  1. I think i'll be at the 10k mark by the time i'm finished. But it'll be a fun car, where as if you went at spent 10k on a car at a yard it would be a boring one most likely.
  2. Got the WAR chip today, put on a map that a bimmersport member kindly gave me to try, the car runs well with this map, he tweaked it a bit on the dyno and his car is pretty much stock, so it should be a close match. As far as I can tell the only real adjustment needed is the idle, its around 1000rpm, which is a little on the high side. With the new suspension and new found throttle response the car is becoming more fun to drive, however the steering seems somewhat vague/sloppy, so I need to look into this, one of the control arm bushes looks like its in backwards too. Hopefully with a good wheel alignment the steering feel will improve, probably needs some castor.
  3. Hmmm, probably 6k easily. (incl the car) The car was $2300 to start with. money goes fast when you have a project car. I have an E30 as I love older cars, but don't mind spending some money on it, however once my new house is built and I'm paying the mortgage things will slow down some what, however I have until March next year before that happens, so in the mean time I'm getting as much done as possible. I need some panel and paint, wheels, steering is a tad vague, so a few things to sort out.. plenty to do yet. The manual conversion process wasn't too bad either and is well worth doing.
  4. Haven't driven it much due to tuning issues, however I do love the handling. I like the fact its tested at Nurburgring etc, not sure if they always say that like mine? was meant to be a tuned package. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

  6. Mmm I could end up putting the AFM back on for now. My war chip hasn't arrived, however a forum member has given me a copy of his Map he used on his Stock 325i and had on the dyno. so if that works out i'll stick with it, but no 2 e30 325's are the same I guess.
  7. New Suspension installed, one of the old front shocks was rusted into the strut housing and it also had water in it, this was quite a mission to sort out, however the end result is worth it. 4x4 Ride Height removed. I'll post a pic of the rusted strut insert after, was really quite nasty, the shock on the other side looks good, but when you pushed the rod in it didn't even come back out at all, oddly the rusted one still seemed to work ok.

  9. All in good time, one will come up, I was going to buy one a couple of years ago that was cheap on trademe, it was a manual 535i with all the M parts off another car (But no Bodykit), was only $1500 or something at the time, I'm kicking myself for not buying it..would have been so much fun for so little money. At least E30 parts are plentiful, although I've almost given up trying to find some nice wheels for mine, that seems to be one of the harder things to find. I got Alpina Reps on my old E30 from a few years ago, but no one seems to sell then now.
  10. Looks a bit lower then what mine will be when I install my new suspension next weekend, looks about the same as one of my old 320i's that had Jamex springs. Glad you are keeping with the old BMW's, but agree that you should sell it and buy an E28, but get a 535i one if you do, they are awesome old beasts. I think mine will only be 40mm lower in the front and 30mm in the rear.
  11. Is now on trademe with a $50 starting bid, it needs to be gone.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...602&ed=true
  12. Try Kevin Burt http://www.kevinburtltd.co.nz/
  13. Cool, let me know how he gets on.
  14. This arrived today, Billstein B12 Pro-Kit With some new Front Shock mounts and upgraded ones for the rear. Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://www.bilstein.de/en-uk/products/spor...12-pro-kit.html
  15. More then i'd have liked, in hind sight i'd probably not have bothered, but this stuff will be useful once I can find some good headers and cam etc. I've even had the thought of converting it to turbo, I had fun with my old Turbo CRX, was a simple car to convert to turbo as is the E30.
  16. yeah, its pretty basic, if I splashed out on an Innovative LC1 Wide Band O2 I could do it myself, but I want to get it right lol
  17. Today I replaced the intake boot, vacuum hoses, TPS sensor with new items. This didn't change much and I checked the new TPS with a multi meter (once installed) to confirm I had installed it correctly. Miller sent me this email the other day: Hello Charles, Since your car is a higher compression than the US spec cars, you will benefit from the adjust-ability of the WAR Chip. If we were to write a new chip we would be guessing as we do not have pre-made tunes for the higher compression cars with no O2 sensors. But that was to be expected, I ordered the War chip yesterday, I should have it in a week, hopefully a couple of hours on the dyno will have it sorted, dyno time is expensive.
  18. Mmm a bit worried about selling it now, just realised its been sitting for 2 years in the shed, so it may have corroded too much inside by now but i'm no expert. But if you want to risk it, $50 incl shipping (It will cost me most of that to send it). Cheers Charles
  19. I have a 1989 325i UK spec Radiator, its for the models that came without A/C, its smaller then those models. It doesn't leak, but when I had it test they said 28% blocked, but thought it was ok to use still.
  20. This is getting in the way at my mechanics workshop. Pickup only in New Brighton CHCH and $150 Was working perfectly when removed from my car. The code is 4HP22 I'll have it on here for a few days then it goes on trademe. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  21. Yeah, well the Idles fine and the cars OK at WOT, its part throttle that's the issue, which will be in the tuning. I will probably end up having to buy a WAR chip and get it re-mapped at a local dyno outfit. Its hardly worth spending this money on a stock M20, but if I change the cam and add headers etc it might be worth it.
  22. Airbox re-installed, with the help of some 2.75inch pipe, I could do with another hose clamp on it, but its actually ok. Millerperformancecars got back to me and suggested the bad running was due to a faulty TPS or O2 Sensor. Well.. my car has no O2 Sensor, so that could complicate things a bit. 23. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-530708019.htm Looks pretty tidy, but I wonder how easy the manual conversion parts are to find.
  24. Engine Bay with MAF installed, as you can see, useless Pod filter sucking in Hot Air. Uploaded with ImageShack.us However this is going back in next week. (I ordered some 2.7inch Hose and Pipe so that I can reinstate the factory air box), I wasn't keen on spending silly money on a cold air intake such as: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E30-E36-E32-E3...772&vxp=mtr (ends up being $200 with shipping and conversion to NZD). Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Yeap, its ugly that air box, but its bigger then the ones they usually have from what I can tell.
