  1. Short answer.I doubt it.

Incorrect sorry sir - The wheels may need a hub modification but other than that the tyres are the correct size.

the e39 has a odd hub diameter,74.1 mm,whereas the e60(and just about every other 5,67,and 8 series BMW has a 72.5 hub). They will fit if you get the hub machined to suit the e 39

Exactly right - however the e60 may be using locating rings as the bore may already be 74.1. If the centre bore is 74.1 then they will bolt straight on, otherwise you will need to get the centres machined out to suit.

  2. Your maths is off sir...

Silt (dry loose i'm assuming) is roughly 0.8 of a tonne per m^3. It's about 56m^3

    Sand, wet - 1.92 tonne/cubic meter

    Sand, wet, packed - 2.08 tonne/cubic meter

    Sand, dry - 1.60 tonne/cubic meter

    Sand, loose - 1.44 tonne/cubic meter

    Topsoil (some moisture - 1.44 tonnes/cubic meter

    Water - 1 tonne/cubic meter

I'd assume it would be a less than 40m^3

sorry I just used a quick tonne- cubic meter converter

Still 56 cubic metres is still a lot of dirt/silt

  3. I am just checking in, I had the net when power was first restored but then it went that night.

Have moved around 25 tonne of silt so far from around the house with another 20 that still has to be taken but will have to be done by hand.

Seriously 45 tonne :o That is around 125 cubic metres of silt!!

Surely that would mean your house was just about buried?

  4. hey man , would you be able to do a deal if i bought 8 wheels and tires? , and i am realy intrested in getting stretch tires ... as a mate of mine is also keen on some at the moment but will just need to raise the funds ?

that pic you have is of an 8.5". we only Have 7.5" and you won't be able to stretch any tyres on them. Come and see us when you have the money

    cheers

  5. I picked up a set of wheels that are 4x114 and am wanting to stick them on the e30 using adapters. Now firstly I know this requires a cert, which it will get but I want to know what adapters can and can't be used.

Theres a lot of info out there and I wanted to get some clarity. For instance what is and isn't legal when it comes to adapters? Do they bolt onto the hub or wheel? Hubcenticity? etc etc...

    For example this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-355720760.htm

I get confused as to how they work, do you attach them to the wheel or the hub? Please explain how the work to a noob.

Also e30 centre bore is 57.1, where as new wheels are 66 or 73 iirc, how do I address this?

    Cheers

Thos adaptors are legal with a cert. The cert laws state that adaptors must be hubcentric so you will have to use locating rings to make sure the adaptors and your wheels are located correctly. The adaptors bolt to your hubs and then the wheels bolt on to the adaptors. As mentioned above talk to your local certifier first

    cheers

  6. Hi all

My 120D almost needs a new set of rubber.

It's currently shod with Conti Premium Contact SSR 205/55 R16 91V tyres.

Anybody know where in Auckland I can get a deal on a set of four of the current incarnation of 205/55R16 Continental SSR tyres?

Has anybody here experienced Tyre City Newmarket?

    Thanks in advance.

We can get them for you :)

I am not at work today but will be back tomorrow and can send you a price then

    cheers
