Whoa, replies! Thanks for the kind words. Simon - the bug is actually a suck camera car as its super stiff and bouncy. But it is photogenic. A cool little car I rekon.

Nice, thanks for the heads up Mark.

Good work man this e30 is coming along a lot faster than most. Be a shame if it wasn't road legal. Thought about just leaving the m20 in and going 2.7?
-
Ok rear seats i'm not 100% sure about lol. But I've interchanged the fronts without issue.

Yea but... "anybody knw whats going on ? " .. come on, what is that? Pretty insulting to ask for _free_ help like that I reckon.

If you guys want to get the most respected, useful and generous member on here to leave you are going the right way about it. Please don't!

Will adding a cold air box to an E30 gain more power?

Wait, so theres 2 of these? wow. This could be westys next challenge... looks like hes done a lot of what they've done on a smaller scale -
The air con compressor. Is the belt always supposed to spinning, with the switch actuating a clutch that then hooks up the compressor? Or is the belt supposed to be still and only start spinning when you press the switch? Sorry, I've loaned my bentley to someone 1983 e30 323i, m20 motor. Thanks, Max

I didn't have to do that and I rekon you'd be wiser to drop the subframe instead.

I was able to get the sump out by just lowering the steering rack and lifting the engine a bit with an engine support, but it gets a bit messy wedging it back in with the gasket goo everywhere so in heinsight I would lower the subframe. Undo the oil lever sensor and ground strap before you start, and don't forget to put them back on! An electric drill with a 10mm bit would be really handy for getting to most of the bolts around the edge of the sump. Don't over tighten the little bolts all around the edge of the sump! I cant remember what the official torque spec is but its really low and I managed to strip one by going a bit over. If you are lifting the engine it would pay to inspect the engine mounts and replace them while you are at it. http://www.strictlyeta.net/technical/oilpan.html glhf

Got this kinda cool photo the other day with one of them big fancy cameras. I had no idea what I was doing but the pics still look a squillion times better than the ones taken with the little digicam.
