I have opted to invest and hence funds are fairly tight at the moment. Having said that, I did flick him a serious offer which I still stand by so it's just a matter of how "desperate" he is to sell. 15k is more than reasonably imo it's just no one is willing to pay that! Very nice car by the way, I test drove it and the photos don't do it justice. Has a few minor things needing repair to get it up to mint but definitely nothing major.

Well I think I will be forced to "eat my words" as Hamish promised to take me for a spin in it on his road trip down from Auckland. Will take some more photos to prove/disprove my point.

He want's to buy an E36 M3. I think Hamish has already snapped up that "Bogan" M3 (which seems like a great deal). There are a few nice looking examples on trademe at the moment man. Silver 3.0 M3 Black 3.0 M3 These two seem to stand out, both have been on the market for a while now so you can probably bargain with them too.

Said it before, will say it again. "Bogan" was a bit harsh and I would have changed the title if I could however I still feel that most of the mods done to this car hinder from it's overall look (especially considering it's an M3) in my view anyhow, hence the thread. What he does to his car is entirely up to him, if he likes it then it's all that matters. I just feel it has huge potential to look a fair bit better with mods that are more tasteful (once again, my view). I also wanted to highlight that it's a bloody cheap EVO M3 for sale and someone should "save it"! So please, no more "Bogan" was is harsh.. I take it back!

15k is no "new" number people, there have been a few trying to sell at that figure (higher km's though). This is definitely the nicest one at that price however people are just not buying... And yeh, he had it on there for 20K then said he will drop it one last time and is firm on 15.

Nah, the guy he bought it off did and he felt they were too "Bogan" so he bought a brand new set from BMW (the ones currently on the car) lol... Guy is a millionaire I think, he has like 5 cars including a Porche GT3. He says only reason he is selling is because his plans to build a garage for it fell through and he is a bit over the whole "car colletion" thing.

E36 M3 is a brilliant car, as usual you need to watch out for the Vanos issues (especially prominent with the 3.2's). Driving this compared to any other E46 (bar the M3) will be like the difference between day and night, you will not even be able to compare. Only worry is the maintenance, as many have suggested if the guy is willing to slap on all these "cheap" bits you have to wonder how it has been maintained... Awesome car, if it's been maintained, will definitely be worth it imo.

I drove that on Friday... What a best it is in the flesh, those photos don't do it justice. Definitely considering it as an option Has been immaculately maintained too.

Haha, so true. Cheers for the great comments guys. I tried to convince the new owner to join up on here so we can all "keep an eye on him", hopefully he does. Quite a funny story with him actually as he was looking for an STI / new WRX and his wife suggested he takes a gander at my M3 (as I mentioned "STI" in my auction, she must have accidentally stumbled on it). He did not know much about M3's or BMW's prior... so I did the good deed and converted someone who is probably BMW head over heels now. What an introduction though, M3 as first BMW... I am sure he is having such a blast.

Yeh? I was told they are some of the best you can get when it comes to semi-slicks. I am no racer though, I just took it for granted as everyone seemed to be using them on the track and it's what was recommended to me by the masses. p.s. R888's are currently on my 17" Motorsport BBS CH's... Not sure if they will fit your beast but perhaps an option ?
