E30 Thermostast are a double acting thermostat. the car will overheat if you do not run one. check that it is opening at the right temp. and just try and bleed it again. it definatly sounds like either an air lock or a stuck thermostat. it is deffinatly not your fan, water pump, and leaks, and not a head or head gasket. if the headgasket was crook you would see steam coming out of your exhaust and if the head was cracked your oil would be creamy. Also these 2 would not cause your car to over heat without using nearly all of your coolant. Have you checked your radiator flow? if you drill a small hole in the outside of your thermostat. maby 1 or 2mm it will help bleed the air out of it

because it leaks oil like a austin. and it is coming out of funny places like crank seals and so forth. so i figured it would be easier to do with motor out

Hey guys. i have a "The buisness" head unit in my e46 which is not as good as i want. soooo. I need to know if anyone can get good deals on the face plates you need to install an aftermarket head unit. and anyone know how to remove the current head unit? i have all the wiring and instalation under control. just never tried pulling one out of an e46 oh and while i am here. anyone want to buy my head unit and stacker? and what is it worth?

Heya guys. I have got to pull the motor out of my e46. a few bits of work to do on it. it is a N42 motor i think. (the facelift 2l 4cyl motor) and auto trans. has anyone had one of these out? are there any bits that will require a special tool to do or any bits that i wont be able to get done in my driveway? I work at a ford dealership and i know the relitively new fords and mazda can be quite complicated to pull apart. and quite often need special tools, I just dont want to get half way through it and realise it cant be done outside a dealership. many thanks oli

my car had them certed along with a few other things. but they are on stock e30 rails so technically no need for cert. need to sell them before end of month so i can get my race car back up and running.

my e46 does the same thing. i havent got round to fixing it yet. just turn your air con on and off and see if it does it only when its on. that would tell you it is the aircon pulley or clutch otherwise just get a big screw driver and probe around the different pulleys when its making the noise and use the screw driver like a stethoscope

yeh that sounds about right. when you get a free flowing exhaust you loose the backpressure you used to have in low rpm. and your motor runs best when there is a certain amount of back pressure. so a more free flowing exhaust will mean not so good down low where the back pressure is low but when the revs are up and you are making the right amount of back pressure then thats when it comes into its element

it is an immobiliser system not an alarm as such. it doesnt make any noise if you car is being broken into. there is a chip in the key that allows the module to start the engine. in other words it wont start with a plain key. it is just an immobiliser system all modern cars have them.

i just never got round to putting that lower lip on lol it was to help airflow to my brakes lol

imo i would be worried if it didnt leak. my theory is if it isnt leaking there isnt any oil in it

as in title. they are still in good condition. the rebound is very slightly off the brand new mark. but nothing you wouldnt expect. they were rebuilt about 3 or so years ago. and havnt done too many ks with me. they give great handling. they are motorsport shocks so are short shocks also. they fit 46mm and 51mm struts. selling fronts only. $120 oli 0274839222
