  1. Funny, mines pre F/L and i took mine out. Mine is late 87 so that might have something to do with it.
  2. How much stuff did you have certed on your henna shell? Wouldn't it be just as easier to get it recerted instead of mucking round with VINs and rego etc, or am i overlooking something? Unless you know someone paint alone is really expensive. Then you need a decent gun and a grunty enough compressor that will keep up. I wouldn't even think about using a super cheap, repco one etc. Have you done any spraying before? Couple of random questions, where abouts is the rust on your 323? and, is there any difference between 4 cyl shells and 6 cyl shells?
  3. Did the jack bend at the bottom? Thats what happened to me, only i never got the car high enough for axle stands. I had my hand on top of the jack to steady it and next thing i know my hand is between car and jack... very painfull. warning to all: DO NOT USE BMW JACK IF IT IS ANYTHING BUT MINT CONDITION!
  4. Funny, noone came up with a decent reason why they speed. Still, the most of the country seems to do. But, i did see a cop with a laser standing right infront of a 100K sign ticketing people that had started to accelerate a little too early. Yeah, they were speeding but thats pretty harsh. Also, i think cops should go easier on people overtaking. Some of those trucks motor along the straights and I'd like to see someone overtake one of those without going faster than 100Kmh. I'm not saying I never speed, if i want to go fast i just try and save it for the track or our trail bikes, where there are no bystanders or police

    Parts for sale

I think we might still have 2, ones a NZ new 323i one and the others a british import 320i one (ie MPH and KPH). both around 200K, which would you prefer? I'm pretty sure they are still around somewhere.
  6. I agree with sparkle on E30 cabs, good condition ones with Mtech2 look awesome and not at all like an almost 20 year old car. I'm also pretty sure most have got tan leather
  7. Would bending the "rod thing" make it clear the balancer?
  8. I put the Z3 1.9 in my car today, had no problems and lever went in very easy. Does anybody know if the stock 318 shifter is the same as the 6 cyl ones? Even the Z3 1.9 lever makes a big difference over stock. I'm glad i didn't go any shorter becuase my gearbox isn't the healthiest and the Z3 lever does make it a little notchy. Other than that I'm happy with it.

    JUNGLE

Very Nice. As for your springs, what sort of blue exactly? a sort of greenyblue could be dobi's, and i think lovells maybe a normal blue, not sure though. how much better does go with the headers, chip etc when compared to normal 325? Also, would you like to buy another manual steering rack or did you keep you old one?
  10. Can you import them from the states? Would only be about 600NZ + freight, which doesn't seem too bad for a V1
  11. Off topic but serious question, why do you speed?

Dynamo, just plain old washing machine concentrate stuff. We use it on our trailbikes all the time. Dilute it with water so you can spray it on with a garden/weed sprayer. Wait 5 min and then hose it off. Just like degreaser but you can use it on paint, plastic etc. Also a bit of autosol and steel wool.
  14. $280 for a master cylinder??? When i was shopping around for one they were around $100, not genuine but who really cares.
  15. Do what Carl said, mine did exactly the same thing a little while ago, the BNT kit fixed it.

    My new CAI

Thanks for the comments guys. i got M10. With my first setup I had the filter just behind the fog lights where you are talking about. The problem with this is that there wasn't much airflow and the pipeing was too long and had too many bends in it. The advantage of this setup is that there is plenty of space around the headlight shrouds for air and also the intake pipeing is as straight as possible. I still have the pipeing and brackets from the old one if anyone wants it. I need to find another material for the pipe, i would rather not have one at all but without it i can't have the heatshield setup like that. I could use ordinary old PVC but it wont be as durable and i don't know if it will be much better in terms of heat transfer than the old one. Anybody know of anything i can cover my stainless steel pipe with that will absorb the heat?

The only problem i can see is that the pipe is exposed to the engine and could get quite hot. Any ideas or suggestions to improve this, ie any good heatproof coatings out there?

    My new CAI

I made up some seel brackets to mount the AFM using the original mounts. The AFM is also bolted to the heatshield.

    My new CAI

While I'm waiting around for uni to start i got a bit of free time so i decided to play around with the intake. Its a K&N pod sitting behind the headlight with a heatshield. Feel free to leave any suggestions or improvements. Other than the filter the whole thing cost me 5 bucks, i got the materials from my old mans workshop and the rubber joiners and bands from pick-a-part. As for performance, it does seem a little quicker through the gears but it could just be in my head, it definatly hasn't made anything worse though.
  20. So how would someone tell if its got the high comp engine? would you have to check with the dealer?
