  1. Ahhh finally, would the 8.5" be all right on my car. Or would i be better of just getting 17x7.5?

Are you open sundays to purchase?

Is your car stil on bags? Sorry - not open on Sundays - we have to have some time off! :D

are those rs style bolts on those basketweaves?

    Good question?

Are these a single-piece, two-piece, or three-piece wheel? I believe I saw (somewhere) that the bolt heads are cast?

Would hope they are single-piece to meet the E30 requirements:

A bit heavy for my liking at 8.8kg; compared to the ~6.0kg Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.3; though these basketweaves are excellent value at only NZ$179...

Thesew ere made for the E30 series so they are definitely single piece and run the maximum allowable offset. Sure they may be heavier than the the Team Dynamics wheels but they are also a lot more affordable, which was the initial aim of making this race class.

Can you get the BBS reps, 17x8.5 ET20 in 5x120 for E36?

    DEAD KEEN IF YOU CAN!!!

IF not is it possible to redrill them to 5x120?!!?!?!

ET20 is not the correct offset for E36. We did not bring in any in this shipment for 5 series either sorry, and they can't be redrilled as tehy are actually 4x100 4x114.3 multifit.

    cheers

  2. Im looking more for some open spoke ones... Wheres the best place to buy the tyres and wheels new? And how much would it be usually?

We are the best place to buy new wheels :D . Gold would look awesome against the blue!

Tyres you can get directly through Toyo when you are registered for the series or come and see us for tyres.

Do you mean the 6 spoke wheels that you see on series race cars? Just be careful as we have been told they bend rather easily.

  3. We sell them and occasionally use them. There are 2 things that you must get absolutely right though for them to work properly.

    1. The wheel must be hubcentric, this can be achieved by using a locating ring but you MUST use them.

    2. Make sure you have plenty of thread on the bolts.

  4. Clearly my threads are becoming an excuse for all you to rip the sh*t outta me, I'm kinda over it, why should I bother sharing my knowledge?

Dude, chill out, I thought you of all people would have realised it was a tongue in cheek comment. It was just a bit of friendly natured banter :D

As other pople have said do what ever you want but just make sure you do it once and do it right. :)

  5. I'm happy as is, Glen, don't post my BD, I'm going to try and ignore it and continue to tell everyone I'm still 28, can't believe I'll be 30 next year!!!

haha - I have the perfect gift for you.

A teaspoon of cement mix - so you can harden up :D

    30 is nothing!

OP: just don't read the threads - simple and problem fixed!

  6. Hi Cam

as soon as we pull them out of the container I will be taking pics and weighing them.

    cheers

    Johno

    EDIT: BLOODY FOG!!!!!

It closed the port down this morning because the cranes couldn't see where to pick up or put down the containers.

Oh well. I guess when you have been waiting this long one more day doesn't matter!

  7. There is a crowd down the line that are bringing them in, had a sit in a few of the RS's at speed-show and TBH its still very much a ford inside.

That would be Grant Aitken Motorsport. It cracked me up at Speedshow. Ford NZ had a big sign saying Ford Focus RS coming soon and just across the hall were 4 brand new examples. We have had a couple come into work and they are very very cool.

  8. Also, the car looks hard with the rear spacers on but I can't drive with them because the wheel bolts I have are 2mm too long and are fouling on something inside the hub, and std wheel bolts are too short. But when I sort that I will take styly photos and stuff and maybe my touring will become an internet car?

    Chow.

    Hi Max

the car is looking great. When you spin the rear wheel is it like a ticking sound? If so, the studs will be hitting on the handbrake cable on the inside of the hubs. The only real solution is to cut your studs down a bit shorter so you have clearance. You can do it yourself with a good hacksaw and a vice, it just takes some time. Make sure you put a nut over the thread as well so you don't damage it.

    cheers

    Johno
