  1. It's a huge amount of money. I don't think I'd ever be able to justify $800 for a plate! Ever! Obviously for some it's fine, but I know I'd rather have $800 worth of racing

    Wow, that E21 rullles!
  3. Ok, So even bell heights are slightly different. You would almost be better off building your own BBK from RX7 or 300ZX calipers. About the same work to make it work. Need to find a way to position the calipers. At a guess, it'd be more expensive but probably easiest to get all M3 bits to retrofit I'm meaning the whole strut lol.
  4. The short answer is, your calipers aren't going to work.
  5. I'm guessing there are size differences? Do you have any information on the specs of both? This will give you an idea of what's needed. E.g. Bell height, centrebore, thickness, diameter.
  6. I reckon, my advice on if you're gonna paint the cage another colour - just bomb the interior with the base colour so you get coverage. Then mask and colour the cage. I did it wrong and just coloured the cage Nah, they should be dirty dirty poooo brown.
  7. No this hasn't happened to me. But when I did a transfer of ownership for mine, the lady on the phone kept pushing for me to upgrade to a picture or euro or whatever costs more money. When I refused to spend any money on them, they insisted it was customary to have the plate remade - even though the existing ones were in good condition! The amount of money they wanted for things absolutely boggled my mind.
  8. What's the tyre size?
  9. Holy crap that's brilliant! Alan Ford !More non-Snatch Bricktop ,2, ,4
  10. ^ Me too. Walter Rohrl is a proper legend - he's got these awesome stories surrounding him. Like the story that during a foggy/rainy 24hr race at Nurburgring he didn't slow down at all - he drove the ring basically blind relying on timing and memory.
  11. Lawl Downside - they have no turbo to worry about. To be competitive, power is essential. They are marked on speed and smoke amongst other things. Power is needed for this. E30's have comparatively pathetic power. Turbo'ing an E30 is an involving exercise - turbo'ing a Silvia involves buying a turbo motor and bolting it in. Everything pretty much lined up when I helped with a turbo conversion. Downside - E30's aren't as lego-like as Nissans, you can't just bolt in parts from other cars to make a really really fast one. Downside - Short wheel base will make it less easy to hold in a slide Downside - E30's rear suspension is positively agricultural compared to multi-link Silvias and the like. More tuning needed to keep up Downside - E30 wheels are a pain in the arse to find good fitment. There's plenty in 4x114.3 and 5x114.3 Downside - They have the aerodynamics of a brick, drift boys seem all caught up about Aero. I don't know why. Downside - A redlining M20 sounds a bit anemic compared to a big Japanese turbo 6. At the end of the day, it probably doesn't matter what you drive, as long as you can drive it well. The blokes in Europe can sure drive their E30s! But for the do-a-skid-bro population here - a long wheelbase turbo cefiro is going to be a lot easier to hold skids in I think.
  12. Doesn't sound too bad from the outside either
  13. I guess it's entirely subjective. But I find or , to be E30's at their best.
  14. Holy crap I want them. I don't even have a 4x100 car to put them on. I'll give youuuuu.......... $400.

    HB Heath (DRTDVL)

WTF x1 WTF x2Anyways, Happy Birthday Heath. Hope ya get 3rd gear for your birthday present
  16. That looks very very choice. I would've gone for less aggressive fitment though (but that's probably because I'm a wuss).
  17. These guys have too much time and money to blow on 3 seconds of joy. I like version better.
  18. When you realise it's got rubbish steering, rubbish brakes, rubbish shift, rubbish engine - yet you still spend thousands and thousands making it a race car. In the same vein, when your ideal E30 doesn't have E30 motor, diff, gearbox, or brakes
  19. In my swine flu'd state found this quite amusing. The second half that is. I also found this ninja cat .
  20. +1 Is the rubbing on the flangey outer caliper bit? Or the bit close to the hub?
  21. Wow! And so it begins! Any idea how the wiring is going to go?

    JiB's POS

Well, everything's come to a grinding stop. I'm under quarantine for another 5 days. Got a somewhat severe flu. Hmm, trying to find pictures from the RallySprint without any success. I saw lots of photographers though! (well, people pointing black things at me while I drove past) I wish But no, this little blue car might mess up your hair-do on the way to the salon with it's lack of windscreen or roof - foldable or not.
  23. When doing my Auth Card and Cert, Neil Fraser said he didn't need to put the braided lines on either, but because a lot of people have been failed (incorrectly) on them he put them on both my cert and auth car to save hassle!

    JiB's POS

My lemon coloured (I swear they appear to be made out of Fruju's) IE motor and g/box mounts appear to be in good condition. So far so good. I think they're a year old 4,000+ km's old....these weren't kind km's either. No time no time...I think my rust bucket and my racing is going on hold for a month or so - until a little blue car has materialized.
