Is there a trademe listing?
-
Welcome ! I have a nice set of 17" BBS CH's with TOYO R888's 235/45 rubber (perfect for track / road / sexy look). It's very possible that they will be up for sale soon as it seems I have found a buyer for my car. As for the exhaust.. I am pretty sure there was a member on here before who was selling?
-
Ease up on the dinners booze and expensive clothes ? ...Yeh right I would recommend hooking up with a rich exchange student... worries solved!
-
Difference between "cheap M3" and 328 is like difference between night and day.. ok maybe thats a bit much but you get my point Then again, it's still a few thousand more which can't always be justified. Anyhow, enjoy your new car and we are looking forward to the new photos !
-
F4LLEN is a very nice looking car , but for a weeee bit more you could have an M3! Do it.
-
I would not look too much into this comment about "mum's car". If she bought an M3 she more than likely enjoys a good rev... or else she would have just gone for a 318 convertible?? Even IF she did not rev her car let me give you this scenario. Your mums owns an M3, the car sits in the garage and stares at you begging you to "DRIVE ME"... You telling me you would not!? In other words, if the mum did not use it to it's potential I can 100% guarantee SOMEONE at home did

If it has been well serviced... thats nothing mate. GET IT MARK!
-
See how the auction pans out, if all goes well it won't sell and you will be in a position to flick him an offer . 13ish cold hard cash may be hard to refuse. You are 100% right, you get what you pay for unless you are very lucky. I only noticed this auction when I searched under "competition" cars and hence why I figured someone might come away with a steal however it seems people have tagged onto it and it may well reach the expected market price. From the sounds of it I would get it checked out regardless of price as it has no documented service history and does not seem to be NZ new...

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=199284936 I know I would break a sweat if this thing pulled up next to me, doubt it handles any good though but what a family car! Always had a soft spot for mercs

Yes, there is one on EVERY ticket (trust me I know ). It has a big table in the middle usually with the speeds and demerit points associated with them. You would have lost 20 for that offense. you got 2 years from now and 80 to go (provided thats your first), good luck!
-
Now how does that work man... How can you be pulled over, get a speeding ticket and NOT get slapped 20 demerit points (20k 10-20km/h over speed limit)? p.s. how can you check?
-
thats crazy man, especially on Bealy... at 7pm!! That is one mellow cop.
-
This is what they need to do imo. I don't see why they would risk the police if they could do it legally... Anyone else still at it... cursh their cars and take their licenses away forever!
-
I am pretty sure I have met the owner of this place before, he races a few E36 M3's here in Christchurch. I purchased some rotors off him and he seems like a very knowledgeable all round good guy. If it's the same guy, I would trust him . If anyone needs someone to check it out I am more than happy to offer my services
-
My god... If someone did any of things to my M3... Put it this way, "crazyarab" would be a very mild description of the state I would be in. Hell, if someone as much as leans on my car I start to build up the rage lol. Then again, I would never put a women in a position that she would need to do this. Seeing those photos just gives me the shudders... *goes and hugs car*

Yep, it's pretty hectic in Christchurch now. I was out briefly last night on my way to a mates place and the police were everywhere. They have inflamed the situation and everyone with modified cars is going to suffer. Thankfully I remain "under the radar" as my car is not considered under the "boy racer" category however it's a sad state when it has reached the stage it has now. In my view as mentioned before I think the city council needs to be creative. Continually coming down on these kids does not seem to be doing anything other than inflaming the situation even further. I am not talking about the guys that were trying to hurt the police officer (they should get a right hiding) but more about the ones who are enjoying their cars at the expense of the public. In my view these people need a place to enjoy their cars far from the city in a controlled and safe environment. Surely the cost of stepping up the police at night will amount to the same as opening up a skid pad / drag strip in controlled environment where people can go enjoy themselves in a safety and away from the public. As a small analogy, I think the skate park on Moorhouse is a brilliant example of how this method works perfectly. Prior to that park skate boarders were pissing off the public left right and center but when they were shown some consideration I think the problem is gone. Or if thats too extreme, perhaps start encouraging people to get into racing at Ruapuna or something where they can put their cars to good use. My 2c anyhow.

I had this very choice last month when I was purchasing mine and I went with the 45's. No real reasoning but what i do know is that either will be fantastic as it's a brilliant tire

Such a perfect plate though You still selling the beast?
-
lol, I hope not.. would feel like such a geek It was 100 times worse when you are so used to NZ and far removed from this sort of corruption, hell there was a few split seconds there between us where we even doubted ourselves... it was pretty crazy.

