I think only M20 and M40 use belt. I'm pretty sure M50, M43 etc use camchains, could be mistaken though.

there are different blocks but AFAIK all the mounts should be the same. Its just little differnces like where the oil dipstick goes in, steam holes etc.

Agree to a point but depends on the vehicle. Turbo vehicel can benefit hugely from chips. Look at what can be done with XR6 Trubo and other vehicles that have been "detuned" from factory. Early Gen IIIs are another case of this, holden deliberatly dropped power so they could increase it for each new model.

don't know of any kits for M42 but have look at e30tech.com. lots of turbo info over there. at a guess you should be able to get 250hp (crank) without too much trouble. just remember:

IMHO depends if you going to do the tuning yourself. If you are they are a must have. On the other hand if you getting the pros to do it I don't think they are worth the cost. Depends on your budget though.

just get one from a F/L will make it lots easier. should be able to use same loom, just swap ecu over or get a 2.5 chip written.

works with any E30

offset is the distance between the mounting surface and the CENTER of the rim. As you get wider rims less offset is needed. with 7" rims ET40 is pretty much the max you can go. I doubt you'd even fit those if you have the bigger 51mm struts. The bigger the offset offset there is the closer the wheel will sit in to the car.

how much you pay for that? Any idea on how it compares to the lengths of the other ones available? ie z3, z4 etc?

offset you need depends on width of wheel. assuming you getting 7" wide wheels ET25 is the go. the wider you go the more critical the correct offset is.

2 1/4 pipe with some cobys and muffler.

Just get the camber and toe done all at once. Save on freight and the hassle of taking subframe out each time. I've ordered stuff from them before, just don't expect much customer service.

I have pretty much done all that on mine an biggest difference was fuel economy went up. about 5hp increase if that, sounds better though.
