yeah w3rd, that is the point of mods-making your engine make better use of the energy it produces, and produce more to begin with vtec was an economy tool, and an environmentally safe marketing tool back in the day... I remember the tv ads with sir edmund hillary blahing on....

nate, dont gut your cat, instead get it taken out completely... gutted catylic convertors make some cars sound like brass razoos.... for a fairly princely sum you could get a cat replacement pipe made up, the way emmissions sh*t for wofs is goin it might be advantageous to be able to put a cat back in at short notice not too hard to gut them yourself, just dont gt the platinum (i think thats what it is) on ya, apparently does nasty things.... theres an exhaut shop in palmy/feilding somewhere that will take out your cat and put in a piece of straight pipe, as long as they get the cat... maybe worth askin an exhaust shop down your way.... they cash the cats in for scrap, worth a few bucks

microtech ecu... LT/LTX-8 $1456.88 waaaaaayyy better than bosch ewwness :mosh: another couple hundred bucks would give you the dash to suit as well.... legend

awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :gay: j/k lol, I've found that the more economic cars I've had have been the ones with a more "performance oriented" engine - 13b turbo rx7, 4age ae86, blah blah blah... more effortless to get around I guess

gauge might not be giving a true quarter of the tanks volume..... do a whole tank then work it out mathematically, you may be surprised.... my laurel uses te "first quarter" in 20km, sure it says it's a quarter of the tank but in reality it's f**k all, half way to empty takes forever

why would you bother when you can get them locally?

word, everytime i've been into jeff gray's in palmy, they seem to only be parts fitters, sending anything vaguely difficult out to an outside workshop it seems.... the parts guys may only know what the epc tells them, which I hear the BMW one is vague and gives you options of everything (isuzu one rules hard), not filtering out which is on that vehicle, and there wont be any schematic drawings, just exploded pics, you have to find out tricks from fiddling with stuff - OE workshops are never prepared to do that... I work at an isuzu workshop.... doesnt mean I'm mr Isuzu.... Internet is a great place for information, and more commonly, porn... whilst waiting for that filthy midget porn vid to download next time, do a search on some decent forums, there's a wealth of information out there, you don't have to take it as gospel though... read a few tech articles/posts and get the general consensus.. shouldn't be too hard to rig up something that will work it, :thumb:

hahahaha, ebay, wot?? definitely worth a go pricing them up at skf then.... if they're just a common bearing then sweet as, sounds as though you have to replace hub?? $258 is cheap then, lol toyota cavalier's cost $3000+ to do that same job and they f**k out all the time!!

saeco, precision, or skf... in palmy skf is the goods... make sure you do the seal while you're in there, and pack them with a decent grease-go for one rated well in excess of the job..... :thumb:

word.... temperature rises, viscousity of the oil changes... laymans terms-it gets thinner.... harder for the oil pump to hold at high pressure as it escapes through oil galleries easier...

word... but was he really driving terribly or was it that he was being unduely "picked on"? As an officer, rick, I'm sure the stereotype offends you immensely. That said, I'm sure by the general consensus of this board, it also offends the "general public".. examples of the stereotype appear daily, my grandfather for example got pulled the other day for runnig through a red arrow - theres no red arrow to run on the particular intersection....... In my opinion, theres to many robocops out there, I used to get pulled constantly in my toyota, almost got skooled with a baton one night for doin 67 in a 50, when in reality I was doing about 30kph, and the cop just wanted to hassle a carload of "15-24 year old boyracers" - they stereotype me, I dont fit into this stereotype, but too bad.... then again, I can stereotype "the feds" ever spent 30min pulled over on the side of the road when you're on the way to a calculus exam and end up late, when all you did was drive a lightly modified (fully within the law) "hot hatch" kind of car??? ever had your house broken into and precious family stuff takin, cops knowing who it is and nothing get done about it, yet they cruise the road ytou live on almost 24/7 just pulling up cars??? ever have a motor vehicle get stolen, and cops not pursuing it because "a gang does it all the time, there's nothing we can do"? ever sit inside your house, waiting for police to arrive, whilst some random guy with a machete is parading around outside, trying to be let in to get away from some guys that are looking for him? dude, not indicating into a lane on a motorway, although illegal, is not worthy of a fine in my, lets say, nieve civilian opinion... this opinion is shared quite heavily by the general public, had it been a middle aged woman, would she have been ticketed? I urge you to truthfully say that she would have been treated with the same heavy handedness

I've alway run a power cable to the boot from the engine bay...... shifting your battery to the boot is harder to do, and way more expensive.... you could run a deep cycle battery in the boot, but to make sure it has enough power (an amp will run it flat in a few hours) you'd need to run a power cable from the front, as an absolute minimum..... so therefore, waste of time.... get an amp wiring kit from ripco, they have heaps of powercable, speaker cable and 5m rcas, rca quality probably isnt the top of the line but for like $50 I don't really care

look at those big manly hands...... ew....

word... sell me yours cheap
-
grab some pics if you can dude, keep it original - buy a common as m325i if you're going to fux0r it with drifting... 318iS's aren't quite as common as you would think.... apparently only 5 or thereabouts in nz..

skooled bro.... I've had a fine or two thats pretty sh*t cause as well, but again, if you got a fine there must be a reason, if not, contest it.... I always thought of fines like this as being kind of o.k. given the number of neat misses that most people have, I've *almost* benn pinged for like 112 soooo many times, a couple of times I've managed to somehow get away with 120, so when I got stuing with a similar fine I didn't mind too much, I could have been ticketed in excess of that a few times.... and hell every single cent goes toward road safety, roading improvements, and training new police officers!!!!!!! *note heavy sarcasm* were they justified or what? I must agree with ollies post though, it seems the police force is being run as a profitable business these days, real crimes ARE going on without anything happening, I have many many experiences where "the feds" have't done a thing about alot of crimes, ranginr from vehicle theft, to attempted home invasion, to assaults, traffic "offences", the list goes on and on... when i was a youngin, police were people you looked up to, the highest honour for a child was to talk to a cop, they were, in kids thinking, real heros, nowadays i have no respect whatsoever for them, bad stereotype, but hell, one bad apple spoils the whole bunch. latest example that I've seen of sh*t policing is sparkle gettin pulled up for doing less than 50 in the 5-0... cop came caning up, pulled us over, went absolutely nato at sparkle... thought he was gonna deck him, for doing nothing.... wow, young guy in a mint car, harrassment over hurr.. ya cant win, as long as you're doing nothing wrong then *theorectically* you wont get done for anything, if you fit into a stereotype (young guys in cars) then you WILL get hassled, I used to get pulled up in my ae86 every time I drove it in town, half hour pull overs were commonplace, as police scoured it for something to ticket me on... wtf.. yet i could get away with caning round in my brothers fairmont v8 with no mufflers, 17s, and 4 across the back seat without a problem... go figure. andy-just because there's a cp on the board doesnt mean you can't express your true opinions, I'm sure he comes on here as "joe average", not as a cop.. cher

random.... good for you man! :thumb:
