    WTB: E46

I have a friend that has a silver 2000 E46 320i with the 2.2 motor, auto, Motorsport wheels and front bumper, cannot remember if it has the full bodykit though. Done about 135,000kms. Wants $7000. Very tidy. Interested?
  2. Have a mate that needs to replace his M20B20, would prefer F/L and something with more power, eg B23 or B25, but not too fussed. Anything in Christchurch? Cheers
  3. I think this car is a bit too rusty to be worth saving. I should imagine that the floor in the passenger compartment will be rusty along with the lip around the boot. I cannot remember, but I would also expect to find rust underneath the windscreen, similar to that pictured for the rear screen. All in all it could be a big project and the cost will be high. The value of these cars is increasing but it will be many years before they reach collector status. I would be dead keen on the steering wheel on this car though. The M20B25 motor in these cars transform it, bit like putting the M20B25 into an E30 320.

    Dad's E30

Amazing how changing the wheels improve the looks of the car, especially if the new ones are basketweaves. Those blue interiors seem to wear better than the grey. I have a 320i coupe with the blue interior and it is in great condition. Reckon it won't be long before coloured interiors like this are back in fashion. Least thats what I tell myself. Seems to sit pretty low for a p/fl. a lot lower than mine. Nice car.

    E30 manual coupe

Selling on behalf of a friend. 1987 NZ new p/fl manual coupe which as far as I can see is pretty much original. Even has the original (working) radio and ride height! Condition is better than most, everything works ( most of it is manual though) No rips or tears in the seats Done 156500kms. Paint is very good. Has been properly serviced on a regular basis. Great on trips. However, revs a little high ie about 1000 Knob for the manual sunroof is missing, the handle is there. There is a little bubble of rust on the sunroof (not quite through the paint yet) The gearshift boot is disintegrating and one of the bushes in the gearlinkage is sloppy. Dent on passengers door. Asking $3500. Text on 021 1766 763 Cheers Don
  8. Personally I would lower it, plenty of lowering springs available if you ask the question, and you will get great advice and in most cases pictures of what your car will look like when done, from the forum members. Next, a manual conversion. By then you will have your own ideas. Keep on the forum, look at other builds etc, for inspiration. But first I would check when and what has been done regarding servicing, if in doubt, new oil, oil filter, possibly coolant, and remember these models have a cambelt which may need replacing.
  9. Welcome Chris, you will find plenty of help and parts on this forum. Is this your first E30?
  10. Where are you, do you have an auto or manual gearbox? Need some basic information to be able to give you an opinion, but generally speaking it will be cheaper and quicker to replace the "gearbox" with a secondhand replacement.
  11. Looking good. Reasonably rare in white, like the wheels. The kms mean very little, it is all in the servicing. Enjoy.

    E30 325i Work Log

Those are pretty fair prices, what about shipping costs? BTW car is looking good, very good.

    M10 Issues

Vacuum leak? Check the hoses etc and spray something like carb cleaner around the engine / manifold etc and see if the engine idles changes. If it does, you have a leak.
  14. I am pretty sure that the current Mini One / Mini Ray steel wheels will do the job, just widen them. The local Mini dealers will probably have a few sets as many people will replace the steelies with alloys. They are 15''.
  15. Getting around 9.5l/100km going to and from work - no rush hour traffic and just over 7l/100km on the open road, can do Christchurch to Dunedin and return (nearly 800km) on a tank and still have fuel left over. An auto would be worse than this
  16. Well that clears that up. Thank you. Will go for the slightly sharper handling.
  17. Was checking the ball joints on my 1997 E36 328 and I'm pretty positive that my car has E30 control arms. We have a couple of E30 325's and the control arms and ball joints on them, look identical to those on the E36. Is this some sort of suspension improvement or a cost cutting measure? To convert back to E36 arms do all the bushes need to be changed over too?
  18. Welcome. Like the white one too, especially the interior, never seen a red E34 interior.
  19. Check that your fuses and relays are tight and have good connections.
  20. Welcome to the forum. Changing those tail lights should be a priority!!!! Good looking car, like the wheels.
  21. My understanding is that there are only 5 sets of keys for your car. 3 are supplied with the car and 2 remotes are held in a huge safe in Germany. Something to do with requirements in Europe. Supposedly if all the keys are used up or lost, then you have to change all locks including ignition, which is expensive.
  22. I met up with Jesse last month in Portland. The complete set of bushes less the front swaybar, inner control arm bushes, the engine and gearbox mounts cost me USD260. I took my old rear subframe mounts with me. Would expect the postage to be around USD50, - could wrong on that but that is what I paid for a similar size/weight earlier this year ( camera gear ) arrived in about 12 days.
