The fuel pump may have failed? they don't last long when your low on fuel.

    NZ New E30

The pale one may just need the valve adjustment done, its meant to be done every 30,000k or so I think. The Dark one may feel heavier because it probably is, the SA ones have a bigger fuel tank, a sump guard, bigger tool kit etc. I'll have to come and have a nosey at your cars sometime and take you for a drive in mine so you can see how worth while a suspension upgrade and manual conversion is I also wonder if the SA Built ones have stiffer springs, as I found that mine seemed to ride fairly hard even when stock, (Compared to a UK Import one I used to own).

    NZ New E30

Nice, so which one do you like best? do they both feel similar to drive or feel a bit different? often at this age they can vary quite a lot, depending on how worn out the original suspension is, also the steering rack, does one feel like it has less play then the other? I love driving mine since getting decent suspension, but haven't been driving it much, my new house is almost built at Rangiora, so once I am away from the rough roads of New Brighton i'll get out in it more. I am doing the 1/4 Mile drags in mine on Sunday at Ruapuna. I decided to give it a good thrashing, as I have just purchased an 85,000k gearbox, so might as well give the current one a hard time and see how close I can get to the factory 1/4 mile time, which I believe is around 15.5-15.8 seconds for a manual 325i. Hopefully mine does ok, since it has no Cat, + a Miller Maf conversion + dyno tuned map.
  4. Yeah I could put them on a Pallet at work and Wrap it up etc. I could also get a price to send it on Bullet Freight, but won't be able to do that until I take them off the car and weigh them etc. Cheers
  5. Wouldn't mind your gearbox, mines from a Tech 1 with 280,000k's, its working ok still, but one with 85,000ks would be nice. Would offer $500 for the Gearbox, but you would need to be able to package it and send to Christchurch. (Would pay for the shipping of course). Cheers
  6. Can't be too dodgy, since its been fixed.. But I'd only buy a proper manual one
  7. Heya, Prefer to sell as is with tyres at this stage. To be honest I'll probably list them on trade me for a low reserve and hope for some bidding. but I need to wait until my 15's arrive. I'd hardly get anything for the tyres anyway, not the easiest things to sell I've found. My reason for selling them later without tyres was to allow for easier shipping. Cheers Charles
  8. These are in average condition for the age and come with good tyres. (All Centre caps seem to be in good nick). At this stage it will be ** Pickup Only ** in Christchurch and these won't be available for around 2 weeks as I have some Hartge 15" wheels coming down from the North Island and need time to get tyres fitted. Picture of them on my car: Uploaded with ImageShack.us I will consider sending them after the 1st 2 weeks if I don't have a local buying, however they will be sent without tyres. As they are with Tyres I want $500 ( 2 of the tyres cost me $300 a couple of months ago and have done about 3000k). Cheers Charles
  9. I have some 15" Hartge Wheels coming soon. (Light Weight ones). They are just 15x6.5 ET20, I assume my BBS 14's are ET24, so these might sit out a tiny bit more. They look like these: Uploaded with ImageShack.us The seller has 3 out of 4 Centre caps which I assume look like: Uploaded with ImageShack.us I'll be on the hunt for a 4th Centre Cap which could take some time, but i decided I didn't want some new generic clone BBS wheels, but instead wanted something old and original so to speak.
  10. Manual conversion is well worth it, it will increase the cars value by at least as much as you spend to convert it and make the car a lot more fun.
  11. Good on you for giving it a go yourself, these old BMW's are suited to DIY types, as you can spend a small fortune paying someone else to keep it running. I'm at the point now where I try and do everything myself, its a good way to learn
  12. Today Replaced Cam belt, Tensioner, Water pump (looked pretty rooted but was working fine), Front Cam and crank seals, viscous fan unit, drive belts, got a/c re gassed, replaced valve cover gasket, fuel filter, Temp sensor replaced. All 4 Brake discs, new brembo discs and CPLUS low dust Pads (Only need Street brakes) new brake fluid, new rear handbrake shoes. (Hand brake was useless). Old cambelt looked ok on the outside, but you could see cracking when you put it inside out.
  13. Yes, the E34 is a tad too heavy for the poor ole M20 imo
  14. He seems to be comparing it to this http://www.mmnz.co.nz/imiev/ However that has climate control, a top speed of 130km and a range of 150km as well as Airbags, ABS, ASC etc So its not really that similar.
  15. Welcome, nice car you have there, I think I'm becoming jealous of all these low Mileage E30's popping up here on Bimmersport. What plans have you got got for it? cheers
  16. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....t=0#entry475686 If I was still needing manual conversion parts i'd want them from this car for sure, 72,000k on it, don't think you'd ever find a better gearbox etc.
  17. Looks too good too wreck, Rego Dead I assume? I'm keen on the wheels, assuming they are 15's and in straight condition, with tyres too if they are any good. How much for these incl shipping to Christchurch?
  18. Mines sitting at 233,000k for now. My back bumpers cracked a little, I have a replacement one lined up, but plan to colour code them when I get some panel and paint work done soon. (The trim will be left black). I ended up going with this suspension, but at the time it was on sale http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-22130-e3...on-package.aspx
  19. What about this one? at least its a manual 525i http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-556217846.htm
  20. Very Nice example of an E30 you have there. I see its a South African Built car, these came with pretty much all the available options of the time and it would seem most of the Japanese Import E30 325i's are like that. The leather sport seats are great imo. (I have the same model, but with 2x the Wear and tear and km's). Mines lowered 40mm Front, 30mm back to give you an idea of ride height. (Only have 14" BBS). I think 15's look good, but also prefer 16" wheels, however it can be hard to find those, with the right offset etc. Like yours mine came as an automatic, however has since been transformed, you can often buy all the manual conversion parts together for around $6-700. Is it just me, or is your rear bumper colour coded (except for the trim piece)?
  21. I wonder how fast it would be with my sub, amp, + headlights on at night time, heater going.. mmm probably has no form of a/c or heating.
  22. If its a Jap Import one they often have that annoying Jatco automatic. The Engine is no power house and tends to chew up a bit of gas to get moving, I'd suggest going for the 525i model, it probably uses less fuel despite being bigger.
  23. Have you watched the Ep of Top Gear where each presenter has an E30 Vert? perhaps thats why you want one? was an entertaining episode for sure.
  24. Cool, now to see if he wants to trade in some 14 Weaves lol
  25. They seem to be lockable, but have BMW on the centre caps and are all 16x7 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=552743724
