Not necessarily - it probably just means they paid more than the other manufacturers to get their product on the car Seriously though they are both good tyres, but here in NZ we are spoilt for choice when it comes to tyres for such a small country

WOHOO........ Just outbid Brian
-
Apparently this year Christmas Day is the 26th and Boxing Day the 27th??????????
-
i am going to say the complete opposite here. I cut off just the rear mufflers on my E38 735i and now it has a nice V8 burble. It is not too loud at all and everyone comments on how nice it sounds. I didn't want any performance gains just a nicer sound. I will try and get a pic of it up soon
-
It might also help to let us know where you are. If you are not in Auckland these guys won't be much help.
-
I wouldn't be paying any more than you have already bid.. There are heaps of E30's around so just be patient and wait for another one to come up.
-
How much do you want to spend on a car?
-
Like the All Blacks are actually going to win a World Cup........... yeah right The only reason the AB's have qualified for the next one is because we are the hosts! Seriously though was a great game to watch on TV and good on the AW's! If anyone saw Sportscenter the next day they were all over it and even had a nice little graphic of the populations of teh teams that had qualified. NZ at 4 million was the smallest by far. USA - 370 million and Nigeria at 170 odd. Makes our achievement in qualifying that much more special.
-
Congratulations it's available!!!
-
John and Chris always have very good cars down there, and they are pretty good guys too!
-
seriously dude.............. enough of the thread digging and hijacking just to advertise your car
-
HB Brian, must be your shout on Thursday At least that way you will guarantee to have a bigger turnout on Thursday!! Seriously tho, hope you have a good one.
-
Do this. Stiffer springs will not solve your problem. It is rubbing because the offset of the wheels is wrong.
-
Did you specifically ask for those rims or did they tell you they would fit without any problems? I know the rim you are talking about, it is very cool, however if they told you the rims would fit then you have every right to tell them to fix the problem properly.
-
I have a pair here but they don't have the spigot on them to locate the wheel. Let m eknow if you are still interested.
-
Go back to where you got the guards rolled. Under the Consumer Guarantees Act the retailer has to remedy the problem. If they refuse to demand your money back because the job has not been done properly. The offset of the rims does not really help either. BTW - Welcome to the forum!

This whole thread is starting to fail miserably. I have lost count of how many reposts there have been . It really is becoming a farce. A lot of you guys are very very harsh and while their have been some catastrophic failures some of those cars are not all that bad. Not digging at you PJAY but your post is the one that sticks out the most. Saying Pink cars are a fail is like saying all BMW's are a fail. Just because someone paints their inetrior for example it doesn't mean it is an automatic fail. I know everyone has their own opinions but this forum is really turning into a snobfest. If anything is not remotely factory looking or not genuine you guys are all over it like flies on 3 day old meat! The biggest one that sticks out is the poor girl who had the E34 with a pretty extreme bodykit - good on ya all for scaring her off!! Another thing is chrome wheels - sure the consensus is that they are terrible but why jump on new members straight away - let them learn themselves! The whole point of this 'community' is that it is a place where BMW enthusiasts can come and gain some good knowledge and meet like minded people. At the moment I know of at least 3 people who have come on here, had a look and then disappeared, purely because of the content and amount of rubbish that is becoming more prevalent. Whatever happened to each to their own? Some of you must spend hours trolling through Trade Me digging up these auctions, there are over 47,000 cars for sale! Instead of wasting time on the internet why don't you do something constructive with your time, maybe like washing your car? Or, actually get outside and enjoy some fresh air? I swear some of you people must literally live on this forum. To me wasting all this time is a FAR BIGGER FAIL than half the cars you list. Mods - why don't we just close this thread - it really is pointless and just a way for people to increase their post count. End of Rant
-
can't you just crimp it together a bit more? That's what I have done previously on the E36 and E38.
-

That statement is quite inaccurate. The My-01 is a sports touring tyre where as The RE-001 is a replacement for the Grid III. Kind of like comparing a 320 to a 328, the two are completely different. The MY-01 is not a high performance tyre by any means, in fact it is quite horrible to drive on - comparable with the Chinese brands I think. The RE-001 is completely different and a pleasure to drive on. Both the RE-001 and 050 are very good tyres, personally I think the RE-001 is better than the 050. This is mainly to the fact that the RE-001 is a newer tyre and tread design. The RE-001 will probably handle a bit of track work as well. As mentioned earlier Ron's (3pedals) review is very good although possibly a little biased I would also take a look at the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric, Goodyear have just dropped their pricing on 90% of their tyres!
