Ill keep it short and sweet.. I maybe getting some new rims shortly and Im going to need BIG CAMBER to fit them so... a ) Will adjustable rear camber arms from an E36 M3 fit an E36 325i? b ) is anyone selling them cheaper than $300 a pair?

Watch this It explains most of the procedure. The heat shouldnt be too much of a problem if you just weld with a series of spot welds. Otherwise I think E30 shocks use a collar nut at the top of the shock body. Could cut one of those off and weld it to the E36 one maybe.

haha normally i would agree but that one is sex

E36 touring Drrooollll I want this so bad haha

Ok so considering my shock inserts will be stiffer than stock and the springs are fairly hard at 10kg/550lb, Will the roll stiffness still be noticeable if i used my existing sway bar in the lower mount position? Is there a thicker OEM sway bar I can use to "balance" the suspension? ie. 328i, Msport Thanks for the words of wisdom so far has been very informative
-
Yea not always but some shocks are threaded at the bottom and wind in to the lower mount to allow for height adjustment Andrew - I take it these are just damper adjustable then? Whats the length of the shock when its extended?
-
Have you got any pics? Are they height adjustable or just damper?
-
Is there any added benefit to having the sway bar mounted on the shock? The reason I ask is I want to shorten my shocks and put coilover sleeves on but the sway bar mount is in the way. Can I just convert my sway bar to bottom mount without any issues? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Just sorting out some coilovers for my car and am wondering what spring rates are best for a track/road E36 325i? Any suggestions? Keep in mind I will happily trade some comfort for performance Any help will be appreciated.

In my experience new BMW parts are generally more expensive than aftermarket parts And even if the a/m part does cost more its probably going to offer some advantage over OEM One of the many boners to having a link is more flexibility with tuning aswell 300 odd hp will probably get boring after a while and if you decide to turbo or s/c youd be kicking yourself for not getting the link in the first place Its future proofing
-
Man BMW fans make engine swaps sound hard lol Would it not be easier to ditch all the standard crap and wire it up with a standalone ecu? With the price of BMW parts it wouldnt suprise me if you got a link wired in and tuned for 2/3 the price of the M3 gear. Aftermarket rad, fuel pump and brakes and you probably still be under the cost of the M3 gear. Then when its all finished youl sit down, have a beer, read your receipts and say "Dam I should have just bought an M3" haha

Visit My Website I know they're completey wrong PCD but i reckon they still worth a post

Whats easier to tune fuel with? Apexi S-AFCII or PowerLink? Has anyone had experience tuning with either of these? For those that dont know what these are, The Apexi S-AFCII is a piggyback fuel controller that manipulates the information sent to the ECU to control fuel. And the PowerLink is an extra injector controller that can increase fuel via extra injectors at user determined boost pressures.

Id rather have busted up guards than high offset RC's haha

Yea I was hoping someone would know as it could be a possible alternative to shortening shocks for the E36 platform. Im going to get new springs soon but my current springs require shorter shocks and I dont want to butcher my bilsteins if I can avoid it. Is there anyone in the Hutt Valley with a spare pair that I could measure?
-
Does anyone know if E30 rear shocks are shorter than E36 ones? My E36 Bilsteins are 585mm from centre of lower mount to the end of the shaft were they taper for the thread. If anyone has some E30 rear shocks they can measure for comparison it would be much appreciated. Cheers

Ive still got them Ive just been using them as skid rims. They busted heaps of paint off my arches tho lol You definitely need to roll the rear guards as a bear minimum to fit the 5er wheels. Flaring them would be even better

Hey man Ive tried fitting 5er wheels on my E36 before Link Theres some picks in that link to show how tight it is Wheel was 17x8.5 ET13 with 205/40 tyre The back isnt to far off but you need to flare the front about 30mm to even cover the bead of the tyre

Pull the plug out the back of it
