  1. There should be a line marked on the expansion tank. That's the level the water should be at when the engine is cold. EDIT: Read up on bleeding your system properly to ensure there are no airlocks, don't want it to overheat.
  2. HAHAHAH! That's def going in the next episode of Bimmersport Street...
  3. Your car's a manual isn't it dude? Could be a broken shifter linkage or something? Best to limp it to a garage to get it checked.
  4. Nick, I like the spoiler-less look on sedans... perhaps because they're more boxy and "squat" than the coupe. Still undecided on what I think looks best, I'm leaning towards leaving it on. Mainly because it's a PITA to remove and costly to fill the holes, repaint etc
  5. Wow, that's a very early E30... cool project, I look forward to seeing how it turns out. Kit looks to have a Tech I front spoiler instead of the Zender item though.
  6. You'll have to cut the car up to fit a tech II kit. Stick with original, stick with cloth and tech I. Car will retain it's value that way.
  7. If you're really keen to find out more about the car, ring the Lotus dealership in Christchurch, see if they can tell you the rego plate number and then punch it in to CarJam Pay for the full report on the vehicle and you'll find out it's VIN number, which can be decoded fully by a BMW dealer. And you'll also find out the current owners details, so you can ring them and chat about their purchase.
  8. ^ ... and tech II wheel. Nice car though, tourings are f'ing cool!
  9. Fall out the wrong side of the bed this morning did we Brian? Let me explain the joke: Team McMillan BMW (a flagship BMW franchise) lists a BMW 2002 on Trademe as a 1975 E21 318i. It's funny because a BMW dealer really should recognise a 2002 as a 2002 and not the E21 3 series model which followed it. Just goes to show that even the infallible car dealer can sometimes be (humourously) wrong. Get it? I did... I lol'ed... ROFL'ed even.... and then I posted it for the mild amusement of fellow Bimmersport members. End of story (and ruination of joke, sorry all)
  10. I'm sorry if I piss you off. But the fact of the matter here is that I don't know that the car in question has been wound back. And you don't know that it hasn't. One of us is right, but neither of us know for sure. So therefore we are both making assumptions and you're as guilty as me for posting assumptions without concrete evidence. Pot, kettle? Anyway, back on topic. Now that I have more evidence at my disposal (previous owner's testimony etc) this car seems slightly more appealing, however I still don't think it is worth the asking price. This is purely my opinion... and personal opinions are a big reason why this sub forum was set up in the first place.
  11. Team McMillan Trademe fail
  12. Any reputable BMW mechanic will be able to do a pre-purchase inspection for you. Give Forum sponsor Glenn @ Botany Motorworx a call.
  13. Cosmos: My comments were based on personal experience. My E30 has a sketchy odometer, and my father's did also. Both were imported from Japan between 1994 and 2000, when odometer tampering was at it's height. The red 318 in question was imported in 1995 and when I made the above comments there were no seller comments on the auction explaining the need for a reconditioned head. Which led me to believe that the head had been done due to the engine having done big k's. While I don't know for certain that the odometer has been tampered with, I based my comments on what information was available to me at the time. I don't know that it has been wound, but like wise you don't know that it hasn't. 99% of comments made in the Trademe discussions forum are personal opinion or speculation, this is no different. Hope you can see where I'm coming from.

    Spotted Nice E30 325i

Mr Andre3000.... knew I recognised the plate from his sig
  15. Yes, but the only thing rarer than the car will be cash in your bank account. Atta has previously expressed wishing to downgrade due to other investments he has going on... A Cosworth Mercedes, IMO, is not a wise investment.
  16. I like gold... but black is growing on me though. Would have them painted Diamond Schwarz to match the car. Will go polished lip too on either choice.
  17. I vote M325i. Parts are the same as all E30s... tonnes of E30's around. Cossie's... not so much. How many are there in the country? I'd imagine less than 15.
  18. Dude..... hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooottttttt car! Quick P'shop on my fave shot.... just playing around for my own amusement on your nice SLR shots. Thought I'd post it.
  19. Wow... a trilogy? Then three more "prequels" and two more sequels... spin-off merchandise (t-shirts, lunchboxes, bottle openers) groupies, offers to direct Hollywood blockbusters, hanging with Tarantino, lots of cocaine, me being found face down in the swimming pool at the Playboy Mansion... I can see this spiralling out of control.

Sweet! That's really good. Might take mine in and see what they say.
  21. Dude, considering people are estimating the car with 400k's on it will go for 6k, if the k's on this car are genuine IMO 8g is a STEAL! The chassis number can't be decoded by the BMW VIN decoder.... did you get that number from Carjam?
  22. How'd he get them off without the special tool? Must have gorilla hands or something.
  23. Take a look at this thread... it should help you determine what your car is. Guide to M325i Is your car a four door? If so, it's not a genuine "M325i" or "325is". Just a badge.
