  2. that depends... who is regrinding the cam? what can they do that bmws $$$$$$$$$$$ couldnt? unless its a proven quality cam grind from someone who can guarantee the results have been tested etc then you probs will end up going backwards... ask me how i know.
  3. Hey guys... i am after some wheel bands... (the rim without a centerpeice.) I need 2x 16x8 and 2x16x9. i also need the band to step down so it can fit a 15" center.. if you have seen my showroom thread then you know what i mean and why. can anyone help? i have tried the elite wheel company but they only do 16x8 and 16x10 and they dont step down enough to fit the 15" center. any help appreciated guys... cheers in advance. oli

    Oops

seriously if i were you i would get a sump guard. i have smacked mine seriously hard a few times... even bottomed out on the motorway the other day. and its done absolutely no damage to it.
  7. tops look man. look forward to seeing it..
  8. half tempted to just take the motor and slam it in my racecar...
  9. difficultly... try angle grind it Very carefully and then when theres just a little bit left try and break it... be carefull not to damage the thread on the shock..
  10. yeah if i am going to have to piggy back the ecu and all i wont bother.. as nath said too much money on a m20. if i could throw one on that had the same reading values so the ecu didnt know the diff then i would. but if it involves much $$$ then no point.
  11. check for any air leaks. also check that your base idle is set correctly... basically what is happening is that the revs are dropping back to idle when you unload the motor with no gas and the idle is not high enough to catch the revs as they drop.
  12. Hey guys... i was pondering on this idea last night... would i be correct in saying that if i found a maf sensor that had the same resistance/voltage values either end of the spectrum that i could swap it with the afm on my e30? or is there more to it than that? also anyone know a potential candidate? and what are the expected gains from doing this?

    World Cup

hey jtp, i will put a sly 10 down on a win if your up for it... (i can afford to loose 10 bucks...)
  14. lets keep on track here... i am not really interested in the safety or legality of the hids, (thats not what this thread is about) they are staying regardless. and i dont really want to hid my foggys.. so i just want a bulb that goes blueish cheers guys.
  15. i wouldnt touch either of those brands too... and i would never combine 6x9s with a sub.. they clash really bad... imo i would get some good front components, ie jbl, pheonix gold, eclipse etc etc.. some powerfull 6" rears and a good sub, ie dual voice coil. (my one is a jbl from memory... its ok.. not good not bad.) then spend the best part of your money on head unit and 2 amps. if you stinge on these your system will never sound good. no matter what speakers you get. get a 4ch for the speakers.. keep your rear speakers for mid range only. and one 2ch for the sub... eclipse do a good amp. and so do panasonic. but you want to make sure that the amp works well with the chosen sub. and dont run 2 subs.. they dont make it any louder, they just clash with eachother.. if you cant get enough out of one sub then your setup is wrong. brands like jbl, eclipse, alpine, pheonix gold, panasonic are a little more expensive than sony and fusion but the quality difference is like another world
  16. yes i have a not so leagel beagel hid kit. and i dont really want to shell out for another one... may go with those ultra blue bulbs
  17. As this is heading off topic i guess it means its my turn to chime in... imo just either run factory exhaust, or get a quieter exhaust made up... i had an exhaust that was 2 1/4" pipe into a forzaflow middle muffler (gated muffler) and into a cannon. it sounded nice and wasnt too loud. still very legal... if you make an exhaust that accomidates your cc then you can get a nice exhaust that still sounds good and is not too loud. if you make an exhaust that is too big for your car (more common than you would think) then thats when you get the bad sound and way too much noise... so imo if you want to keep the rear muffler you currently have put in a more effecient center muffler... ie a forzaflow or flowmaster...

could always fit a sump guard...
  22. ohh yeah? what track was that at? i didnt know they were open at night....... tisk tisk. should be setting an example... mind you if it was downhill not much would beat the volvo
  23. to give you an idea. i know a m52b28 motor in an e30 that is murdering getrag 260s and its a stock motor. standard internals on your motor. if you are going turbed no more than 8psi i would say. could go 10 or 12 but motor wont last long at that. thats my 2c

    World Cup

^yes that is true, although paraguay (spelling?) are not ranked as high as italy etc and all whites have grown in confidence after their 2 games. it may be the hardest game yet but i think nz are capable of pulling it off...
