  1. if it was one of what you suggested you would experience big fuel cosumtion and a decent amout of smoke. when you say 'running rough' is it like a costant missfire or more just generaly sick sounding? have you checked things like fuel filter. timing. air leaks. spark plugs and the like?
  2. cheapset option of all. m20b25 t3/4 turbo. manifold from driven performance. a gsr intercooler and a 2nd hand link. run 12lb on standard internals and you will be goin pretty well
  3. have a complete 520i e28 less the cylinder head. its red few little knocks here and there. manual box in good con. blew a head gasket. 400 for car or if anyone wants a manual conversion or bits let me know oli 0274839222
  4. have altinator starter motor. motronic v1.3 loom + 2 ecu's but no afm 325i throttle body and elbow. drive shaft cover thing twin straight through exhaust system off 325i front light clusters reasonably good con front pfl bumper all needs to go. to much space being used. make me a silly offer
  5. just aswell you didnt have my e30 it gets sideways around just about every corner in the wet. doesnt matter if your going fast or slow or what gear you in or anything. can be a little edgy at times. but these kind of experiences are something to learn from and to hopefully not repeat too often
  6. for those who read my last wtb thread. i have now bought the e28 as the previouse owner didnot want to fix. i need to get hold of a m20b20 motor.with the dizzy on the side (pfl e30). pref assembled and came from a running veichle and a radiator and thermostat housing. and cheaper is better as i do not want to spend much on this car. can anyone help????
  7. hhmmmmm this wil be an interesting build. havnt even stripped the motor yet and already asking questions. ok 1. there was a round cylinder like thing with oil running through it on the front of the intake cam. is this a vanos system? 2. because the motor will be running different cams. and a turbo and a link would it be best to leave the vanos in? thats asuming it is vanos. 3. will the link be able to run the vanos? 4. kind of off topic. but what would you think would be best option for drifting, power steering or non? any info apreciated. cheers

  9. they probably have done it to prevent exessive understeer.
  10. not necicerily. you may find if you switched them round you would be understeering alot. bmw have come up with these figures for a reason. they didnt just pick them out of a tree. so evidently they must believe thehandling is better with those pressures. i have 22psi in front and 48 in back on my e30. now that is skid happy. a couple of psi diference wont be the difference between burnouts and not
  11. make sure the tank is not almost empty when it does it. you may be pushing all the fuel away from the pickup
  12. as in title. need something that will hold a m50 motor. something not to pricy and in wellington.
  13. as in title. to suit vented discs. hopfuly with the mounting bolts for them too?
  14. the aftermarket wp should be ok. asuming its not a peice of rubbish with no warranty. and yes do the timing belt and tensioner and thermostat as a matter of course. saves you a engine or pulling it apart twice
  15. tbh it could have come from anywhere. put a hose in your coolant bottle. jump underneath and yes. get covered in crap and see where its dripping from
  16. heya guys. decided on the m50b25. and am picking it up this week. does anyone know any places that sell engine internal upgrade parts for these motors? and any websites or forums where people have done lots of work to these motors? just researching what is best to do now and where is best to get parts

  19. because its not a bmw motor. i want to keep it a german motor in a german car. doesnt matter if it means more f.ing round
  20. if i was wuried about the money i wouldnt be planing to make a monster engine. but it sounds like good fun. just throwing some ideas in the air at the moment
