Nissan did a CA-18 Skyline and Laurel that would be equally lethargic… Holden did an crap Opel 2.0 powered VN Commodore for the NZ market. Thinking about it if this is a twin-cam 1.8 in a five series it would be as equally good/bad as a MM20 520i. Just showes how far cars have come.

Just drive better, I must say with No ABS, Air Bags, Stability Control, crash structure im a lot more cautious in the E30 than in a modern car. To think these safe modern cars can only make future drivers less competent. -
I can see in no way that you are victim here.

It’s not about fairness it’s just cold hard scientific testing buy boring European people in white lab coats. To be fair a run of the mill Japa is proven to be saffer, this Primera of the same vintage scored three stars for example. E36 are not safe at all but imagine how bad something like an E30 would score with no air bags at all. -

Also. How many cars on Bimmersport have over a 3 out of 5 star safety rating? Example: 1997 E36 2 stars out of five http://www.euroncap.com/tests/bmw/3_series.aspx The diversity between the two country’s simply can’t be compared, its completely different. -

No its not. We have more cars per person and cars are a lot cheaper thanks to Japanese imports. The whole time I have hated Japanese imports I have never thought of this monumental worth. A young lady/chap that would pay 5k for a 1987 Ford Laser in Australia could buy a significantly saffer car here for 5k. Edit. As said above -
Toyo do a 225/50 but that would come up 25mm short. 225/50VR15 gives 230mm width and 115mm side wall. 215/65VR15 gives 223mm width and 139.75mm side wall Maybe it needs a drastic lowering.

That test is completely irrelevant to New Zealanders for a multitude of reasons. Maybe if cars were cheaper in Australia things would be different. -
I retract my opinion. I was like a kid that found out Santa wasn’t real when someone took me for a ride in one. Guess we need to find these things out. Merits are the sound of the 5 cylinder Turbo engine and solid build. I enjoy Audi’s marketing of the Quattro System and admire they still use it as a tool to sell cars as if it’s some great new technology that they invented.

But the URQQuattro has less than 200bhp while the RS2 has well over 300. There was a nice one a Taupo race park last time I was there, didn’t have the Blue Alcantara option but was still sexy, love the Porsche Brakes, mirrors and bumper lights. Did they make a S2 Advant?

Yea na, you can buy them for 900-5k thousand pounds in England, they are not rare or collectable. And I won’t speak of their performance

Make sure you leave it at 4PSI and ALWAYS run the car on 98+, I have heard some stories about these chargers. -
Haha, owning an E30 is like a mechanical apprenticeship, after two years you have replaced every mechanical item and you are qualified. Antill33T, did you work out how to read the dip stick yet?

Yep need new front disks for the Renault, there prices make BMW parts look a bargain. $1,140 for a front pair. Seeming the E30 is going the Renault will be having a quite holiday.

Hold it on the 20th and have a white bucket for donations, not a bad idea Heath my boy.

They were less than 10k only a few years ago. He is mixed up as to how collectable they actually are, for 40k you would want something quite special. An RS2 Would be nice.

I don’t donate to a organisation that encourages attention seeking people to grow stupid sh*t on their face and generally act like they are legends for a month. Most fools don’t even collect any money. And lots that do just keep the money. Would rather send money direct to a given charity.

40k is that a mistake? Its no E30 M3 For that coin...

I used a wire brush.

That’s why you have insurance, depending on your excess. Just rock around with no bonnet, will look tough as. Knew there was a reason BMW mounted their bonnets backwards.
