  1. x1,also get a wheel alignment done ,but dont go to the cheapest person, go to someone with experience working on bmws.
  2. ideal offset 20et if its as low as youve said ,8.5 wide 15et will be very close to outer guard, just remember when buying aftermarket wheels make sure they are hub centric or you get correct size centre bore locating rings.or its going to be a real shakey ride.hit up johno(zenetti) he should have something..
  3. im a sales manager for a tyre importer and sometimes retail manager for our tyre shop in mt eden village( depends on wheather our staff show up lol) most days i drive a 05 XR6 falcon ute (with 18'' just because the tyre industry is a wank industry and reps need to look cool blah blah)the owner is tring to upgrand me to a 07 SV6 commodore but ive used it a few times and to be honest id rather walk.not being a dick but the old falcon is a million times better to drive.oh yeah i have my little e30 to drive when i want to get crazy with the power ,Go 318 Go you good thing.lol
  4. i have three p/plates, "82lose" which is on my e30,and ive added a "H " only problem is every wrx owner tries to race me.most people believe its a car thing but it isnt.im a Aries and hate to lose "4gone" which is on my lowered corona, another one ,wrx owners try to race."its a x-taxi thats 1800 auto get over it"" "okle".which ive never used and only brought cos it was cheap and i just gave my flatmate a plate "betchr" for his ae86 trueno

    Well I never

slightly off topic,a few weeks ago i was driving threw lynfield-greenbay.a school girl im guessing sixth form, walked straight out of a shop texting and straight across the road without even looking up,thankfully she wasnt hit.i was three or four cars back but i still gave the abs in my xr6 ute a good test.i'd say if i was in my e30 i would have not pulled up as quick
  6. i would try sanding the leading edge of the pads this should fix for a while my personal opinion is replace brake pads when machining disks saves the time and hassle if this does happen, and i always use bmw parts not cheap parts. listen to botany he knows what hes talking about
  7. i believe junior doctors and doctors should get good money, they are over used and under valued.my best friend walked into the hospital happy as and two years later hes still in a wheelchair and has limited use of his hands,a operation gone wrong.but we all believe this may not have happened if we had the right people working as doctors .just because aunty helen clarke only wants to pay crap wages to the people most needed in this country we ended up with over worked and pissed off doctors,or worse doctors from over seas that cant work in their country because they stuffed up so they come to ours and when things go pear shape they are off, look at the doctor in wanganui.im not saying all doctors from overseas are like this,my doctor is from south africa hes great..
  8. 70% of the cars ive ever sold have been written off or stolen,so if you see me selling a car run like the wind, lol
  9. sorry for delay, how i discovered this problem was,a mate turned over the car while i moved the wire.
  10. hi ive had a simular problem in my old e30 320 manual, every now and again would stop for no reason,we put it up on the hoist to discover the earth wire for the fuel pump was stuffed,it would make connect most of the time then sometime wouldnt.not saying this is the problem but its a maybe
  11. yeah ill have to bite the bullet and send the cluster away.cheers
  12. hi ever since i brought my e30 the odometer has never worked,so i replace it with a 2nd hand unit,it worked for the 1st 500km's or so perfectly, but now only works when it feels like it.everything else seems to work and the service light have been reset and lights have stay out,ive read some of the other forums on here about simular problems, and have tried different things with no luck.if someone has any idea please share
  13. my understanding of m3 bmws wheather be e36 or e46 the wheel are stagger fitment.fronts being 8 '' wide & 9'' rears as the rear suspension is different to normal 3 series. i was sure the e36 m3 run 225/45/17 on the fronts and 255/40/17 rears.so if you were to up size to 18'' you would need to run 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rears so im guessing if you want to run a 235/40/18 on a factory e46 m3 rear rim being 9'' it would be extremely stretched and the difference between 225/40/18 & 235/40/18 are really big, considering the a.b.s. i would be talking to one of our sponsors, botany motorworx he can give you advise on weather it does/doesnot effect a.b.s
  14. back on again due to time waster, time waster gave me deposit to hold while he went to bank for rest of money, told me one hour,i rung &txt this d#$khead for about a week, before him and his mum came back to ask for his deposit back.he didnt have money to buy and was tring to get his mum to buy for him.
