  1. Heh, he just needs the rear seats in leather, he currently has houndstooth. But yes it looks stunning. I thought the Recaros would look out of place but they suit the car well esp with the Black door cards.
  2. No, sold to a local here in Christchurch. Also took the absolutely unmarked black E30 4 door, door cards I was about to put on here and TM.
  3. Genuine Evo 3 seats with the correct coverings are worth a little more (sorry can't tell from photos if these are, the fact they were recovered would suggest not) but either way these are awesome seats that look period correct and fit great. Wish I had an E30 worthy of them... My understanding is that these came with the Motorsport stripe covers from the UK but were pretty much stuffed, hence the recovering. Does the user name "Ollie" enlighten you? I have sent some photos of the underside of these seats to another Bimmersport member who will be more clued up than me.
  4. Ok, I looked it up and the seat sliders look like the Recaro seat sliders with tabs on Turner Motorsport site. The seat rails bolt to the floor in the usual E30 manner, using the factory threaded holes and bolts in the floor. I also have a set of early E30 Recaros (see first photo) and a set of E30 Motorsport Recaro style seats and they all fit the M3 and the at least the E30 coupes. One of these other seats will replace the Recaros up for sale If you zoom in on the front anchor point of the seat in the first picture you can see the tabs with the rod and the 3 height adjustments
  5. To be honest I have never studied seats and so unsure of what exactly a slider rail is. I presume it is a seat rail / base which allows fore and aft movement . These seats allow the fore and aft movement and have 3 heights available by way of rods which require an allen key to change from one height to another. Will post a picture in the morning. I assumed that the seat base / rail of these seats was the standard set up for the Evo cars, partly because of the Recaro sticker on the rail and partly because the only other seats like this that I have seen are /were in an M3 Evo3 and it had the same set up, but that Evo had several non std items in board - steering wheel, instrument panel in light grey, single wiper, and Wilwood pedal box. Enlighten me please. I shall post seat rail pictures in the morning
  6. As per the pics, Black / charcoal Nappa leather Recaros, recovered a few years ago but in exceptional condition. Came out of a left hand drive car, but seats have backrest adjustment, entry tilt levers and seat buckle attachments on both sides, so can be used in righthand or lefthand drive cars and fully interchangeable. $2300 to Bimmersport members . .

    Quick Questions

Glenn is right. Bet someone has been in there to replace a regulator or speaker.
  8. The Z3 I was interested is at this stage too expensive, besides I bought a 2005 E46 M3 CS for considerably less than the asking price of the M Coupe. I shall revisit the Z3 in a few months when I can persuade my wife that I need a project.
  9. The red 325i Schnitzer is the one, I doubt if you could find a better E36 for sale in NZ.
  10. Cheers for that Ray, so, am I to guess that about $45,000 to $50,000 would be perhaps fair, or is that a bit much? Anyone else care to comment? Cheers Don
  11. I have come across a 1998 Z3 M Coupe which may come up for sale. I would like to make the current owner a fair offer. Part of the problem is that it is a bit of a barn find and the rest is as follows....... WBSCM91030LB55804 Japanese import, converted to righthand drive (in NZ I think) in 2003. Last used probably 2013 when the rego was put on hold. Colour is Estoril Blue with black and blue leather. Mileage is just under 58,000kms S50B32 engine, 5 speed gearbox. The engine, (I only had a very brief look) was missing the plastic rocker cover and the throttle bodies looked different from the E36 S50B32. It could be just the plastic missing though. Anyway the alloy rocker cover has that powdery white coating of oxidation on it. It goes, according to the owner, but I doubt if it has had a service or at least a proper service since 2003. In terms of body condition out of 10 it is about a 6 or 7, with a couple dents, scratches and a gouge on the bonnet by the grill, this will require a repaint of the bonnet. Little bits of trim are missing here and there, eg cover for the knuckle of the rear windscreen wiper, the chrome around the gearshift come to mind. I will probably find the owner has a totally unrealistic value, but it is worth a try.
  12. Glenn wins again! pulled the door card off - not too difficult with the door locked - checked the operation of the lock mechanism, now working fine, checked half a dozen times, still working as it should and then door card back on and been great since. So thanks again Glenn.
  13. You could be right there Glenn, I put the door handles etc back in, it was the first time I have done it, so anything could have gone wrong! Once the door opened and shut and the handles seemed to be working fine I was happy, never gave the locking mechanism a thought. Cheers for the advice.
  14. 2001 import 330CI, had the drivers door card and door handle off to repaint the door. Reassembled and door opened and shut as you would expect. Locked the car with the remote, door locked. Hit the unlock button and the door locked clicked as usual and the door knob popped up as usual. However the door stays locked. Tried the key manually, lock turned and knob pops up but the door stays locked. Next tried the unlock/lock button on the centre consol, same result, knob pops up, but the door stays locked. Does not open using the inside door handle either, even if you pull it twice. The passengers door does not unlock and the button stays down, (was like this before this drama) the boot and fuel flap both unlock. I can get into the car by rolling down the windows on the key, reach in and pull the passengers door pull twice. Help!!! Cheers Don
  15. Nice honest looking car, and a good score. Like the sneaky little self advert there on the 2nd pic.

    Quick Questions

Have you checked your earths? Esp the starter motor earth?
  21. Had a similar problem with a PFL 320i a few years ago, took it to a mate and he rotated the distributor a few degrees and suddenly it became a rocketship, - well, went better than a 320 should.
  22. You could try Patrick Upholstery Agnew Bros M S Upholstery All would charge about $400 - 500 to remove headlining, replace fabric and re install. Sun roof may increase that cost a bit. (Was $350 for my coupe with no sunroof) It would be cheaper if you removed the headlining, took of the fabric and glue, and then reinstalled it all. Having done that it is not a big step to glue the new fabric on yourself.
  23. Welcome Sonny, the 328 is a great machine, Shame it over heated. Do you know how much damage has been caused? Replacement engine needed? There are many members on here who will be able to help with information and parts. All the best.
