Very nice, I much prefer the Hartge wheels, which reminds me, I need to start looking for something like that for my E30, those 14inch weaves look so small, to me 16inch is the perfect wheel size for an E30, but in saying that, I'm OLD. As someone else said, colour coding the bumpers (but leave the trim black) would look nice, that's something I'll get done to mine soon, that is when the cars on the road so I can take it to the Paint and Panel shop to get it done.

Very nice car, too bad I don't get to see it parked out on my street any more, but at least I can see it on here

hehe for sure, Its basically no better then http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=506153949

Yeah, looks a bit odd that droping lower bumper section. I guess they just painted the entire car white also or colour coded any black bits? assuming there was black bits. Looks like it has different headlights from left to right also

I just thought it was funny seeing insanely over powered E30's drag racing. Around a Track in a real race the GTR is always going to Win

I wasn't a fan of the ETA Block + 731 Head that one of my BMW's came with, it didn't like to rev out and while it felt more torquey then a stock M20B25, it didn't have the top end grunt. Ie, heres a 0-60mph with ETA block + 731 head Here's a stock M20B25 in the same car (the ETA engine failed after 2 weeks of me getting the car). As you can see, it liked to Rev out better with a Stock M20B25 **edit, whoops old post, but it was on the 1st page heh**

Hmm nice car really, another one I wouldn't mind owning. Then again i've seen loads of cars i'd like since paying all of my savings into a house deposit to get a new house built.. doh

Welcome to the club E30 FTW
-
Yeah, when I got the white one it had an eta block (2.7L) and 731 head, it burnt a bit of oil, but within 2 weeks of owning it, it blew its head gasket, so I swapped in a stock M20B25, however this engine also burnt oil, but not as much, it smoked a bit on startup however the main issue with the white car was some rust, it was a UK import, but it wasn't as bad as some i'd seen. This Silver E30 appears to have a good engine, as the oil level hasn't dropped at all in over 4 months (I changed it a few days after I got it).

Haha nice one I prefer my E30, the Merc isn't what I'd call a Drivers car hehe
-
Interesting Vid Sadly I only have the normal models of these 2 cars.
-
Yeah, these cars are much better in manual, (had a nice white 325i in manual some years ago, with alpina rep wheels etc, might be some old pics on this site somehwere. About 3 months ago I got this old war horse, so that I had transportation while the E30 was off the road, so far no issues with this car and only paid $1020 for it, with 162,000k and full service history from the last 12 years or so. Having a BMW and MERC is probably like Having a Ford and a Holden.. heh Someone else referred to my Merc as a "German Valiant" Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It could still be a good option I guess, but allow for replacing the cooling system, it seems the biggest weakness is all those plastic parts in the cooling system that seem to fail, of course this applies to all of the E39's, even the 2002 models.. I liked my E39, but it was the gutless 528i model, only things I had to fix were the heater resistor, electric seats, cam sensor. (was a 96 with 97,000k)
-
Not trying to be negative, but you should really avoid buying a 1996 E39, that's a 16 year old car now, the later E39's are better cars, save up some more money for a few months, it will be worth it, don't buy on km's, buy on age and condition.

I emailed your Gmail account, but if you didn't see that, I said how does $200 sound? But at this stage it might be easier for you to find the model that better suits your car. Cheers Charles

I have the actual Leather Gaitor, but I need the plastic frame this fits on to.
-
I can sell you the one from the BMW I got from you? Still works fine, but doing manual conversion Its out of the car and ready to go, can throw in the automatic Driveshaft too.
-
Manual conversion started finally.. That is.. the Autotranny, exhaust, drive shaft etc is removed.. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Pretty sure this car used to park on my street most weekends (Howe Street, New Brighton)
