^^ I don't imagine any SA imports were imported directly from South Africa. They went to Japan first then here. EDIT: Want mine? Make me an offer I can't refuse!

The options list for reading the build sheet is here.

Have you tried Eurorec on Blenheim Road? They usually have a few E30's.

Unless you own an M1, you generally won't make money on a BMW! Don't worry about that too much though. The reason the manual 540 fetches so much more money than the auto is the gearbox (they are very rare, and no other manual gearbox bolts to the engine), they're better spec'ed and have the rare Style 5 wheels (which I think is what you're referring to when you say "basketweaves"). If you have any pics of the car post them up, we all want to see this amazing find.

Yeah, I think it's just that new cars have overly-assisted brakes. I do it every time I drive my company's Ford Territory. Even the slightest touch on the brake and you're almost through the windshield. Similarly, when I was without a BMW for a few months and then first drove the E30 I almost went straight through a stop sign because I didn't apply the brakes hard enough! I don't think it's anything to worry about, she'll just adjust to it over time. Every newer car I've driven does the same.

Last time I saw one for sale (at a BMW dealer) I think they were asking 15 grand. Which, I imagine is probably quite a fair price seeing as these cars are as rare as the proverbial rocking horse excrement.

I believe the expansion tank is like a breather for the battery in case it overflows. Probably a good idea to leave it in so you don't get battery fluids leaking into the boot.

Yeah, Mazda Lantis... driven by an old fella who gave it absolute hell. Hilarious. The "van" was actually a Renault Clio Sport. 2.0 16v, very quick car actually. Gave some of the bigger-engined guys a run for their money.

Go to start > Run > then type moviemk.exe in the box and click OK.

Leaking sunroof? Or because it's a coupe, do your windows still seal properly when you shut the door? (The window should automatically go up few millimetres when you shut the door.)

Windows movie maker will do for simple editing, and it should be on all XP and Vista PC's.

Me likey the Tech II!!! I say shadowline the chrome trim around the windows, but apart from that, awesome result bro.

I hate TM scum... almost had a heart attack when I first saw the ad, then looked at price and facepalmed. It'll be a heap of rusty crap on bottleys.

If you're after the M3 seats because of the M-stripe decals, they are pins that you can buy from BMW or various aftermarket companies, they were used on the E28 M535i seats.

Welcome mate, nice 36. Good to see the Chch bimmersport crew is growing.

Yes, this is the article I was looking for when there was an argument about whether the E30 convertible interior would fit in a coupe. Point proven, cheers Brent!

Those 18's look like 13" chromey hubcaps on a car that big. Definitely needs to AMG 20's on it!

Debaffling the airbox is an E36 thing. Nothing you can do to improve the sound on the E30 airbox except get a CAI really.
-
Google "E36 buyers guide" .... results will tell you all you need to know.

^ stalk much? Sounds good eh...

Added a couple more washers today.... clutch is now really sharp, engages very quickly off the floor. Now I can move my seat back further so that when heel-toeing my thigh doesn't hit the steering wheel and the defunct cruise control stalk.
