To get lenses off I used the oven just like the write up, I don't reckon there's any other way as that glue is tough as hell, I sat it in there when the oven was cold, and heated up to 170C which is around d 350F and once the light turned off I took them out then used a screw driver to pry them open, its definitely the most annoying part of the whole process but not hard, although I did one at a time because as I opened one the other cooled down to much and the glue hardened again. My sealed beams are now REALLY sealed beams lol, I used Araldite, its a two part glue you have to mix, its very tough and heat resistant, re-sealing I used the glue, let it set over night, and in the morning sealed it up aswell with black silicon, so their not going anywhere, very tough, very waterproof, and very sealed. Just to add, the lights haven't been affected at all from doing this mod, their exactly as they were before except they look better, visibility does not get compromised. Alex.

Mint, I'm planning on doing this very soon, however just curious, what kind of glue to I need to re-seal my lights? I have non smile ellipsoids as well, do I just use silicon to re-seal them? Or whats the story? Also curious, the light inside wouldn't get so hot that I would need to use heat proof paint??? Cheers, A.

Hey all, am looking at getting a set of CCFL halos to put in my e30 because I don't like the TM ones, and I had a few questions, has anyone done this before? How hard are they to install into your lights? I have the Face lift style sealed beams, Are these Halos available in NZ and what diameter do I need? Any info hugely appreciated, Cheers. Alex. if their the same as my gf's old mags, they didnt fit, believe me I tired They just ground on my brake caliper at the front, was quite horrible.

Ouch mate, that suck big time, very sorry to hear. When my car was written off I had it assessed by an insurance assessor at a panel beaters, they were fine with me taking off my mags and putting on some other wheels, should be fine as long as you make a point to get them back. Otherwise, there are two panel beaters I used to repair my e30 and they did top work, Glen eden panel beaters, and Drackovic panel beaters on west coast road, their not euro specialists but their affordable and I was very happy with their work.

yyeah might hook it up to a switch just in case the main fan screws out, its a good fail safe I guess, I was reading in my hayns manual that i activates via switches/heat sensor inside the radiator or have I read wrong? Can anyone clarify? No problems just finding and re-routing the wiring and making a switch? Cheers, Alex.

Hi everybody, I was just curious, I understand, e30's or BMW's in general were fitted with an electric fan if AC was installed, my AC has always been disconnected and as far as I am aware the fan doesn't do anything, is this fan only supposed to operate if the AC is functioning and switched on? If thats the case, is there any way I can get it to work for me? Or is is overkill as my car's cooling system seems to work quite well, Any info appreciated. Cheers, Alex.

There is no "right" way to do HDR its all how you want the image to look, there are many things that can be done with HDRI, he hasnt turned some of the settings up as high as I have and has turned up others, therefore different images, you can get all sorts of results with photomatix, its a great program.
