Yeh, definitely an offer I could not refuse (especially in todays market). Would never have let it go otherwise.
-
Hint of sarcasm As I said, easy to get it back to the condition it deserves... I retract my "shocking" statement OK! It's just I can imagine how SICK that car could potentially look, and I saw that and I got wrapped up in the moment.

Best "bang for you buck" semi slicks you can get . Personally I would buy these but I can't imagine they will last much longer at that price hence I am sticking to my price for now. TM Link

Excellent condition, awesome rubber (265/30 rears!) staggered deep dish mags. Tyres alone are worth an arm and a leg. $1800 Reserve. TM Link
-
No tyres, minor curbing and one is missing a center cap. As you all know, bloody awesome mag which is impossible to find. Perrrrfeect for the old E36. $600 reserve. TM Link

Mmm my thoughts exactly (rather my dads) but he makes a good point.

Yeh, perhaps it was a bit "OTT" to say it was "Shocking" as the fixes very simple. I am one for originality and "breaking the norm" but pretty much every mod on that car is a fail imo. The guy has basically thrown away "Motorsport" bits and replaced it with "Made in China"! But yeh, easy fix to make it sexy beasty again ... car has huge potential at that price!

Yeh, it took a month to close this deal... long story short only got the cash yesterday!

I dunno man, it felt pretty sad... not quite stacked into a tree sad but you get the idea "What's next" is a very tough question. For the mean time it will be a cheap run about until "The One" pops it's head out at me again. Few options I have in mind are... EVO E36 M3, E46 M3, E30 M3, E30 Race car, E34 M5, E39 540 Msport, SL500, SL600. Having said that, now that I have the cash flow again perhaps investing it properly would be the wiser option... Housing is looking very tempting now and if I go down that route I think it will be a while until I slip into another MPower car... Maybe go the cheaper option and see what the fuss with the E30's is all about... manual 325 perhaps? But yeh, as you can see too many ideas plenty of time to think so only time will tell .

Well the time has finally come, I had to say goodbye to my dream car. I gave it a final wax and polish (boy did I enjoy cleaning that car) and said my final farewells. Even with a all those zeros written on the bank check I found it extremely difficult to watch it go... Anyhow here is a little "trip down memory lane" of how things progressed as a bit of a tribute to the best car I have owned... so far The day it arrived BBS CH's Added Angel eyes + eye brows Spoilers + 19" Deep dish Track Days Final photo shoot How it sold...

TM Link EDIT: With some touches here and there, this one can be salvaged from SEMI-bogan-like state it's in...

E36 M3 Turbo Part 2
crazyarab replied to ecko_complex's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
Woop! finally!! -
I recently had this issue with my M3. Aparently BMW upgraded the original tensioner with a smaller a more stream lined and less complicated one a few years later. I had to order one from BMW in Singapore (I know some people who have a contact there) as I could not find anyone who would supply them here (other than BMW chch). The rattle was coming from the front of the engine and it would kick up on startup, shut down and when you ease off the accelerator. Makes perfect sense as the chain is loose and will hit top cover when it starts losing speed. Now, as Glenn said it could be various other issues causing the noise however this is a common fault so you would not be mistaken to assume it's quite possibly due to a faulty timing chain tensioner. After the tensioner was replaced, car is running like a sewing machine again ! p.s. the part is relatively cheap however you may find yourself having to go through BMW who will probably bump it up quite a bit ;(. I am sure you will be fine, I think it's just the M3 parts that are hard to come by.

lol GUILTY, mirrored glass, water reflections hell even a shiny brick wall will do. If you have seen those Armourall adds... thats pretty much sums it up lol

+1 Too much like hub caps As for selling throwing stars... don't do it! Get whatever set you want in the mean time but you really want to keep the stock wheels man.

Hmm, all in all sounds not too bad HT

Hey welcome to the CHCH crew! Hope to see you at our next organized event. As for BMW servicing / mechanical work my recommendations are as follows: "No frills" but great work (competitively priced) see "Canterbury Automotive" (ask for Naz) OR "Chester Graham" (ask for James). "All the customer service i.e. wash your car after etc.. + huge workshop" (you pay for it!) see "Hampton Honda" (ask for Jason) OR "BMW Dealers on Manchester St." (don't know anyone there personally). I am sure if you mention that "Atta sent you" they should sort you out with a good deal. Have dealt with all of these guys quite a bit and still do. Other option is D I Y !

+11111 fair comment.

See I don't understand BMW's vision here... Imo Vader seats are what make the E36 M3 as it's really the only thing that really screams out "This is not a standard 3 series". Not sure why the 4 doors and coupes never got that option... so so sexy!
