  1. The braided lines for my E30 were $280. That was cheap enough for me to want to replace all the rubber lines. I was replacing a whole lot of other stuff at the same time though which made it easier to justify.
  2. You wouldn't be lending out tools from the model shop would you Andrew?? Nah, we've got plenty there so if you do want to borrow something from the interface model shop that's ok just as long as I take a note of when you take it and preferably if you take it just for a night and have it back the next morning. Send me a PM or email at work and I'll help you out.

    E30 clutch woes

Yeah, i have a 1/4" ratchet, which is too small, and a 1/2" ratchet which I can JUST squeeze in, real tight fit though haha. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that, I can select gears when it's off and car tries to drive away if I then go to start it. Maybe I just need to get it to someone with a bit more experience than I have. Guts.

    E30 clutch woes

Clutch pedal has a consistent, firm feel over the whole range of travel. During bleeding it felt really spongy with all the air in the lines but that feeling has gone. I removed the slave at the end, pushed the rod in and a big bubble of air popped out the reservoir and a heap of fluid got pulled back in. I did it a few more times but it didn't change after that. It really feels like it is bled properly, agreed that it is a bitch to do though! Could well be the slave isn't located properly I suppose. I tried to make sure it sat into the little indent but it wasn't exactly the most positive engagement, if you know what I mean? I wish the slave cylinder wasn't such a pain to take off, that top nut is a bitch to reach!!

    E30 clutch woes

Following on from my thread a couple of weeks ago about my clutch fluid pissing out into the drivers footwell, I have just replaced both the master and slave cylinders. I spent ages bleeding the whole system through by both bleeding through the nipple on the slave and by removing the slave and pushing in the pushrod to force air back out the other way. No more air was coming out of the system at the end and the clutch pedal felt firm. But when I fired up the car I couldn't put it in gear, indicating that the clutch isn't actually disengaging!! Anybody got any ideas on this? Could I possibly have destroyed the seals on my brand new master cylinder during installation?? The car hasn't actually been driven for about 6 months so could something else have seized while it's been sitting? Thanks in advance for the help.
  6. I don't even a little bit want to machine back the hub faces. Cheers for the offer though. They're too rare, I'd sooner sell them than risk ruining them. Although obviously I'd prefer to do neither haha.
  7. Not sure I'm quite putting this in the right section but oh well. I am doing a 5 stud conversion on my facelift E30 coupe with e36 m3 stuff up front and 318ti stuff out the back. I have some wheels that I have my heart set on fitting but just want reassurance that I'll actually be able to! Obviously with the e36 hubs, I should be fitting wheels with an offset around 40, but my wheels were designed to fit an e30 m3 so are much lower. I don't want to reveal exactly what they are yet but the specs are: Front: 17x7.5" et17 with 205/40 tyres Rear: 17x8.5 et20 with 215/40 tyres So please, tell me I'm not mad before I end up getting those guards rolled for nothing!
  8. Cheers for that. I'll get under the car to double check everything but sounds like I'll be adding clutch master and slave to my (long) list of things to buy for this car! I'm just stoked I didn't have the carpet in the car when this happened haha.
  9. Sorry to hear about the problems mate, have sent you a PM.
  10. Anybody else had this happen to them? The fluid seems to be seeping through the seal on the firewall and into the cabin of the car. It is flowing out pretty quickly too, and now my clutch doesn't work. Does it sound like a seal on the master cylinder has gone or something? If I do need to change the master cylinder should I be changing the slave at the same time? Cheers.

    1990 E30 316i coupe

Thanks for the comments guys. Someone must be keen to buy it though! @Lucan, weaves are now sitting on Ashkan's race car and roof racks are being kept for a future E30. Could be persuaded to let them go with the car though if the buyer is keen enough. Loved the look of the big square roof racks on this car, it doesn't look right without them haha. @Pommy, Already have another red one! Doing 5 stud conversion on that one which I have to sell this one to pay for.
  15. Hi everyone. Up for sale is my beloved 316i coupe. I bought this car off Glenn 2 years ago and now it's time for me to pass it on, although it pains me to be doing it! This car has been loved and well cared for its whole life and I'd like to pass it on to someone who will do the same. Please get in touch if you have any questions or want to come and check it out. TradeMe Link I have set the reserve at $2500 and that's the lowest I will go.
  16. Thanks Ray. Left a message on your phone earlier today, I'll give you another ring tomorrow.
  17. Wanting to buy good condition carpet for a facelift E30 coupe. Only interested in the dark grey type. Must have no rips or tears. Also wanting a mint condition centre console for a coupe (with 2 holes for window switches). Let me know what ya got. Cheers, Matt

    E30 coupe seats

Got some seats out of a facelift E30 coupe that I want to get rid of. Drivers seat is definitely looking a bit sorry with rips in the fabric and some wearing on the bolster. The front passenger and rear seats though are still looking in really good condition. The rear back rest has had some foam ripped out of it in the middle though. No idea why, it was like that when I got the car but doesn't seem to affect fitment or comfort. Whoever wants to come and pick them up (Sandringham) can have them / I'd happily accept a box of beer.
  20. Without actually being able to answer your question on what anything is worth, I'd be keen on the tweeter pods. Without knowing what anyone has sold them for in the past, I'd like to think they'd sell for around $40-50? I'd be happy to pay that anyway haha.
  21. Bump. Can drop these anywhere in Auckland, including freight depots, for any of you bimmersport guys. Don't miss out on these!
  22. Hi guys, I have just put my AC Schnitzers alloys up on trademe. Trademe link Really good size for the E30 and look fantastic when fitted. Check them out.
