wouldn't bother, did my E30 myself but next time I'll just get the pros to do it. you'll probably spend at least $80 or more on tint itself, more if you make a mistake, which you will. That said, all the side windows turned out ok but the rear is shitty. I pulled my side windows out and made it way easier, I just pulled of the door cards and started unbolting sh*t until the windows came out, dont think the E36 will be too different.
Seriously though is one of the most frustrating jobs you can do yourself, not reccomended.

bugger, um any chance we can make it after 10th Feb? I said january as I wasn't expecting it to happen first week of Feb. How much to join the canterbury car club?
-
Same here, anytime next year after january

Who organised the track day? I'd like to do a few laps round ruapuna but haven't managed to get out there yet
-
dam sorry for your folks,
as everyone else said, just be thankful no one was hurt. Could have been way worse if they were caught sleeping
-
Did mine myself, I took all the side windows out to do them but left the back in. Side windows were all good, (still are) but the back is shitty and needs to be done by a pro.
For what you will pay for the tint itself just get a pro to do it, its really not worth the time mucking round with it.

Tyres
in Performance
I saw some P zeros after being on a VW toerag for 10000km, they were f**ked. Only cost $1000 each.
After saying that you'll hear good and bad things about every brand so it is hard to
decide what to go with.

Haha wait 'til it breaks.Dear god I love my car
my bad, deleted wrong stuff.
wait for the E36 guys to chip in with more info though.

wow, my mate was going on about 2.4L head problems and how a free flow exhaust is supposed to help.
Landcruisers are good but probably overpriced for what you'd want it for, 3.0L surf be just as good and a bit better on the road as they are independent in the front.
Only thing with toyota is their mega ripoff parts. massive markup on certain bits, up to and over 800% markup over cost.

Tyres
in Performance
toyo make a tire called something like Maxmiler, designed for taxis etc. Not sure what sizes it comes but they can last for up to 80000km. Haven't driven on it so can't tell you anymore but ask a toyo dealer about that.
As for other tires of the ones I've used I reckon the Toyo TPTs give a real good compromise between grip/durablility/cost. Don't have a real chunky pattern though.

welcome, yeah should be M40, I doubt there are any '89 M10's running around. hmmm, auto, is that what you want or cos you can't find anything else? It costs most people atleast $500 to convert more like $800 or more though so if you want a manual I'd just wait longer until one comes along. Where abouts is it from, NZ new, japan, South africa, UK? Probably worth around $3000 or less (sorry should be a bit less than that- forgot about broken water pump), have a look on Tardme and see what they going for. Can't help on water pump sorry but shop around as some prices vary heaps.

surface area has nothing to do with friction force (or grip)the wider you go, the more surface area on the road you will have.
but remember that the wider the tyre dosnt mean the more grip you will have. If you go too wide, you will end up with less grip.
9" rears would be over kill.
on the other hand....wide body kit. with dish.
Also, my Zs mag that got burnt will be out of the shop soon. :thumb:
its the whole friction equation- friction force = friction co-efficient x normal force
or in our case- grip = goodness of tyre used x weight of car on wheel. so according to that wider tires don't give you any more grip... but I'll let you guys prove me wrong
Getting real wide tires will make it way easier to aquaplane, but look f**king cool

Does anyone have or know where I can get a diagram (yeah i forgotten what the proper name would be) for an M10B18 exhaust flange? Basically I want to start building manifold for turbo and I want to get the flange cut on a CNC profile cutter. This way I can easily get a few copies as mistakes happen. I basically need the port spacings and sizes. Otherwise an old manifold would do, I'm just too lazy to pull mine off.
Cheers

sorry I meant to say adjustable camber, is that blue plate adjustable or just give extra camber?
dam 200rwhp from NA M20, rad.
-
very cool, how much power are you expecting with headers, injectors and intake/exhaust mods?
Will that swaybar mount on the subframe be reinforced? also no camber plates on the front? or have i missed something?

Know exactly what you mean. Worse thing about the preF/L is the rear end. I'll probably paint a whole lot of stuff at once, mirrors, smooth and paint the front and rear valance. Can someone photoshop on one of those lip spoilers for the boot? and also make the sills on the side white? I cant decide if I'll like it or not. That is impressively clean - i don't think i've ever had my engine bay that mint.
Strangely i don't dig the painted air dam - at least not with the factory wrinkle coating on the front valance - it always makes the color match look off. If you get time smooth out the front valance and paint the dam and the valance in one go. I'm also thinking i should somehow give you my old air damn off the 323 - it has the cool brake ducts in it also.
Would also paint the rear valance again - its always bugged me on pre/fl e30s without bodykits (esp when there its black/half black) like daves car (pic attached) it just looks wrong.
Not being an ass or anything - just pre/fls can look pretty sweet but they all have the some problems.
Will: you should of seen daves car before the slut attacked it
I don't know if your airdam will fit, from what Ive seen the cars with brake ducts have a different shaped front valance, there are a few small differences between them, ie although fog lights are the same lens different mounting brackets are needed.

All depends on what you want to do with the car and how much you want to spend
Just buy off the shelf springs like kings, jamex, whiteline etc. They vary in height from 20mm lower to 80mm, but I wouldn't go any lower than 60mm, even that is probably a bit too much. Shocks have been covered heaps, have a search.
Heaps of bigger sways available from the states but you get raped on freight. I know SAS can get bigger swaybars in. I dont know who else supplies them in NZ. 325i bars bolt straight in, you just need endlinks and brackets with d-bushes.

Group buy anyone?
-
I got a 2.5, transport will be a bitch though.
-
cheers guys-
nah I'm not a big photography buff, I just took a sh*t load of photos and played round with them in picasa - downloaded it from google. Photos were taken at the wainui coast, decent drive to get there
As for hose clips, I just got them from pick-a-part. Cost about $5 for everything. Engine was cleaned using autosol and dynamo (yes laundry powder)
-
Tims right, they all tick. If they aren't ticking you probably have them set too tight, which isn't good. When I do mine its alot quieter and smoother but still ticks.

and subs
and clean engine

I don't think I've ever put up proper pics of my car so i took some yesterday and had a play round with them. Cars nothing special, just lowered, tints, exhaust, stereo. Theres still a few thinsg I need to do (remove all those f**king stickers) and re-tint the rear window cos thats all shitty. Proper wheels would be nice but can't find any I like within my price range. I'm also thinking about putting on one of those little lip spoilers.
Anyway pics...
