  1. Oh ok damn might just get my original auto rebuilt Dad gonna pay for it but now he may not buy me my new motor and gearbox... Was thinking of doing the M50 conversion. Alot of work i know but i have the skill and time to do this considering my work is 500m down the road.
  2. Kms unknown apparantly was only just put into the car before the car was de-regged and left sitting. Emptied the trans fluid out of her yesterday and was still pure red clean as. Gbox still turns over and seems to select all gears fine. $200 ono

  5. I pulled my wrecked Auto transmission out of my 89 E30 318i last night and there was a plug attached to the back of the geabox assuming this is an electronic speedo running from the box? The donor box i have is exatly the same but is out of a 85 E30 318i pre-facelift. There is no plug like there is on the wrecked box. So maybe I have to use the speedo cable, diff and gauge clutster out of the 85 318i? Also the bellhousings are different but both boxes are HP4-22. Hopefully i can just unbolt and swap them over?   8. Hey all, have an unregistered E30 sitting outside with parts to go. Name the part and ill let you know if i got it. Already gone: Front cut of body (Radiator support etc) Glove box Seats Rear Tail Lights Door Locks Both Chrome trim linners on left and right side of car The car is pretty messy so ill let ya know if a part is worth selling so hit me up Cheers, Luke
  9. Thanks guys that all helps me out alot, i got the spare car and it turned out to be 318i prefacelift she the girl lied to me lol but the gearbox i can use on my current motor so i got it anyway. Going to be getting a 325i motor and getrag 260 box through Mosen Euro in Hamilton as Dad said he will fund it as long as I get it throgh them. I have requested: m20 325i motor Getrag 260 gearbox ECU Air Flow Meter Manual conversion I need to ask for the radiator and loom as I forgot. Can anyone else think of something I have missed? Wiring side of things is easy for me so should be able to suss that out. Cheers guys much appreciated Luke
  10. As stated I am after a 325i motor for my E30 facelift. Also needing a manual gearbox preferably with conversion kit as well. Need Loom alternator pretty much everything to get the car going. If anyone has what I am after, please state roughtly how much you are after along with the condition of items. Cheers, Luke
  11. Hey guys, was talking to Andrew before about putting a M20 motor in my E30. He said its not worth it because of the no gain in power etc... thing is i got the motor and gearbox for free and me 318i gearbox has shagged itself. he mentioned that they are not a straight swap as the ECU looms are not the same? Does anyone have the pre-out diagrams or any information on making up the adaptor to allow me to plug the M20 ECU into my car? Cheers, Luke
  12. Yes as JP said be very careful when buying kits from TradeMe etc.. I Bought one about two years ago for my 89 DA6 Integra no doubt it went hard but as far as quality goes the manifold craked in so many places. Everything else was pretty legit i know the turbo was a cheapy it also decided to fail on me after about 8 months but that could have been a number of things. End of day do your research i would put together my own kit and spend the money, doing it cheap at the end of the day ends up costing you more than its worth.

  14. Hey guys, i have a similar question to antonys post except i am wanting to know if a new M50 head or any BMW straight 6 DOHC head is compatible with the older E30 straight 6 engine blocks? I know that with nissan/holden straight 6 blocks that the older rb30 blocks with SOHC blocks are compatible with newer rb25/26 heads etc.. Im wondering also in the end if I were to put a newer DOHC head on an E30 straight 6 block that it will still end up being around the same cost to get it running as if I were to put a M50 motor into my E30... Any help much appreciated guys Cheers, Luke

  19. Hey guys, got rear ended on Friday in the left rear of my E30 Facelift. Need a bumper and left tail light urgently preferably to match my colour which will be highly unlikely... cars metalic black or sumthing cant remember the exact colour will find out when i get home. Cheers, Luke
  20. All I can say mate is Jealousy haha! Btw just a quick note on the air filter, my boss told me a few weeks back that the mushroom HKS style pod filters tend to pull apart therefor slowly dispenssing small foam particals into your turbo, he seems confident that they cause damage, whether he is right or not? Anyone able to confirm this? Be good to see it all going for your wedding dude, congrats on the hard work and effort looks well worth it! Keep it up

  22. Hah cheers man! Mines along way from where yours is tho! Definitely needs a different motor. But yea definitely looks alot tidier and clean compared to when i first took her over from Dad lol. Tunning is such a big issue good to hear the tune is sweet, my turbo teg had a basemap that a friend made and it never ran right was too rich so never got the full capabilities out of the car. Thats the one most important thing I will be addressing when I put another motor in mine. Are you going to get it tuned on a dyno? What pedal box are you using? Custom or E30? Didnt expect for you to have it all going so soon haha all certed and registered/WOF etc? For sure man ill keep in touch and keep an eye out for ya, flash ya down lol! No worries man keep up the good work!

  24. Nah bro they 17's by 7" Wide. The tyres are 17/205/40. I would say any wider wheel than that would have rubbed on the guards in the rear. How wide are the DTM's you are looking at? All you would need is to flare your guards... easy Thanks man
