Hey everybody, noticed today that my cambelt seemed slackish (or what I thought was slack), im in the middle of replacing my clutch, and saw that if I wanted to, I could pull the belt right off the main cog at the top, at the moment the engine has no gearbox attached etc etc, I dont know if this would contribute to less or more tension, but could someone please advise how tight it should be?? Also how do I tighten it if I need to, cambelt and tensioner were replaced under a year ago by a mechanic the day I bought it, 87 P/FL 320i e30 Thanks all, Alex. edit: typo

Thanks guys, sorry about the pic, quite cramped under the car and took it in a rush, hose is about 2 mm (quite small) in diameter, sounds like it could be what ollie suggested, am at work at the moment so will have to wait till tomorrow to check, anything else it could be?

Im changing my clutch at the mo, and was removing starter motor and noticed this hose hanging down, it connects (at one end) to something near the dizzy, and appears to be a vacuum hose of some sort, any ideas where it would have come from? pre-facelift e30 320i. (hose sorrounded in blue) Cheers all, Alex. edit: uploaded forgotten pic,.
