rings are doing pretty well for 300,000 haha but like you say you dont know if its the original motor. Oh dear not good im having my M50 2.5 non vanos head rebuilt as we speak, the bill has gone from $400 up to $1300 im doing the M50 conversion so worth it man. Yea i dont know alot about idle control valves but i do know they can cause that fluctuating idle... also correct me if im wrong but if u are low on water or have air pockets in ur cooling system that can cause it also? Luke
  3. Hi mate, it all depends on how many km's the motor has done and other considerations like if it smokes or not? If it has done around about 135,000kms or more you want to step up a weight in your cold rating. Id probably run a 15w50 or a 15w60. The first number is your thickness of the oil when the motor is cold, the second number is the thickness of the oil when the motor has heated upto operating temperature. So in theory the higher the hot number (2nd number) the less your oil is going to thin out. As far as the funny idle goes it could be the idle control valve? Just my 2c, Luke
  4. Hey guys, got me 325i Radiator in the car last night and noticed they dont have their own filler and cap. Does anyone know where you can get custom/aftermarket fillers that you can put into the top radiator hose etc... Cheers, Luke
  5. Hi, i require pinout diagrams for an E30 318i Facelift ECU and a E34 M50B25 ECU. Can anyone help? Cheers, Luke
  6. Shot bro ill hit Ray up when i ring. Im sure ill manage to fabricate it to the throttle body Cheers!
  7. Hoping it will adapt to my E30 accelerator pedal Luke
  8. Probably not a bad idea now that im going to be spending more on gas haha!
  9. I know its stupid but really wanted to keep the luxury of having air con over summer. I guess you E30 M50 ppl out there just got rid of your air con pumps all together? There is no way the E30 one will bolt up to the M50 motor....
  10. Cheers Jonty. I think Mosen Euro is seperate but Kevin Mosen does not run it anymore he sold up (correct me if im wrong anyone) but thats what i have heard. My E30 is from there. Im just gonna wait till my gearbox and motor are all in then measure the length that i need the driveshaft to be and the spline count on the hanger bearing end and the pcd spacing on the gearbox end then will know for sure if i need that specific half of driveshaft
  11. From what ive heard the iridium/platinum plugs are worse off for an RB. Was talking to a friend of mine and he is right up there with the RB's and recommends using the standard specified plug and gap them to 0.7mm. The standard plug should have no effect on the coil packs as they were designed to run with them from factory.
  12. Iridium plugs from memory are rated to last around 70,000km and platinums around 100,000km. All your paying for really is a longer lasting plug im sure and in some cases iridium/platinum plugs can be worse for some motors eg. Nissans RB and also alot of Honda motors i've heard can have issues. I always recomend regular NGK plugs at work.
  13. Just need a drive shaft front section from a e28 525 manual gearbox now. I know they are hard to come by but if anybody has this please let me know, need it asap Cheers, Luke
  14. Thanks ray once again. Call me before 10am as i have work at 10am thanks mate Luke
  15. Seems like I just cant get enough of this section... anyway I also need the mounting sleeve that holds the gear selector up into the hole where the shifter sits in the car. Needs to hold the gear lever and selector arm on the ZF 5spd gearbox but bolt to the tunnel of the E30. Also need the leather boot that surrounds the gear lever in the cabin and the piece that holds it into the center console of a E30. Cheers, Luke
  16. Lol nope this be the for sale section. But if you have any of the bits i require in the Wanted to Buy secion I will be more than happy
  17. E34 M50B25 Radiator E34 M50B25 Viscous Fan and clutch if i can get it off OFFERS
  18. Oh that clears things up then. With my E30 being a 318i, ray just told me on the phone that the expansion tank are a part of the radiator which is the case with my standard radiator. Thank to the both of you, have saved me alot of time should be able to have everything sitting in there nicely next week. Cheers, Luke
  19. Haha yea man it hasnt got the head on at the moment the last piston pretty much is about to go into the tunnel, yep shes in correctly can only sit in the engine bay and so far back lol.. the rubber mounts still need to go back prob about 20-30cm ill take some pics to clarify tommorow. Oh ok its just im sure i read on bimmerforums that u can use the standard M50 radiator in the E30 and it fits right in. So maybe the E36 one, ill talk to sam anyway man cheers for that aye Luke
  20. Cant really tell from those illustrations brent seem to have more forward angle than that im sure.. I'll take some photos for you after work tomorow. Also the E34 Radiator does not fit either so maybe i need an E36 radiator? Should have got things more clear in the first place, these things happen though Cheers guys
  21. As stated above, I need the arms that run from the block out to the rubber mounts on an E36 Cheers, Luke
  22. Yea i originally got told by Jonty to use e28 mounts so he must have just meant the rubber bits and assumed i was using the E36 M50 not the R34 M50. I have the E34 M50 so dont need to worry about the sump just need to find some E36 mounting arms now so if anybody has any I would be keen to buy them. Cheers Gus Luke
