All good. I will jot down your details and add as friend. I can’t understand how you invite mates to my lounge area. Will have to buy an M3 now. I don’t have much coin so may just join in another car of equal power. I brought a Gallardo and cleaned out my savings only to discover is ratshit and slower than my C6 Z06.

300bhp cap. Sports tyres max. Not really. I like a challenge, all online races I have had the cars have been mismatched and amateur fools have turned up in crap cars with 2000bho and just ram into everyone.

Hi from Speedfactor Motorsport & Performance
Apex replied to Speedfactor's topic in New Member Introductions
What type of motorsport preparation do you do. Where are you based. Who makes XYZ brand coilovers, where are they made and who did they copy?? -
Hey Nick. Im really confused with how it all works, how do I find your group/race/lounge or whatever? Im TTEETT. Maybe put a message up as to what car type we are racing, I don’t want to turn up to a knife fight with a gun.

These look really really good on E36's, makes them look a whole heap more modern and are perfect fitment. I wouldn't be surprised if these become quite sort after in future.

If its NZ new it will be, the montune badge is a give away also.

Learn how to drive it. In old GT’s you would just fit a spoiler and set max down force. My Supercharged MR2 is mean, its sideways the whole race! I have a 205 Turbo 16 and two Renaultsport Clio V6’s and a Alpine A100, if you can drive those you are set. Is anyone else thinking this game is silly amounts of easy, well the races are the challenges are slightly harder.. is there a difficulty setting I haven’t found? My favourite car to drive this far is still the Alfa Romeo GTA. So so good. The FT86 is a good time also, sports version moreso. Kingkarl added as freind..

Well after a couple of weeks of research it turns out increasing track on my car 10-12mm will put a few things way out of wack, it’s no big deal on a RWD but quite detrimental to the way a powerful FWD with perfo hubs drives, especially for road rallies that I will be doing. Thanks guys. I now have racing parts sponsor who will have a set of wheels delivered to me in the offset I want. If anyone wants proper race wheels in any spec you can imagine please let me know, pricing is very fair and the wheels are top notch being used by Australian Supercar, BTTC and WRC teams. Google Teamdynamics.

Good stuff Glenn. The habit has been with you a while so that would be hard, the addiction itself is no different, Nicotine is equally addictive to anyone, a pack a day smoker is just as addicted as a pack a week smoker. One thing I have struggled with is social occasions with friends who smoke, especially seeing both my best mates smoke, you end up avoiding people… I would think this social aspect could make it harder for younger people.

There is no right and wrong. Seems funny they would be on a car like yours to be honest, they are aimed at the boy racer/tuner scene. Did they come on the car? I drove on them in a Clio RS around Hampton Downs and they feel so so soft, much like a Toyo T1R, heaps of side wall flex and quite sloppy, what was notables that the car was slower on them than the Toyo T1R’s they replaced, the Toyo’s were well worn in though so hardly a good median. To me, a softer tyre should be quicker given how fast they wear out, you really want a pay off. As said you can’t go wrong with any of the major brands. There is a recent EVO tyre test in the tyres section, gives a fair assessment of what’s good and what better. I still rate the Dunlop Sport Maxx as best as they cost half as much as the next decent equivalent, I have tracked my car on them many a time and they were only a second or so off the R888’s and were on par with the same car (Megane R26) running OEM Michelin that cost twice as much. As a caution I can say avoided deals on P-Zero Nero tyres, I have a set sitting in the corner of my garage, I had to remove them they were that pad.
-
IMHO there is no such thing as a semi track tyre, I have driven on the RE11 and it’s a joke in comparison to the R888’s, they are just way to soft in the sides. I feel your pain with the R888’s, mine lasted two months until canvass, at a RRP of $580 each that is not the best. As an alternative Dunlop do a tyre called Star Spec Z1. http://www.dunlop.co.nz/tyres_motorsport.aspx?cat=3 Best bet is a track set of tyres and a road set, at least you have the luxury of cheap wheels to hang them on for the E30.

My account is TTEETT. Full on weekend starting with U2 tonight means I won’t get much more gaming in.. there is always Sunday afternoon. Keen for some battles. Finished licenses B & A, mostly silvers, could get gold’s but if I don’t get gold second attempt I give up and move on and sold all the crap prize cars bar the Cart. Stopped playing and fitted new drop links to my mates E36. Got a Megane RS and did weight reduction and a poddy and it went like f**k, gained like 20hp with a pod filter, what a joke! Did all races I could do in my Megane, modded it a bit more but went to far and its already way to fast for any event..but it was standard, typical easy as hell GT. Got to level 10 and unlocked the next tear of races but realised they were bulshit so went to the driving challenges and did some carting and NASCAR, carting was awesome, way to easy though, the NASCAR was quite difficult, will go back to that. Sent my B-Spec dude round on the Sunday cup. Had an online race with some Englishmen. Crashed out. I still think need for speed shift is a better game, far more realistic and challenging…. Just a shame it doesn’t have the polished graphics and content like Gran Turismo
-
Quite disappointed with my initial play, I chose the Megane to get an idea of how realistic it is dynamics are still way off, it drives nothing like a real Megane, the experience is far removed and totally wooden, so much the same as GT4 and GT5 Prologue, far inferior to NFS Shift or even Forza, the cars sound sounds nothing like a Megane either.. so two strikes in terms of dynamics and game play. The content looks good, enough to keep me occupied for some time if I can be bothered, the cars are lacking in the European department, even the Megane is a Regular 5-door cup, not a R26 or better still a R26.R, sad they didn’t even have the RS250… they do have 23,000 Honda Civics though.. so so slack. Opening movie all full of horid jap crap. Graphics are amazing, very shiny. Overall very disappointed… so much so im going back to work. Booooooooooo. Need For Speed Shift is a better game.

Its only $120 mate. Are you looking at brand new "race" wheels??
-
The stig doesn't have opposable thumbs though Henry? Make the first challenge you have to use your first purchased car on a series of tracks, said challenge commences next monday night.
-
Lol I got a PS3 the day they came out for 1,200..seems like an eternity ago now. Keen for online Pwnage of you all... Only problem is I dont even have time to play the fricken game.

Thanks David, thats what I was looking for. My only concern is increased torque steer being FWD and being built for the road not track but at only 10mm I don't think it will be drastic, if anything the increased steering feel will be a pay off. The joys of building something different, if someone tells me to sell it and by a Honda/Mitsubishi/BMW again I will loose the plot.

Speedometer working intermittently, suggestions appreciated.

Have you looked at the speedo sender on the diff? unplug, and remove sender, clean all parts, reinstall and see how you go. -
I require a spare set of wheels for my race tyres, et 60 would be ideal but after a year or so of looking the closest I can get is a et 53. What are thoughts on running a lower offset each side, I will essentially be widening my track a total of 20mm. Would this be drastic or detrimental to handling or would increasing the track 1cm each corner do bugger all. Thoughts. Cheers.
-
It’s a lot more car and yes its fully justified, if you actually like driving the difference is chalk and cheese. The E39 M5 isn’t that bad in terms of maintenance compared to a similar aged 540i and is relatively cheap compared to newer M5’s. There is no reason a mint, NZ new facelift 6-Speed 540i wouldn’t sell for mid to late twenties, just as there is no reason a E34 540is wouldn’t sell for late teens low twenties, if something is rare and sort after it will fetch the money.
