  1. Check your engine and gearbox mounts.
  2. It is a 1978 model and the vinyl seats were pretty common, however it has the facelift doors, the early versions had chrome mirrors mounted below the window line on the door skin itself. Also the door pull on the drivers side is missing a bit and the passengers door pull needs adjusting. Pod filter done and battery transferred to the boot. Provided there is little rust this car could be worth around $4000. Expect a 4 speed gearbox.
  3. Those are not the rims that were originally pictured on that T.M listing. They were genuine M3 rims but had the centre caps on so could have been 15's or 16's, or they just got a photo from google and put that up. Must have changed the photos in the last couple of days. The original photo was exactly what I was after, damn.
  4. Well, there you go. Guess I shall be having a peak sometime soon.
  5. "June 2005 production ... definitely one of the last ones. That'll have CSL headers and Cats - bonus! Tom, I never knew that, where did you find that info?
  6. You are not overfilling the radiator?
  7. I do agree with all of the above, dislike the X1, the 2 Series Active and the first Gen GT's. However, that is in NZ. Overseas in a completely different environment they look much more acceptable, eg the I3 in San Fransico, or London, just looks as though it belongs. The early GT's which look really awkward here in NZ kind of made sense in Europe and the US as do the X6's Some of the BMW designs are only now starting to grow on me, - the E65 and the E60 for example. Also the E90 ain't pretty but with the right wheels or Motorsport package does't look as bad. But looking back on the topic, -" least desirable BMW's," at this stage the E36 series is the winner for me, the Tourings are ok and the M3's are very nice, but we are talking about least desirable and I have difficulty in accepting that in the future the E36 will ever be as popular as the E30 or even the E46.
  8. The new diesels are great, but, I do think you would be much better off sorting out your electrics with what you have, than adding a modern diesel and its requirements to the equation. I would think that no matter what engine / gearbox combo you have in your E30 someone else on this forum has done it and will be more than happy to help sort out your issues. There is a meet on this Sunday 24th July for E30 folk at The Groynes at 1pm, come along, you never know.

    E21 bits

    Time to reactivate this thread.
  11. Cannot disagree with them either and Chris Harris has a point. But I think the E30 wins.
  12. I had a similar problem, when engine was cold, clutch was just ok, but after 30 mins of driving around town it craunched when ever I selected first. Checked that the clutch had no slip by revving to 3000rpm in 3rd and dropping the clutch, result- instant stall, so clutch fine, no fluid leaks. JG BMW suggested, in fact said that would be the slave and they were right. Braided lines would have helped too as Dave said.
  13. How did I miss that??? Cheers Dave

    Sold

Last I heard was that the shell had been sold and the car was going to live again. The PO, (Steffan) Bwaaarcode is out of BMW's and working on a Skyline so unlikely to be monitoring this site.

    E21 bits

I spent 3 years looking for the genuine Motorsport front when I had the E21, that was a few years ago mind. Strangely there seems to be more E21's around now than there was back in the day. I saw those fronts on Ebay the other day.

The motorsport front spoiler with the 6 slots still looks great today, but try finding one, that BBS spoiler only survived because it is ABS plastic. Rear speakers $40 plus shipping.

  21. I know you are selling on behalf, but are you sure this has a dogleg gearbox? The diagram on the top of the gear knob in picture 5 is the normal pattern. Good luck with the sale, cruisey cars.