*Wait, wait, I know what you are thinking "WHOLY crap Atta that's a long post" and you would be right so feel free to ignore it but I rekin it's a pretty interesting wee encounter I had while visiting Kuwait last year and with all this police talk I could not resist sharing.* A friend and I are out and about on the streets of Kuwait, where the petrol is cheaper than water, the roads are 5 lanes by 5 lanes, the speed limit is virtually non existent and ferraris, lambos and most importantly.. Bimmers are everywhere you look. Holiday has been brilliant, we are on our way home looking forward to the dinner my mates mum has prepared and the flight back to NZ the next day. We are literally 100m from our apartment block when we cross a cop car with damage to it's side mirror and front right... a tad banged up (with 2 cops in it). They look at us very suspiciously and it felt really awkward however we knew we did nothing wrong so we didn't think twice and continued heading home. We are just about to park up under our building when sure enough they U turn and pull us over. We look at each other fairly confused but figure it must be a routine check or something. Mr police man #1 & #2 get out and come up next to the car and the usual "license & reg please" so my mate gives him the papers (which also state that he is Palestinian). #1 looks at #2 and they have this look in their eye as if they hit the jackpot, instantly their attitude changes for the worse and they start being aggressive. *Very strict tone* "You guys were driving down "X street" 5 minutes ago correct!"... we look at each other again as we were no where near that area and naturally reply "no sir!?". They start vigorously inspecting the vehicle from the outside and find a minor scratch (hardly noticeable) in the driver side door. "Yes here it is #2 it was them!", they yell at us again "You where the guys that side swiped us on "X street" and tried to get away.. here look at the door it's proof!" Now I am thinking to myself, holy sh*t.. hit and run on cops is no minor offense especially in middle east... They tell my mate to step out of the car, I try to get out also and #2 shouts "Don't move, stay in the car!" naturally by now I am shitting my pants confused to f**k what is going on. My mate tries to reason with them further and pulls out his phone to try and contact is old man. #1 & #2 snatch the phone, man handle him and literally throw him in the back seat of their car. #1 takes the keys of our car and hops in with me and they start proceeding to the police station... I start trying to reason with #1 explaining we had nothing to do with this and it was a huge mistake, he tells me to shut up and asks for my ID. I have a slight moment of brilliance and give him my NZ drivers license and explain that I am visiting from NZ (omitting the fact that I am not actually an NZ citizen and in fact hold a Jordanian passport). Immediately he backs off and starts showing me a whole lot more respect and changes his tone, however we are still on our way to the police station and I am telling him that my mate and I have a flight early in the morning which we can't miss... he is like "Don't worry sir, you had nothing to do with this.. your friend however.. we will see if he will make this flight (in a very sarcastic tone)". Now, a quick brief. The significants of the "Palestinian/Jordanian" vs NZ/US/British (western) and of course Kuwaiti is that anyone not from those later countries pretty much have 0 rights (unless they have some serious connections) and will get stuck for anything the cops want.. seems like they wanted some scape goats for some accident they did so they would not get their faces kicked in by their superiors. Basically, flat out corruption... the cops will get away with murder as long as the people they are dealing with are not "hooked up" (in which the cops, even the good ones doing their jobs will get their asses handed to them if they so much pull them up). Now, back to the story right. We getting carted off to the police station, my mate is nearly in tears when luckily by pure coincidence my mates father and brother pass us at the traffic lights and spot my mate banging and screaming in the back seat trying to catch their attention. Mates brother starts seeing red, U turns and follows us cutting them off forcing them to stop also literally a few hundred meters from the police station. Everyone gets out and cops start explaining that we hit them and run etc... my mates father believes them and starts yelling his lungs out at my mate while he is viciously denying the accusation.. at this stage he is in tears understandably so. Mates father realizes that the cops are talking sh*t after some discussion and by this time my mates brother is nearly about to hit cop #2. Turns out that my mates dad is very close friends with the police chief and calls him up and passes him onto them, by this time their faces turn white and start to apologize for the situation trying to back track. And hence, we narrowly missed a close call (probably a good old beating for my mate as he tell us the guy was threatening him big time while they were in the car). At the end of the day, in the back of my head I always knew we would be fine because my mate holds a British passport and we have quite a few connections back home but imagine how many people don't... and have to go through this sh*t 100% innocent!? So.. my point here is we really should appreciate the minimal (non existent) corruption we have here in the police force where the worst we have to deal with is a "bit of an attitude" and perhaps the odd lost license if you are really naughty . I am not saying we should tolerate everything, sure there are cases where some cops "powertrip" and thats wrong but damn do we have it good compared to many countries around the world where corruption is rampant. I for one don't agree with many methods adopted here by the force, but at the end of the day it applies to everyone... even the prime minister and thats what matters in my view. So, in other words look on the bright side. It could be worse... much worse !

I friggen LOVE that car... Just looks the buzznusss
-
Tow it from my push bike no doubt . Nah, I never go to track alone. It's always a "boys" day out. Alot of the boys who don't have the fast cars enjoy getting shotgun with myself and mates GT-R. As daunting and mundane as the task is, I always seem to find someone kind enough to drive my car to the track

Interesting point, so you would rather the 540 over an m5? Edit: hmm, a quick read on wikepedia seems to suggest that the 540 has more grunt... why would BMW do that :|?
