  1. Yeah that sounds more along the lines of what I'd heard.. I was sure I'd read my 323 was 140hp.. and then it progressed to 170hp for the 325 up to 192hp for the 328. Could be that the 98 models with double vanos were upgraded from that, with the 325 at 192, 328 at 193 & even more torque than it had before... ( )
  2. Here's a question then.. I've got red plates from PP that didn't really suit my green e36, but now it's a silver one the red looks mighty fine on the rear... but doesn't do much for the front. So I was thinking of getting a set of Euro plates, red on white for the back and black on white for the front.. but you reckon they have to be the same front & rear? Hmmm. I'm also thinking red euro plates might draw more plod attention since we have red plates, and we have euro plates, but we don't have red euro plates... still reflective though.
  3. Saw you coming down Willis St this afternoon round 6, recognised the pic you posted earlier... if I didn't have a gaping wound in the side of my car to patch up I was gonna jump in the car & chase ya.. hehe.
  4. Man that is sweet.. definitely one of the two best colours for the E36.
  5. Would be a thrill or two but personally I'd rather have the E36...
  6. Actually Andrew those rims still look silver-paint-coloured, rather than bare metal.. hmm look at a VGA connector, they have a nice polished non-gloss non-chrome shiny metal finish that would look awesome on wheels. Here we go, this is what I'm talking about:
  7. Hey I can't say I blame ya, when ya got a car that looks that good it's almost a crime to let it get dirty... and when it looks so fantastic clean you really never need a reason to clean it. I was cleaning mine 2-3 times per fortnight just to make sure it stayed lovely and glistening...
  8. Man that Montrealblau is gorgeous... ... almost as nice as bostongrün...
  9. Why do people always lose the cigarette lighter?
  10. Doesn't matter if it's not the cheapest, as long as it's still reasonable and worth the job they do.. cheers for the tip.
  11. Need to do a few things, firstly plug & paint the holes from the spoiler which will be coming off, get my mirrors painted, and of course fix up those recently-acquired scratches. I've been recommended the Body Shop in Lower Hutt, from a guy who knows a nephew of the guy who owns/runs (can't rememebr whcih) the place, but wondering if there are any preferences from the board? If there's a good place in the city well that saves me a return train trip out to the Hutt.. heh.
  12. you've got my email .. gimme a holla tonight done I wouldn't mind a hook-up for some more of this stuff either..
  13. Well thing is they're actually friends of mine.. theyçe acutally both offered to front up the the cash to fix it up but I know that one of them will "work" to get it so it's a bit of a sh*t situation.. Eagle man I sorta feel like I have no right to be pissed when I see your pic dude.. hell mine's only superficial (mostly) whereas yours is some nasty poo.. I feel for ya bro.
  14. 1). The f**king useless c**ts think their 100hp front-wheel-drive piece of Japanese crap can match your cornering & braking and try to push their little crapheap in a miserably hopeless effort to try and keep up, only to find out that their cardboard-disc brakes aren't magic... 2).
  15. Right well back on the subject.. debaged the car today. Actually finished right about four minutes ago. Biggest job was re-routing the carpark extension cord so that I could plug it into my flatmate's hairdryer.. Anyway I think I must have been a little too sparing with the hot air because when I came to take to it with the dental floss, I was basically just cutting through the sponge backing on the underside of the badge, rather than peeling through the warmed-up adhesive. So once I had the badges off, I was left with a bigger job of peeling off the left-over sponging. Was able to get this off without too much hassle just by pulling/scratching at it with my fingers. Then comes getting off the actual left-over adhesive. This was actually the bit I did right. I've always been a fan of methylated spirits.. use it on my PC all the time to clean up fried-on Artic Silver, and it also cleans up CD case stickers brilliantly. A little bit of rubbing and that adhesive backing pretty much just leaps off your car. I can now state for a fake that it won't bother your paint-job one bit either, although it will take off your wax. So I now have one sparkling, shiny and empty rear boot lid. Next job, de-spoiler & M3 mirrors.
  16. Ok so I always thought that alloys were supposed to be better because they were a) lighter, and didn't have anything done to them other than being forged. Now it turns out all alloys are either coated or primed or whatever else? So the actual colour of the alloy itself is some black or brown crap just like whatever usual old crappy hubcaps are covering? THe reason I ask is because I want SHINY wheels. Not chrime crap that looks like reflectorised plastic, but ones that look like polished steel.. As far as I can recall I've seen this finish on one car only so far (a taxi, of all things) but at least I know it's possible. Now, I'm assuming it's not just a matter of sitting down with a rag & some polish & getting to work on my wheels because it certainly seems like our alloys are a silver/metallic colour, rather than being a bare metal finish. Is this right, and does that mean that I can't get a nice polished finish without tracking down exactly that finish?

    New Car

That is one hot car.... very hot. Is it just me or are those fenders, both front and rear, looking somewhat rectangular? Certainly doesn't look like original styling... very unique though.
  18. I used VTNZ at first, but since Page charge the same amount I decided there wasn't much point.. they don't try to hit ya with stuff that doens't need to be done and if something does, at least they can do it straight away so that your car still passes. Nothing quite so annoying as failing a WOF because one of your fog lights is out and then having to fix it up & then take it back for a recheck, when Page could have done it on the spot and possiby wouldn't even have charged for the work.
  19. Well I haven't checked yet but I don't remember noticing that.. but thinking about it I think you're right about what you said earlier about automatics & motorsport... can't really do the name justice unless it's manual so I'll forget about that.. Deftones, sounds good. I'll have that wing off & M3 mirrors on hopefully by the end of next week.