  15. another place to try is bm workshop botany.not tring to take work from a sponsor but its another option
  16. my 2 cents,if your after a black centred rim with big lip,try the kmc dime.i think its a pretty cool aftermarket wheel thats not to over the top and has a bmw look about it.im sure most tyre shops in palmy should stock them
  17. yep im there,im next door at the tyre shop.sorry buddy i dont know about exhausts, but most of the guys on bimmersport have already been there and done that, so take in what they have to say.most have good advise
  18. completely off subject.were you at midas mt eden last week?i heard & seen a loud e36 coupe but was too busy to go over to check it out,im next door to them at the tyre shop
  19. really sucks, yeah weve have had a talk to the landlord about rent and how he has broking the contact,by halving the property.his answer is to "f&%k off" if we dont like it.nice guy aye lol thanks
  20. 1986 prefacelift coupe 318 5 speed manual lowered 40 mm 14'' alloys great little car need a few little things.like paint touched up price for bimmer sport members $2000.00 p/plate not inc.. on trade me classified #135175709 my land lord gave me a wonderful christmas gift, gave us a months notice that he is knocking down our garage and putting a house up so we lose all our off street parking.
  21. heres a couple of pictures of what happens to tyres with neg camber, customer got fail at wof did not relise this happen to bmws when they are lowered.these are a quailty bridgestone potenza with good rubber compound not a chinese brand with hard compound check out the cracks
  22. give the guys at autolign a call .i believe they have a adjustable arm to fix this and they can set it up ,its cheaper in the long run if you look at how many tyres you can go threw a year, and even if you flip you tyres once every two months at $40 a time it adds up real quick.and tyres are not designed to sit over on one side all the time so they will end up cracking in the side wall costing more money.i know i have customers with extreme camber and flip their tyres once every two months , not even six months they have to buy new tyres.these are bmw with 60mm drops .ive talked to them about getting kit but they cant see sence in spending X amount now for kit and then only buying one set of tyres every year or so,instead of buying up to 3 set in a year.
  23. when the car is inspected its the whole car not just parts.because the certifer is responsible to make sure the car will not fall apart around what he has certed. mark is a real good guy have used him on heaps of cars when i was running a performance workshop.
  24. hi johno i guess i opened a big can of worms with how i wrote this.and knew id get alot of people up in arms about it ,but like in every thread i do,i cause a little uproar with people for or against what ive said. and i was simply telling others on this forum this size tyres is on the market,if there are others like myself who dont only own bmw ,these may suit another of their projects.like small cars running 155/80/13 from factory yes most people do want correct sizes, but there are those who want stretch, undersized or biggest wheel they can fit on,like 20s on little cars..like they said "you can lead a horse to water but cant make it drink" the worst thing i seen in the industry is over sized wheels,i had a customer in the other day with 20" wheel he had brought from trade me for his e36 and wanted tyres, there are people in our industry selling what ever to who ever,i told him my thoughts but the person he brought them from on trade me (whos a shop that will remain nameless )said he would be sweet.in my opinion alot of the people in the wheel industry are idiots. the smallest 20" tyre were still too big but thats what he was told him to use by the person selling the wheels. theres pros and cons to everything that happens in the wheel industry, if the wheel is the wrong offset; the wheel bearing will flog out quicker over time which 60% of all wheel on the market are. all bushes joints will flog out quicker over time if the wheel is over sized; wheel scraping on guards brake failure due to heavier rolling weight.(ive been in a car that needed the handbrake to slow down because the brakes would fail smallest car biggest wheels idiot)
